Mother1 -> Infernal Android nerf (11/28/2013 17:19:31)

Due to the last balance change the staff made, battles have gotten longer then they were before. As a result of this stall builds and super tanks got supercharged as well as anything that work with time which is the infernal android.

With it able to get up to 130% damage at the max and gaining power as the turns go on, this robot is a ticking time bomb waiting to happen especially if it is raged. Even with the highest of defenses the robot can cut through them like a high knife through butter easily score 30-50 damage on even tanky users.

My suggestion for helping to balance this robot would be to make the laser unusable with rage or add an energy cost to this robot's special.

Predator9657 -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/28/2013 18:31:07)

I agree a nerf is in call for this bot, however, I doubt making the laser unusable with rage will make much of a difference. This is because raging ignores the same amount of damage despite the weapon used to rage.

GearzHeadz -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/28/2013 19:11:14)

Which is the entire point of the bot... If you wait, you have a powerful attack, if you don't wait, you don't.

Dual Thrusters -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/28/2013 21:04:50)

It wasn't even a problem before the update -.-

Instead of nerfing the whole bot, just make weapon damage or offensive skills buffed.

Lord Of K1lling -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/28/2013 21:42:55)

i've seen thins bot do up to 50 damage to me, and i have 30-36 resistance. Rage with the bot is nearly unstoppable.

Jekyll -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/28/2013 23:15:46)

My resistance is 26-32+10, and this bot is capable of doing 27-27 damage. Still, I think that it is reasonable after they nerfed it down to once per game.

Now I'm just thinking... what if they prevented the bot from dealing the finishing blow? In other words, if I have 50 HP left, the bot's damage is capped at 49. Would this make it less overkill? This gives the other player a chance to heal, or do something to salvage the situation.

Remorse -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/28/2013 23:28:29)

^ I like that idea jkyl.

Also with the new cores the battle duration has probably been radically shortened.

Cores that lower def/ resistance and heals???

It is like they want STR builds to rule again is quick 3 turn battles..

PATHETIC core choice.
It makes me sick that they miss so many chances to make the game better and ruin it slightly instead.

GearzHeadz -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/28/2013 23:46:11)

@Jeykll
That's not a good solution, in my opinion. That would make many other people want other bots to not be able to finish people off either. Besides, other bots give % damage increase attacks as well.

Remorse -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/28/2013 23:53:40)

quote:

would make many other people want other bots

That is a good thing!!!

No bot should be so strong as to force all focus builds into taking it just so the can compete with other focus builds, people should have freedom of variety and choice.

The only thing you statement has done is made it clear that people are deluded about how strong their own items should be.

Mother1 -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 0:00:47)

@ jekyll

If they did that I am willing to bet everyone would stop using the bot since they wouldn't be able to destroy them with the laser.

@ remorse

While I personally don't mind fast fights, a little variety between fast kill and slow kill is always good in my eyes. Forcing everyone into slow battles only benefit tank builds since those builds are designed for slow fights where as quick kill builds wouldn't last long in these kinds of fights since they aren't built for those.

Remorse -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 0:04:35)

^

Tanks are nothing like what they used to be, I agree they can be strong but instead of taking away their defense and viability perhaps just take a little bit away from their damage source while leaving the other the same and it would be fine.

As for jekyll's idea it is good, people should be put off using it, currently the choice is so obvious for it that it fits the purpose of any focus builds which is a clear sign of poor balance.

kaiseryeux21 -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 0:04:47)

wow, so much hate for the Infernal Android bot. I know for a fact that the bot special is really capable of doing HUGE damage. But isn't it the true purpose of the Bot?? Strategicaly speaking, if you wait a little longer, ur bot surely will deal huge damage, not to mention it can still be deflected. But not many players wants longer battles, including myself. So i dont see the need of nerfing this bot again when not everyone else is using it right?? Before we nerf this bot to the ground, why not fixed first the unlimited poison of the poison bot which is far more annoying than a 1 hit laser of Infernal bot. If you say poison can be fix with heal, i say Infernal android laser can be prevented with 2 ways, high tech and deflection core. poison bot can be used UNLIMITED times, infernal android special can be used ONCE. Pls. look at the bigger picture.

