Maybe unlimited passive version will come after we defeat the Chairman? Musk does say he needs to purify the energy for these cores to operate and the Chairman does the complete opposite.

I don't see the problem with cores themselves. Mainly how they ruin the gameplay. It can give you a boost of 2 defence at very low level and one defence or damage at higher. And the same type doesn't stack.
And these are far from enhancements, really. You're sacrificing four passive slots to have one of each kind. Enhancements allowed stacking on the same stat. And some weapons players use have locked passive core already or they have a better one.

Fixed some typos. It's awful typing on phone. >.>

kosmo -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 6:57:31)

Can you guys understand that these cores give a 24 point gap wtf, arnt you interested to win evrytime? And how much do they cost? 6k or 360 var evry 30 battles, they are just mad IF they think this will not make the game die

martinsen5 -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 7:03:14)

@Trans, that would be great, I really hope they consider making permanent ones.

@kosmo, if these cores go rare and only a small amount of players own them in a few months, this would mean they have a solid advantage. However, the cores are likely to return next year and they will have their chance to pick them up then. Besides, there already exists cores that are "game breaking" like the Chairman's Fury and Azrael's Will cores, which are both rare except azrael returns in february, I think. Point is, it's nothing new that seasonal rare or rare cores are OP as long as others don't have them.

kaiseryeux21 -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 7:06:14)

the only consumable core i have tried so far since they introduced that was the one which gives bonus influence. I tried to purchase it and after that, i just realize it isn't really worth anything. I guess there is nothing wrong with these consumable passive cores, only if they implemented first cores inventory. I mean not a lot of people will purchase these cores and your original passive cores will just completely gone. I mean, isn't it a new way of draining our credits??

another thing, i have read one of the posts. regarding not wanting to play 1 vs 1 for the mission. In my opinion, there's really nothing wrong if the mission requires winning 1 vs 1 25 times or even 50 times or even 100 times, only if the balance is not completely broken. I mean, you seriously wanted us to battle 1 vs 1 with this kind of horrible balance?? Not many people are having fun with loosing battles and im sure the dev's are completely aware of that. Pls look at the BIGGER picture.

@kaiseryeux21,

That Core isn't a Consumable - it is a Passive
.

kaiseryeux21 -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 7:21:37)

@ scyze. really?? 25 charges isn't consumable??

Ranloth -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 7:31:17)

Consumable means it has limited charges, and it clearly says it has Charges. It may be passive (that's the TYPE of the core), but it's consumable thus limited.

kosmo -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 7:31:49)

@martinsen5
Noone told us these cores are going to go rare.

In 1v1 there s people doing over 95% in leaderboards with the cheap builds by spending all they credits-var.
If you dont to waste evrything you have (as they want you to do), stick with juggs and only buy dex and tech core and you will have this op boost without running out of credits.

wireclub1990 -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 7:32:53)

Told people that this update was pointless without balance fixed.

Everything is when the basic core of the game is broken balance in all modes completely crippled .

I know your saying wait till the wars over .

End it ask people in game about the war you will get two responses

1) what war?

2)Its disappointing I don't even know whats going on ?

People care about the balance . Its falling apart guys time to get our house in order before we lose it.

If anything this release has made balance worse gave people using oped builds even more firepower .

And it seems to me like a extent of heavy p2w coming back in if we are not careful community a p2w system that is ALOT more expensive to accommodate for the mass player loss.

@Wire What if it is another rushed balance? Give time to the developers, I know(I hope) They are are in the process of fixing balance.

martinsen5 -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 7:36:45)

@kosmo, I said /if/ the cores go rare, then people having them get a massive advantage which could potentially be game breaking as you claim it to already be. If they don't go rare however, this means every single person has the option to buy them while at the same time successfully compete.

wireclub1990 -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 7:38:24)

odyssey

They've had since the beginning of omega or I might agree with you .

martinsen5 -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 7:39:56)

Another thing.. what confuses me is how the core suggestions we players have come up with have yet to be implemented in the game. We keep getting cores that nobody asked for like consumable, bacon shooting, slightly edited percentage boosts from already existing cores..

wireclub1990 -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 7:43:30)

It worries me more that if this is successful much more powerful consumable cores may start turning up with a price tag to reflect the power to a point the only realistic way to buy them is varium . And then were back to the p2w system enhancement style . Rather then azrael style now that I think about it im not sure which is worse. But the 2 combined yikes !

