It wasn't the people only, but the Staff. The idea of passives -> actives has been debated since Gamma, but couldn't be done back then due to limited resources and possibly engine limitations at the time. The change isn't for diversity, but for balance. The balance side of it still stands, and it's passives being a must in each build which means you're dumping 10-20 skill points into two skills - just to be able to compete. Drawbacks? Hardly any. Same with cores. People predicted the change will doom EpicDuel because players won't like it. Many do due to the balance side of it. Did they like the idea beforehand? Some, yes, but they didn't know the costs of cores. Just give it some time. Once they release, test the change yourself thoroughly. If you expect max BloodLust (after the change) to retain it's 20%'ish then you'll be wrong. It may take a turn to activate and give you 60% damage back as HP (example) for few turns. They will be buffed, and two new skills will be introduced in place of Deadly Aim, for TMs and BMs alike. @beaststyles There's a reason why it wasn't released back in... June or July. One was the War, two was lack of testing, three was the fact it's a big change. Players always complain about poor testing which is often rushed, and this time, the change took... 6 months to test (+ ongoing releases, obviously).
