Remorse -> RE: new shadow arts (11/18/2013 22:17:02)

Problem is that it lacks appropriate usage to justify its use. They could change it so instead it only reduces a single attack but stays active until that attack has been used. For example lets say you get max shadow arts and it reduced 50% damage. (damage after armor, as in if they hit 40 it hits only 20) You know a powerful build say a support merc is about to artillery rage you, you activate shadow arts and reduce that damage in half. It may seem like a lot but you have to consider that you waste a turn and energy and it's only used for one attack. You also have to consider people can counter the shadow art effect by using a weak attack to get rid of it before using a powerful one. So overall it will become a strategic option benefiting those who know when to use it successfully and to those with a good brain for timing. Also this shield did not receive and indirect buff from damage reduction as it is based on % damage therefore any damage reduction will also lower the shields effectiveness. Only shields with fixed defenses received a buff from that.
