The battery creates energy from nothing which can cause very long battles.

All the other energy skills where it is stolen or gained from damage done actually result in a net loss of energy and health meaning that the game can progress however the battery skill gives a net gain of energy for no health loss meaning a battle could last indefinably.

Example: 2 TLM with loop heal build (max heal, max battery, high defense) will never be able to kill each other if they do not make mistakes.

The battery has a cooldown of 4 turns, and even with this, can be countered with an EMP, Atom smash, Static smash or any other energy drainer. So while it is strong, the cooldown and counter that are in game balance this move.

The thing is: this example scenario has already happened to me and i had to leave... i just think there should be some sort of thing stopping it going on forever such as a limit to its uses

More like Battery is a counter to all of these -.-

Actually they counter each other depending when used. Of course Battery can counter all those if it is used last, but the same can be said of those counters if Battery is used first. Plus there is also the pyro fly (which can shut this move down if you have it) as well as consective shot which can put this move on cool down. Luck based yes but both are still counters to this move.

EMP is the turn stall style counter but it's not 100% the best one since it has a cost. Battery may be on par with medic but it has no cost whatsoever, Medic on the other hand has the cost of a turn and energy. Although I only feel it's a problem on TM, who are also given assimilation an already unavoidable energy source. If it's going to be a field medic counter part then might as well make it cost HP?

but you have to admit, when two mages with the same build play each other... there is not end to that battle, regardless of what the coutner is, neither of those two mages can do it. IN this case, it is proving to have created an infinite loop, which should NEVER appear in the first place in a well thought out system...

Battles should give auto-win for both players if the battle takes too long...

nope the battle wont be infinite reason - one of us will lose energy but it is about a 7 turn fight both our energy takers have a long cooldown and one of them is weak already .
now about the energy.
caster build uses up alot of energy and whe cant keeb it for ever smarty. 1 battery equals 1 super charge or heal and after heal whe wont have energy to plasma so when whe use this ability u can easily match us. okay i can plasma and super charge in a row but i could have done that before already.
when using this ability i actuly find weaknesses because usually u are forsed to use heal or damage due to other classes :3 the skill has been out for 1 day and ur all calling it OP but OTHER SKILLS are out for 1 day as well.
i only think the reason why u think its OP is that its easier to understand how it works better.
tm all use caster now whe found a build that works with it and most have a hard time cuz they are used to the copy paste spamm builds or just popuar builds.
try using other builds im sure about it.
with this ability tm is alot more strategick [sorry for misspelling] bounty is alot more as well cuz it now has abilitys that work great in 2v2 like shadow arts or the new blood lust skill it works on ur partner as well forgot the name merc isnt that tanky with all them builds :3 just get used to the new skills

A tactical mercenary will deal significantly low damage if they are adopting a tank build as they have no energy efficient skills that use ether the tech or dex stat. It is not a recommended build however if someone does use it then it is possible that they may be against another player with the same build.

If this happens and each player plays a 'perfect game' one where they do the best possible attack for any given time then it is likely that the game will go on forever.

Tech mage's can be beaten i'm one of them & I talk from experience. Yes they are hard to beat but they ain't OP otherwise their'd have no weakness, but they do. You guys just need more time to think more strategic bcz its possible.

^ Basically its going to turn nearly all TLM and TM into Tech/Dex spamming bogies. I've already witnessed this monstrosity myself.

Not all Tech mages are dex spamming, Tech spamming casters. I use this class, and I am still sporting the my slightly tweaked build that people think is weird even though the change nerfed it in two areas.

But still Caster (tech caster) was my bane before this chance, and this change made it just that much harder for me to actually win against them since I lost the ability to control their energy.

wow tms l play a tm the syfy kinda nice to have reroute taken away from us NOT so we got battery backup well players suck it up and make builds to handle it, tlm got battery back up to so all the bms who thought they could not get nerft well u did if u ppl could makes the right bm build it would rock l got 1 but if bring it out every bm will cpy it and it is not going to happen, just sit down count your moves when u are making a build for the class do not be a cpy cat . players that have been playing for a long time should be able to make a build by now.

l have played a tm in good times and bad times and still won alot of games. so plz stop the crying about oped this is how we got here to start with remb think back. just play the game for fun remb this is just a game remb just a game

this is a fun on line game just a game . people get bent out of shape over it. their have been oped classes ever since ed started. with the new skillz tm has a skill everyone is crying about. ok gives us reroute back then. still mages then will use the oped what players call high support 3 round killz then. bm put them back then same thing 3 round killz. if u sit down an look what makes a tm strong it is not just the battery backup people also the core call PISTON PUNCH look at it and see what it does. before battery back up came out l was using it and won alot of games with the old reroute so plz look and read and use the cores before you leap and say that skill is to strong.

Does it matter that it is a game? There should still be balance attempts.

False, that build was not OP. And the ratios for that build proves it, without azrael that build only averages 40-50%. For me when I was a Str BH they were free kills to me since BL+smoke always kills them first
Right now caster mages have 90%+ ratios lool

I could go on and on...

defensive skill.

offence is still > than defence.

i tried str merc, and i totally demolished these pathetic excuses for OP. my double strike even got blocked quite a few times. and yes my dex was higher. guys, just use a good ol' str build. for CH, str massacre( not support massacre) , for bma max bludgeon max energy parasite heal build, for tlm double strike build(or even support build since tlm can use this move as a free booster in supp builds). just use str builds. they r awesome after this update.
