Mysterion. -> RE: Prize Codes (7/28/2013 23:31:52)

Pc from 2001 =/= Internet connection

Don't know about your technology expertise, but this is basic knowledge..
For the record, the pc I use is from 2009, and I even have 2 screens, 1 for the tweet and one with ED open to immediatly copy paste it, yet I failed because my internet was too slow with loading it.

So, again, some people can't help it.

Dual Thrusters -> RE: Prize Codes (7/28/2013 23:33:30)

Larger Quantity*

Buys you 10 more seconds.

Mother1 -> RE: Prize Codes (7/28/2013 23:35:29)

@ Mysterion

That was the 10 year anniversary event which people had to work together to fill the bar up to get to 100%. Also the staff didn't give that away that was AE which is above the staff.

Also even if that was true it still doesn't change the fact that the staff hold ultra rare as something of value even if you don't.

Also like Dual has stated about thinking of other I have also suggested when giving away an item more then once to restock the same code which will help more people get the item instead of the same people. Why they don't do that I don't know

GearzHeadz -> RE: Prize Codes (7/29/2013 0:19:57)

I want a new system... No sure what the best would be... Maybe that restock idea? That seems fair. Maybe just a little more than the amount that is given out?.. I suppose that goes against what the devs want, so I'm unsure. It just seems that most people who get the code are the ones who stay up 24/7 constantly refreshing twitter, and the same people get it just about every time.

SKRALL213 -> RE: Prize Codes (7/29/2013 0:30:45)

In my very opinion. I do agree that only a certain few should have a Item in a Prize Code. I was a bit upset I didn't get this one but there is always a chance of another. If you rage and quit because of a code that is both rewarding and useless depending on the player then then that's their choice. This isn't a dress up game I love omega because I can get my stuff upgraded, not to buy this and that. Ill support this idea only if its a fair time but not supporting if 50k plus players can get it.

@Mysterion
Slow internet doesn't stop the time of twitter updating. Twitter updates when it hits the right time so its the time zones mostly and slow internet can be countered by turning everything off and having low quality along with having one thing open and not to do multiple things. I have great internet with amazing speed, and it takes twitter a while to update.

@Dual Thrusters
I can support that idea since I was able to get the Moose Bane P and E (I only got energy in case I wanted to switch classes one day) at the last minute because of multiple codes.

Killer666 -> RE: Prize Codes (7/29/2013 0:32:42)

I agree to an extent, i like they they are super rare.

This last code i woke up a t 6 IN THE MORNING, and waited 3 hours and didnt get code because it twitter a few seconds to update -_-.

I think that the codes should be time based. Either 30 seconds or 60 seconds. Either one will be good.

No, but clicking on the ''1 new tweet'' thing and waiting for it to load it does.

Killer666 -> RE: Prize Codes (7/29/2013 0:36:59)

i agree with mysterion, that happend to me to, i stayed up for 3 hours for it

Scyze -> RE: Prize Codes (7/29/2013 0:41:39)

Stop bickering about you guys not getting the codes or Twitter not updating quickly enough. There are other things out there that will show you the Tweet right after someone Tweets it.

Go find yourself one. >.<

SKRALL213 -> RE: Prize Codes (7/29/2013 0:53:18)

@Scyze
Agreed. Just a code and another one will come soon, later or never. If you have time to waste then waste it if not do something else.

Plus to be honest if this wasn't omega then the item you get would be useless because you cant upgrade it unless they gave it stats.

Killer666 -> RE: Prize Codes (7/29/2013 3:26:57)

^^^^ guess we know who dosnt get prize codes, you probably dont even try to get them so why are you even commenting on this thread

SKRALL213 -> RE: Prize Codes (7/29/2013 3:40:07)

@Killer666
So you don't look? I have the Moose Bane P and E and they are Prize code items. I do try to collect them. Never judge just because of what someone says. I waste my time and stay up all night if I see a code coming and I will wait hours on end. But that is at night here so I don't do anything so might as well. Plus I can get the whole day to do what ever I wish.

Also I have every right to comment on this thread. I know what's right and wrong and these codes are both bad and good. Yes you get a cool item but its bad because even if you waste your time there is a 50% to 95% chance of not getting the code in time which leaves me to support the idea of multiple codes. Five the max. If not three. Or the idea of larger Quantity.

Mother1 -> RE: Prize Codes (7/29/2013 5:56:33)

@ skrall213

5 different code would anger people since horders would just get more than one. Which was why I suggested in the past they just restock the first codes of the item when giving the same items out more than once. It would have worked wonders with the moose banes and we wouldn't see some people running around with 5 of them in their inventory complaining about how they should have gotten 6 while some others didn't even get one.

That is the only thing I can agree with on this thing.

SKRALL213 -> RE: Prize Codes (7/29/2013 6:40:21)

@Mother1

That could work too but would have to make it where players wont keep using the same code over again once they got it the first time.

CHELSEA ROX -> RE: Prize Codes (7/29/2013 13:31:50)

Depending on rarity score the time should be allocated.
More rarity-less time limit
Less rariry-more time limit
Regarding ultra rare weapons certainly not more than 30-45 seconds

Dual Thrusters -> RE: Prize Codes (7/29/2013 15:14:43)

@chelsea

That's actually a good idea.

Ranloth -> RE: Prize Codes (7/29/2013 15:30:56)

I'd replace the "time" with "quantity" since codes are limited quantity and should remain so. So say for Ultra Rare it'd be 500-600 (if split into x codes, then divide the number by # of codes), then less rarity (i.e. Rare) would be 800-1,000 and Seasonal could be anywhere between 1,000 and 1,500. Normal items could be any amount - ones that you can purchase in-game.

This assumes ONE code so you couldn't claim it twice. If split into different codes, do bare in mind that players could get duplicates.

Lycus -> RE: Prize Codes (7/29/2013 16:32:33)

Locking this up since it is just causing flaming between people and now things are just being repeated over and over. At the end of the day, best we can do is consider it and as I said before - there are very clearly two different views on this and the only true compromise is to simply have it so we do a mixture or possibly raise the quantity a bit.

I think one point raised here is incredibly important and that is that these items if sold in-game would be worth a lot, or even classed as promos, however they are given completely free, hence why a very limited amount is given. Just because rarity does not matter to some people, the fact others really want them for that reason shows it matters to others.

@Mysterion. using two screens means your laptop/computer has to power them both, so this can cause your computer to slow down, causing even slower results. If this is not the case and it is purely the internet, possibly try going to the library or internet cafe when a code is announced to be tweeted in an hour or so, maybe an even longer warning.
