Sensei Chan -> Acive Energy Cores (11/2/2013 5:50:55)

It's totally unfair that we now have to pay energy to use cores, what really ticked me off is my build doesn't work anymore now using Force Strike costs 20 energy and I'm sure I'm not alone.
This has made EpicDuel even worse for me I don't enjoy playing anymore and I will never be spending another penny on this game!

King FrostLich -> RE: Energy to use cores? (11/2/2013 5:53:07)

^Yes, some cores were giving an advantage and should therefore cost some energy to do so.

CN2025 -> RE: Energy to use cores? (11/2/2013 5:53:41)

energy regain classes benefit from this :3

Sensei Chan -> RE: Energy to use cores? (11/2/2013 5:55:46)

If that's the case why should Force Strike cost 20 energy when the other gun cores cost 7 energy, I paid good money for Azreal and now it's ruined!

King FrostLich -> RE: Energy to use cores? (11/2/2013 5:57:16)

^Lol, I've lost my down since this is how it should be for power cores giving an advantage.

Sensei Chan -> RE: Energy to use cores? (11/2/2013 6:26:39)

Cores should be able to be unlimited if they cost energy from now

martinsen5 -> RE: Energy to use cores? (11/2/2013 6:32:10)

Forced Strike has so far been unfair and gave the owner a massive advantage in battle. It is now much more balanced, although I feel like 20 energy might be a bit over the top, yeah.

Sensei Chan -> RE: Energy to use cores? (11/2/2013 6:44:55)

20 Energy is completely stupid it should be balanced at 14 since the other gun core costs 7 energy, I have Azreal and I am choosing NOT to use it until it gets properly balanced

Ranloth -> RE: Energy to use cores? (11/2/2013 6:49:52)

Power comes at a cost. Other cores cost less because they are less powerful. You honestly didn't expect it to be cheap, did you?

Sensei Chan -> RE: Energy to use cores? (11/2/2013 6:51:01)

Truly spoken by somebody without Azreals.

Ranloth -> RE: Energy to use cores? (11/2/2013 6:59:19)

Balance isn't subjective. You're saying it should be cheaper because you own it.

Please do take facts into account before accusing someone of bias. Look at other cores, their effects and their EP cost. Then look at what benefits Azrael's Will gives you. If you don't want to use it, don't. Balance isn't going to take subjectivity into account, because that's what ruins balance in the first place. Re-thing your build and strategy, or just don't use the core. YOU are forgetting main aim of the cores, which is to aid you, not give you guaranteed advantage.

Khalix -> RE: Energy to use cores? (11/2/2013 7:42:29)

The other side will complain and say something similar: (I paid, therefore...)

If you ask me, balance is heavily subjective. If people keep using reasons such as that, then there would be no equilibrium.

I have no exclusive cores, but it's fairly obvious that's the theme of the Balance section is (X is OP, now I cannot Y)

Therril Oreb -> RE: Energy to use cores? (11/2/2013 8:03:26)

Honestly, giving energy cost to cores makes it a lot more balanced. Adding costs made a change in the fast paced battles you have in ED.
You paid for the cores, yes. But you got the power of it, doesn't mean it has to be all powerful.

True balance is an objective matter that is hard to achieve, for balance means that everything is equal if used in a proper way.
If something is too strong, maybe it has ways to counter it, that is how balance is managed. Not by making something stronger then the other but by making it equal in strength.
A perfect balance would mean that if 2 random classes fought each other, the win/lose ratio should be 50/50

The energy cost is a huge shift and right now many don't like it, but given time, players adjust and see ways to exploit it. It will require more balancing but this certainly is a step in the right direction.

Sensei Chan -> RE: Energy to use cores? (11/2/2013 8:18:55)

I understand but I can't find a useful way to use it anymore 20 energy is a little to much

Scyze -> RE: Energy to use cores? (11/2/2013 9:42:06)

Then make a new build that let's you use the Core. It's not rocket science! You should only complain if you cannot use the Core and guess what? You can still use it. [:-]

The Core still is useful and it still has the same affect in the game. It's got a high requirement because it changes the battle.

Cyber Dream -> RE: Acive Energy Cores (11/2/2013 10:04:30)

Is this is what I noticed. On the forums, some players who know nothing about the game acts like they do and when they post non-sense we LET them do it. But the majority of the time, a person who knows what they're talking about posts a reply to them. Now when this happens, the person who posted non-sense and claimed something was OP gets into their feelings and starts complaining. Now this brings me to this question, why are you guys stuck on the same ole stuff? Are y'all afraid of something thing different? If you think this new update ruined your build then you are crazy. The game just took a giant step into balance, EpicDuel is now making you players THINK!!

Mother1 -> RE: Acive Energy Cores (11/2/2013 10:15:07)

I think the energy cost for cores was genius. Why because now we have another counter or in some cores cases a counter to cores. Especially azreals will. One turn can make or break with the way balance is now, and having something that can steal your turn cost nothing was vastly overpowered and game breaking. These energy costs now make them more balanced.

Ranloth -> RE: Acive Energy Cores (11/2/2013 10:18:15)

And we have 3 cores to steal Energy, one being free. This gives you plenty of counters to pick from and work with, depending on your build. Now, we can have different cores with different powers (effects) and compensate it with higher Energy cost.

As I've said, power comes at a price.

darkllord233 -> RE: Acive Energy Cores (11/2/2013 14:29:20)

That's not fair,I hate this change,that was a bad idea :(

Therril Oreb -> RE: Acive Energy Cores (11/2/2013 15:13:47)

For those wishing to give more feedback towards the energy cost of cores, feel free to give that here: Rebalanced Cores.
Balance issues themselves can still be brought up here. But general feedback belongs in the above linekd thread. ~Therril Oreb

Scyze -> RE: Acive Energy Cores (11/2/2013 16:58:58)

@darkllord233,
Perhaps you could tell us why you really hate this change. This is a balance change which was brought up to make the game fair for everyone because people could simply deal a lot of damage without charge. Rather than saying "this is a bad idea", why don't you tell us how to improve it. You cannot just go and say something is bad without evidence.

People are now not being forced to Strike as much as in the past and a lot of people like this change. Plus this idea existed since the start of Omega; it went live nearly 9 months later. In the past, something like Thorn Assault and the likes, were all based on luck. That made the 115% Energy attack uncommon and a lot of people didn't even bother to say "it was a bad idea."

Caspyin -> RE: Acive Energy Cores (11/2/2013 18:18:07)

It was said earlier in the thread but needs to be emphasized... This is a huge advantage gained for those with reroute. Huge.

-Caspyin

dfo99 -> RE: Acive Energy Cores (11/2/2013 18:28:55)

This is the most worse atualization in epic duel that me see ever, now everbody that not have mana skills like assmilitation, static smash/charge and the now more great skill REROUTE will prefer not use active cores (except in extremly needed cases). It broken alot of builds. (BH and BM was nerfed)

Caspyin -> RE: Acive Energy Cores (11/2/2013 18:35:49)

Absolutely. BM's have no chance at fighting the war of attrition. We have no natural energy regen or energy depleting abilities. At least BH has EMP. This was a reverse nerf to BMs by instead giving the other classes a huge advantage in the war of energy.

-Caspyin

Ranloth -> RE: Acive Energy Cores (11/2/2013 18:38:40)

I'm doing quite well as a BM, perhaps it's your build? I don't rely on any specific core in fact, but find it handy to use one with leftover Energy of mine.

Revise your builds first, then see if it's really an indirect nerf. Get Piston Punch or Generator to get Energy back, or don't depend on cores. You also have 3 cores that drain Energy, so you can counter other people's cores.
