Lord Machaar -> Achievments pricing (8/14/2013 21:58:51)

With the new titans' birthday cheevo which I didn't really know about until I visited the store, because they didn't mention it in the DNs something else bothered me, the price of the titans birthday cheevo, 10k credits for 1.5k rating, I sincerely miissed the tokens at that moment, because I barely had the chance to match my credits wallet with new weapons and cores, now I have something else to worry about, achievments, while we could collect tokens on paralel with credits, we didn't really have to worry about the achievments, but now everything is changed, more pressure on your credits wallet means that you gonna miss a lot of good stuffs. Tell more your opinion about this.

Cyber Dream -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/14/2013 22:06:48)

You don't have to buy the cheevo, its not a must. But it will be available again next year hopefully

Dual Thrusters -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/14/2013 22:13:07)

If you do the math, the Acheivements actually got cheaper, but smooshed into one currency.

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/15/2013 1:00:23)

@Dual:

The +5 credits from 1v1 means you'll need about 2k 1v1 wins to buy the 10k cheevo with just the battle-token exchange boost that was somewhat recently made. Before, you needed 1.5k wins for the 1.5k battle tokens.

It's not cheaper, just more convenient because farming for a single currency has more uses.

Lord Machaar -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/15/2013 8:04:21)

^ thanks for improving my point mathematically, I was going to do it anyway.
For the first post, that achievement will never get back, just like the bike they gave us for free last birthday, so If you missed it, you missed it for good.

Mother1 -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/15/2013 10:04:03)

@ Lord

How do you know this cheevo is going to go perma rare once it is gone? It was never said that it would go permanent rare. Also unlike with battle tokens credits you get every duel whether you win or lose as long as you don't leave the battle before it is over unlike with tokens were you needed to win to earn them.

Chosen 0ne -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/15/2013 10:12:19)

I liked battle tokens the way they were. That's all I'm going to say. I'm not sure why they took them out without telling us about it. The terms and conditions state that they can do such a thing, but it's just not nice to do so and does more harm than good.

The Devs do a lot without asking us if we would like it first, compare the numbers we had in beta to the numbers today. Lots of people are quitting.

Being the way I am, I don't really like newer players, and that's just an honest opinion.

The prices for achievements are high. They should be lowered.

Scyze -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/15/2013 10:28:05)

Achievements are easier to get right now. Something that was worth 1500 Battle Tokens right now will cost 10,500 Credits. Before, you would've had to do 1500 battles, now it's only 284 1v1 wins. Obviously the number of wins changes.

You do not need to buy every single Weapon that comes out. You can just buy Achievements now and on some occasions, you could buy new Weapons.

But they did tell us! There was a pretty large advance notice before the conversion took place.

edwardvulture -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/15/2013 18:43:45)

Axtually, to match how you get 5 more credits per battle, an achievement like that should only cost 7500 credits.

Mother1 -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/15/2013 20:06:36)

@ edwardvulture

Remember unlike with battle tokens you can get credits from both winning and losing as long as you don't get disconnected or run from the battle. Where as with battle tokens it was win or you get nothing. So that alone would make it easier to get cheevos. But you also got a credit increase as well when battle tokens left so the price because of those factors actually does justify the 7X increase in price of cheevos.

ambien -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/16/2013 0:22:07)

l think they have over priced the game which is weapons and cheevo . so they made a win 37 credits instead of what 34 big deal. win should be 45 lose 37. 2v2 win 130, lose 112 in credits. the price went nuts, like l said when the nons said they where not getting a fair chance they said. now look what has happen to epic duel sad days are coming more and more. plz just drop credits prices on cheev0s and weapons,or give out more credits for wins .

Mother1 -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/16/2013 0:29:47)

@ ambien

They do that varium sells will suffer. If they make everything cheaper and make you get more credits where is the short cut in varium? There wouldn't be one since no one would need to buy it due to everything being cheap and easy to get with credits.

Dual Thrusters -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/16/2013 0:41:48)

@ambien

That's too much for losses :/ I will be encouraged to lose if that is put into play.

Ranloth -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/16/2013 5:53:32)

@ambien
You play or pay. Yes, it's a lot of Credits but that's the point. You work for it (Credits) or pay your way through (Varium), just like it's been intended. Rise Credits prices? Did you ever hear of inflation? How about Varium - it'd not be a shortcut. What about prices? What about the ratio on some features (i.e. Class Change).
Easier said than done. It's not needed. If you don't want to farm, you can buy Varium and do it quickly. Don't want to spend money, then you can farm Credits. Don't want either? Well, laziness shouldn't be rewarded.

Lord Machaar -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/16/2013 10:03:41)

The pricing in overall is fair, for weapons, and for other features (cores, bikes, changing class, and etc...), let me get this clear for you:
when a new event goes out, many things get released, for example, titans' birthday, there is cheevo, there are weapons, but that's the least, what if it is a bigger event, bikes? armors? achievments? cores?, there are Rare Items hunters like me, we would like to hunt every rare we see, since the early beta and gamma, but I think with this "Crazy" pricing and smaching everything in one curreny, is going to breake this habit.

Predator9657 -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/16/2013 10:43:42)

is going to breake this habit.

Or is going to persuade people to buy more varium.

Thylek Shran -> RE: Achievments pricing (8/16/2013 12:37:36)

This calculation is not right because the weapon and armor prices went up with Omega and achievements share the credit
pool with other items and things.

Examples:

Seraph Armor: 14000 (Level 28) -> 17450 (Level 35)
Crysaliss: 15000 (Level 34) -> 20000 (Level 35)

So while credit rewards have been raised by 15,6% for a 1vs1 win (at even level) the weapon/armor credit prices
have been raised by more %. In those two examples its 24,6% and 33,3%. Of course at same level the price
difference would be smaller. Maybe around the 15,6%. However the top items like Frost Reaper (armor) now
cost significant more credits (but no varium needed) and significant less varium+credits.

Frost Reaper: 15000 credits + 995 varium (Level 34) -> ~29500 credits OR 595 varium (Level 35)

So one point of Omega is to offer paying customers much more for their real money while those items are now
also available for credits (only) but at a high price. Frost Reaper has already a rare passive core included which
makes it not that expensive compared to other armors like Seraph Armor which donīt have built in rare cores.

On the other side its true that you donīt have to buy that much weapons and armors anymore but instead you
have to buy more cores and maybe more robots. Of course you donīt have to buy enhancements anymore.
So its hard to say if achievements have become more or less expensive because alot factors influence
the credit pool.
What I can tell is that Omega has dropped my own credit pool by alot in the beginning due cores and
I did not buy any new weapons and armors since there.

Also consider that it no longer makes much sense to farm NPCs because they only give credit rewards but donīt count
for the win/loss statistic or wars. And they are now limited to 100 duels a day if they give credit rewards (+/- 5 level).
The credit rewards for NPCs have been cut down by quiet alot because lower level NPCs now give less credit rewards.
NPCs was a good source for credits, tokens (achievements) and wins in the past.

Because players are now pretty much forced to do pvp duels which consume alot more time while the win rate is MUCH
lower than vs farmable NPCs, I say that its now harder to get credits and indirectly also achievements.
Its obviously that the point is to make varium more attractive to players so that AE can earn more money.
However this strategy seems not to work that well because hundreds of players just had quit instead.