Ranloth -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 7:47:25)

@martinsen5
Two weeks back, Titan and NW were in-game and many players had a chance to speak with them, including myself. Titan has mentioned a big event will be coming soon - which is probably this one - and after they finish the Dread War (+ Titan DID say it wasn't perfect, and the features can be re-used and improved upon next time), they will shift focus to adding more Cores and we will have the passives change too.

wireclub1990 -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 7:50:22)

I genuinely hope they are smart with that passive switch or I think that could well be the end of the road for another chunk of players. Dangerous move to change something we've become so used to when relations are strained between ED and the players left.

kaiseryeux21 -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 7:54:56)

@martinsen, yeah ur right. I have seen in some really really cool, fun and unique cores on the suggestion forums.
I know its premature to say but Im sorry to say this but these so-called "mega release" isn't mega at all. when u say mega, it means huge, something big. And this update is not big. It might be big in art and graphics but those are just kids stuff. The real issue hasn't been touched for a while.
I know the dev's mention that they will not touch balance until the dread war ends. So my question is, how long will this war be over?? what if this war will not end?? Is there really a war going on?? Sorry but i don't see balance being touch in atleast another 4 months. That's my assumption. I believe this game is still playable, but i just want to appeal to the dev's that players are patiently waiting for something to more exciting. I can still see and met so many old friends back from beta and it goes to show that despite all of these, I swear ED has the best customers/players ever. For the love ED, for the love.

Ranloth -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 8:00:28)

@kaiseryeux21
Sorry, but you're wrong. Graphics is what attracts players too, and the target audience for AE is kids. You cannot say it's not big because it's one of the main aspects of the game too, and surely you'd buy a weapon that looks cool, rather than a one that looks bad.
You're forgetting about 9 new missions + new type of missions. It may sound petty, but having new mission type does take some time to code because you've gotta do it from scratch.

I'm not saying balance isn't as important as art, but both have to be done. One attracts the players to play, and other convinces the players to keep playing. New features too, even if petty, they are always an addition - new mission type is one, and it gives slight variety in missions.

toopygoo -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 9:43:39)

upon logging in this morning, when i noticed that you could only buy charges, my initial thought was that there'll be another shop with armor, musks weapons, and permanent cores coming in. i hope i predicted right.

martinsen5 -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 11:31:46)

How about that, sure you could deal more with malfunction.

Rayman -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 11:38:43)

I didn't upgraded the zooka, Ill do 80 dmg with the 16 dmg the zooka gives lol.

martinsen5 -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 11:40:25)

@Rayman, Oh... there went 10 k credits down the drain :(

Edit: shame this aux core doesn't work against the Platinum's Pride, haha.

Ranloth -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 11:43:28)

I think the amount of wins required should be cut for the missions. It's not about the imbalanced matchmaking, but the time players have and the overall balance.

20 1v1 and 15 2v2 wins is utter agony. Some people absolutely hate 1v1 due to first strike advantage, and 2v2 takes twice as long - at the very least - than 1v1 + has imbalanced matchmaking, which 1v1 only has to an extent.
It should be cut to perhaps 10-15 1v1 and 5-7 2v2. Not everyone have time to play it and due to leavers, people being under-equipped and lag, it takes a long time. I've started 3 hours ago, and I'm still on the 2v2 mission.

I honestly refuse to turn into Str BM just to be able to win more. I can, to speed up the process, but some people refuse to turn into something that's overrated just to be able to compete. Overrated, not overpowered.

martinsen5 -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 11:51:23)

@Trans, I was lucky enough to have the people leaving on the opposite team, so the 2v2 mission went quickly even though I'm a 1v1 player [;)]

wireclub1990 -> RE: =ED= October 16th, 2013 - Meet Mr. Musk (10/19/2013 11:55:42)

^ not really lucky likely those people aren't logging back in