GearzHeadz -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 0:08:00)

@Remorse
You must not of read my statement, as you only took a piece of it out, then used it out of context. I said people would want ALL bots to not be able to finish, not just the infernal android. Not make people want other bots.

Remorse -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 0:08:45)

@Kaies
Interesting the Bigger picture suggests the 80% of focus builds using IA sort of proves the point it is unbalanced.

The poison bot is strong but personally I have had no problem with it.

What is the build this poison build is defeating and that might bring some insight into this bigger picture.

Let me guess are you a tech mage?

@ Gearz sorry I miss read your statement but I did read it in full.

But they can want whatever they want the point is no other bot deserves to not have a finishing blow other than IA.

kaiseryeux21 -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 0:16:32)

lols, nice guess remorse. Im a str/supp non-focus CH which doesn't use any of the bot i mention. Yes i do have the infernal android but never used it nowadays because i can't be a tank CH knowing that Tank BH, caster TM and Focus BM will surely bury me to the ground. the only survival build for me as a CH is glass cannon version of TM with less diversity. my char name is LOYTI. I say it again, infernal android can be countered in so many ways. 1. Malfunction (lowers bot damage). 2. Have a huge tech (lowers bot damage and a chance for deflection). 3. Used deflection cores (u know where to purchase it). there you go, 3 ways to counter the bot.
on the other hand, Poison bot can only be countered with in one way, HEAL. Just want to ask, how many times can you heal in a single battle?? 5, 6 or 8 times?? May i ask again, how many times can you used the poison bot's special, UNLIMITED. How many times can u used the Infernal Android special, ONCE. How many players wants longer battles and wait for 10 minutes than players who wants fast battles and end it in 2-3 minutes with the benefit of earning fast credits?? You know the answer im sure. That's whay im saying BIGGER PICTURE.

LOYTI

Mother1 -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 0:30:17)

@ Kaiseryuex21

poison bot is also worthless on high HP builds and class cannons.

kaiseryeux21 -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 0:39:50)

@Mother perhaps you're right. But atleast player using the poison bot will only worry about his def and resistance because the bot will do the damage. And high hp are usually str builds which has been nerf during the last update. In other words, Infernal android bot isn't the only problem we are facing right now. If we really look at the bigger picture, poison bot is more difficult to counter now that energy is not only allocated alone on heal and skills, but as well as on cores.

Dual Thrusters -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 0:45:59)

@remorse

80% of all Focus Players use it because it has a low price, compared to the others.

Remorse -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 2:11:08)

^ Your opinion.

In my eyes cost is not factor to wins.

People use what is the most effective not the most cheap.

Synner -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 2:55:34)

Nerfing this bot again? are you guys for real? this bot nerfed many times already.

DarkDevil -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 3:15:40)

actually it's only 11-15 dmg stronger than his other attack after 9 turns.
seriously we are arguing about 15 dmg after 9 turns [&:]

Ranloth -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 6:43:35)

Perhaps it's an issue with Rage, and not the Bot? When is it overpowered? When raged. Is the attack overpowered when not raged? Don't think so.

Rabble already said that Rage will be reworked next, since his focus now shifts to these battle mechanics, as well as blocks and deflections, so give it some time. The only issue I see is the Rage + 130% damage combo, and we know Rage is a bit wonky already due to how it works. Nerf the Bot, Rage will get reworked and you may end up needing to buff the Bot...

kaierti2 -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 6:55:18)

i dont support this, infernal android is already so much nerfed.

1. focus 4 (early was focus 5)
2. warm up 3
3. u can use only 1 time

this bot don't need nerf anymore.

Remorse -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 12:05:28)

@ Trans ,

I hope this will be the case,

I always believed in balancing things via indirect methods.

I am very interested with a hint of worried to these rage changes they are proposing.

beaststyles -> RE: Infernal Android nerf (11/29/2013 13:22:08)

This bot has already been nerfed enough.

Nerfing it anymore will just render it useless.

You are forgeting that that bots damage is capped at 130% not matter how long the battels last. Also the special is deflectable. And the attack can only be used once per match.

I think we need to focus a little more on the truly op poison bot (botanical hazard)
