I say it would be cool to see some bows and arrows. The bows would have cores and the arrows separated and have their own cores.

But not bows like that. Im talking about futuristic hunting bows.

it's the future, makes more sense to have a AUX that you trigger instead of a bow that you need to pull and release, even if its futuristic. bow is primitive

or a sharp edged bow primary? hit them (basically a sword), but has a core where u shoot a random arrow with random effects. all do 100% damage undeflectable and unblockable.

effect 1: poison arrows. poison the target for 5 damage for 3 turns. can be cleansed by heal.

effect 2: frosty arrows. applies frost to them.(stronger and more realiable hit because it is randomised and cant be picked all the time)

effect 3: iron tip arrows: ignores 20% of defence/resistance.

effect 4: hungry arrows: heals you for 20% of damage done.

effect 5: smited arrows: 20% of damage done steals their energy.


each core effect will have a special futuristic animation.

There can be futuristic Bows, just gotta get the design right. It'd definitely be interesting + really fits Mage and Hunter theme - hunt your pray down and shooting magic-enhanced arrows. ^^

It might be quite hard to think of a futuristic bow that fits into EpicDuel. Nevertheless, making one could be a real challenge to NightWratih and the other artists!

I think that just real deal bows would be hard to implement. What about a crossbow? Wouldn't that be a simpler design?

i think it would be fair to make some calss exclusive auxilary gun types:

Cannons:merc/TCLM
Bows/crossbows: tech mage, b-mage
sniper: bounty hunter/cyber hunter


also include class exclusive abilities for theses guns to replace one of the two passives which are getting replaced.

any thoughts?

Please know that they are different types of bows that dosen't require a reload after every shot. Plus who says that the bow has to be based off of a real-life bow that has already been invented. Use your minds, create a new one.

i just found that someone who works in the natrual type of magics would be more tied in with earth related weaponry, and i think bows are more "natural" than cannons or snipers.

Bows CAN be high tech, take a look at some of these pictures.

Bows aren't at all primitive. They are even more quiet than a silencer, being good for stealth. Attachments on the arrows can make them even more deadly (i.e. explosive tips, poison tips, electrical tips etc)

LOL you made me think of a minigun that shoots bows instead of bullets. Oh yea, each arrow has an explosive tip......you don't want to be on the wrong end of that weapon o.o

@dual cross bows will work since they are based on a trigger system, though for the high tech bow like in crysis it just seems useless for a bow that still requires you to pull it back and then release it, the whole thing is just primitive and old compared to a gun, if you were to make a bow that looks and is really high tech the closest it would look would be a crossbow, even then you would have to reload the bow manually. of course this is a sci-fi fantasy game which things aren't logical or reasonable at all, so I'm just speaking from a technical sense :P

I agree, the game is full of bazookas/guns, some bows would be a nice change(robin hood style). Just bows, no arrows with cores.

Agreed.
Even though i do like calculations "how much damage would player x do with y" in a battle: having not only the weapon itself, but also its ammo to work on, that would lead to more balance problems.

Not supported.
