santonik -> What happens to bloodmages. (7/31/2013 14:19:38)

Im very trouble against them. No matter what build i have. Im play mercenary.
They have very good defences and veery good attacks. Deadly aim is too good;(... whit high medic heal/bludgeon combination. Other combination is too affective too. I feel bloodlust gives BM immortality, sometimes.
I strongly suspect that the BM is too strong in this game. Too many players have changed class to BM. Bloodmage seems to be the number one in 1vs1. I could not find any building in which it would win very often. I win it maybe once every four companies, and even then I need luck.

I have not done this rage.

No. No it's not. Only because you cannot beat them, it doesn't mean OP. Players claim BMs are at the similar level as old Mercenaries were. DA strong? After the nerf, it's perfect. BloodLust being too strong? It will be an active skill. Too many players changed to BM? Last time I recall, they turned BH.

BMs aren't that strong. If you have trouble winning - as seen by your 1/4 chance - then fix your build.

I'm not only a beginner. I've tried already many buildings.

Ranloth -> RE: What happens to bloodmages. (7/31/2013 14:54:02)

Then how come other Mercenaries are doing quite well? You seem to be the only one struggling, so it's self-explanatory.

santonik -> RE: What happens to bloodmages. (7/31/2013 16:48:26)

I'll play a mercenary.

If I pure the tank. Bloodmage beat me down really easily.
Bloodlust heal too much. Deadly aim and bludgeon to kill me quickly. I make very little damage. Intimitade does not help much, it prolongs the game. Bloodmage get more than twice the rate of rage.Than merc. bloodmage Damage and bloodlust heal is too hard to tanks. ..

If I have 5 focus build. Bloodmage beat me down easily.
Robot is not a lot of fun bloodmage against. + deadly aim bludgeon to kill this one too quickly. bloodmage Damage and bloodlust heal is too hard to focus 4-5 tanks. Do not say that you use the yeti. it just slows down their own death. . Two rounds without a deadly aim is too low. Why does not it change the 3 rounds. Yeti would be more effective against these gun cases. Bloodmage able to play at the same time a defensive and offensive game. this allows bloodmage defense buffs. Bloodlust heal and heal medic combination is sometimes a little too hard. They are able to counter almost everything possible. If the merc steal your energy then give blood mage to attack. Attack gives bloodmage rage further damage.

If you have glass cannon. Blood mage beats Mercenary easily.
This is the weakest link. There is no defense mercenary. The attack is good but not sufficient. Bloodmage able to counter this very easily. 1 defense buff or intimitade and mercenary is useless. Do not forget to bloodlust and high damage bloodmage. Bloodlust is able to heal a lot.

I have noticed this issue. The same intimidate works much better bloodmage than mercenary.

MERCENARY
Mercenary is also more vulnerable to this intimitade.

BLOODMAGE
Deadly aim to provide +9 damage. It's been really tough for extra damage. Intimitade is briskly after this.

Tired struck write more later if you want.

Trans, why do I feel like you are so cold? Not everyone wants to use a copy-pasta build to beat BM's. The way I see it there are only 1 or 2 merc builds that can beat BM's. Maybe the issue isn't with the player, and is instead with the game. Stepping back and getting some perspective sometime might help with giving advice. Not everything is so black and white.

@ nexus

Also not every build is suppose to be a certain build either and we also know this. cause if any one using any build can beat a certain build that also says that the build getting beating by everything is underpowered. There are suppose to be natural builds and classes that work better against others and we both know this.

Nexus... -> RE: What happens to bloodmages. (7/31/2013 17:19:44)

Yes I agree, but with the way class balance is right now, I tend to think the author of this thread is probably right. Lack of build diversity is a huge problem, and something that needs to be fixed. Sure, he might not be using the 'only build' that can beat BM's, but why should he have to?

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: What happens to bloodmages. (7/31/2013 17:53:54)

Blood Mages are the least flexible of all the classes. Every blood mage I have seen have had their str/dex equal to each other with tech trailing a little behind and around 30 support for deadly aim, literally every one and those that don't are doom to fail. I have regrettably had a much higher win rate with my build focused primarily on focus or defend than str and dex which to me makes blood mages the weakest.

People compare modern blood mage to old mercenaries was because the only way for a mercenary to win back then was to be primarily tech for bunker cannon abuse which is how blood mages are now. A 1 build wonder.

kaiseryeux21 -> RE: What happens to bloodmages. (7/31/2013 21:44:00)

BMs are not that hard to beat for mercs. Atomic smash is quite a powerful attack. Not all mercs are using that skill and i really don't know why. I mean, its the best skill for the merc IMO.

Yes, i am now a BM using the build they are suspecting as OP. It's fun to use but can be beaten easily by any class. Bludgeon was nerf, deadly aim was nerf, what else do you want to nerf to BM?

Exploding Penguin -> RE: What happens to bloodmages. (7/31/2013 22:15:41)

Once you run out of energy against a BM, you're pretty much finished. Deadly aim and blood lust, with possible rages on deadly aim with laser sights or bludgeon will wreck a merc that doesn't have energy anymore. I'll say that merc has a base disadvantage against BMs, but you should still be able to handle them with a higher win rate. Some tips from me would be to try and finish the fight quick instead of tanking it out longer, and make sure they can't use their level 7 field medic.
