i hav noticed, even after the big merc buff when they get smoked or malf they tend to lose. i think they need a shield of some sort to both resistance and defence or give them frenzy instead of bc. maybe switch hybrid with frenzy. or make hybrid have a str requirement and give them frenzy? what do u guys think?

No.

Mercenaries are balanced right now and if you can't beat those BH's, think of another way to beat them. >.<
Frenzy is Tactical Mercenary's Skill that came when they were introduced. No point in giving it to others as it is their Skill.

Hybrid Armor is currently doing fine. Even though it gets ignored when the opponent has Rage, it's still doing fine. If it gets into requiring Strength, then expect to see Strength builds... again.

How about replacing the support on hybrid with strength or lowering the cost after all 42 support adds up to 20 points in that skill that could be used elsewhere. Which we could always wait till Passives to Actives, maybe they change hybrid armor back to how it was in beta :)

Merc doesn't need frenzy. Anyway, they have Blood Commander.

I do miss playing as a merc just for the sole purpose of being able to counter anything at any moment, Epicduel is really a mind game now and I can not seem to get into players heads with a techmage as i could with a mercenary.

Blood commander is easily better than frenzy, it in total gives more HP by a lot, works with attacks other than strike, and barely costs more energy.

What makes merc's weakness to debuffs even worse is the fact that they can't even take a load of energy on the first turn to stop high-debuff builds too.

maybe give mercs bloodshield back, and reintroduce HA switching? i would love to see that happen.

@ED Divine: HA switching would be cool, but then it would just be plasma/mineral armor, only better, which I think the devs are trying to avoid.

Adrenaline is a focal point of merc play right now given their wide range of different attack options, plus we should wait until the passives turn to actives. Also, blood shield really only serves good purpose on non-tanks with blood lust and such; sacrificing HP is a hefty price to pay for a defensive buff when playing as a tankier class.

ooh, i got an idea!
maybe buf MA and PA to 15 def/rez and make HA 10, but switchable? that way mercs get a choice, at the cost of having a weaker passive armour. and pop in a version of bloodshield:

Iron determination:
shield you or your ally at the cost of some of your health

lvl 1: 1 hp for 1 def/rez
lvl 2: 2 hp for 2 def/rez
lvl 3: 3 hp

and so on.

well, I guess that would work, but the ability to switch between the armor types isn't a material thing like solid defense/resistance advantages plasma/mineral armor would have, so it could be arguable whether or not hybrid armor would be vastly UP or not.

Switchable means you're wasting a turn which isn't worth it. MA nor PA do not need a buff since they scale by your level (get stronger every __ levels) and were put down few times to the numbers they have right now. It's fine.

Frenzy isn't needed because it's TLMs skill. BC is fine and can be very good if utilised properly in either 1v1 or 2v2, as well as with an appropriate build - not necessarily Support abuse.

I still don't see a need to buff passive Armors, these will be going away after the War due to the passives change to active skill.

ehh, i think passive armours will be cool after the update. like a free bloodshield without the health cost.

Although that would be a really sweet addition but you have to think about the effect it will have on people. Mercenaries, TLM's and Cyber Hunters are getting even tankier (?)

Edit: @Divine, that's just a very low energy shield without costing energy. But to think of it, it would seem more fair with Mercenaries other than Tactical Mercenaries with it's equally tanky stats. But I don't want Adrenaline to be replaced for what it replaced in the first place.
