How about instead of nerfing it to the ground, the developers simply removed its ability to drain energy? Rather than take a substantial amount of energy from the opponent, they recover energy based on how much resistance the enemy has if and or their current energy.

Example 1

Resistance 25-30 +5 = Energy recovered: 35
Resistance 32-39 +5 = Energy recovered: 44
Resistance 19-23 +10 = Energy recovered: 33

Example 2

Current energy of opponent = 46
Energy recovered 80% of opponent's current energy
46 current energy (at level 10) = 37 energy
52 current energy (at level 10) = 42 energy

level 1: 20% of opponent's current energy
level 2: 28% of opponent's current energy
level 3: 36% of opponent's current energy
level 4: 44% of opponent's current energy
level 5: 52% of opponent's current energy
level 6: 58% of opponent's current energy
level 7: 64% of opponent's current energy
level 8: 70% of opponent's current energy
level 9: 75% of opponent's current energy
level 10: 80% of opponent's current energy

This gives BH a reliable source of energy without gimping other classes.

Not supported.

This will leave bounty hunter without built in way of draining energy, and will put this class at a disadvantage since every other class has a way to both drain and gain energy.

What's wrong with not draining something's energy? Every class is becoming the same. What? do every class need a way to decrease other classes defense now?

You are basically taking away Bounty hunters way of countering high energy moves with your idea. Not only that, but you are giving them something very weak in return for it. The first idea is worthless if they face a glass cannon since those have low resistance. and idea B 80% of my current energy at max? that only works if I have high energy. the moment my energy is low this is worthless which is what most classes will do the bounty hunter. Drain their energy and they won't have a good way of getting back energy.

You talk about not nerfing them into the ground but this idea would be doing just that. so Not supported.

I considered this coupled with their ability to work very well with Android and Poison bot, not including Hatchling rush, Azreal Aux. There has been many additions that just ooze BH abuse which I can see why they're so strong now. Should all that remain intact without adding energy cost to bots this would balance them a bit more with everyone else. You would have to burn your energy quite fast to avoid this skill from being at max use and if you do recover energy they can too at nearly that same full mount which is plenty of energy. If this skill had a 2 cooldown time would that be more sufficient? If not there is not many players that have below 30 defense so the skill would not be totally useless but I see your point for that.

If BM ran for such a long time strong without any way to drain opponent's energy I don't see how this would damage them so severely now. There is, of course, Icical spear and piston punch.

every class in game works well with cores and bots so this is kinda rediclious for a reason to nerf.

read other threads , they all state why this skill should stay the same as high draining skill with a regain yet the most thing could be done is tweaking it if it is needed.

not supported you can't consider a class based on what bots or cores it works well with it should be considered at it's very base with weapons and an aux and nothing more and go from there or you'll end up harshly nerfing a class to the point that you'll only see the builds and situations you were trying to prevent... honestly i was fine without the regain as a bh it's a nice addition but before the update bh's still had the emp qualities (which were much better than now as it takes much higher levels of the skill) and only needed a lvl 3-4 emp and could put the rest on shadw arts and shields

I'm not seeing the problem. Static grenade prevents people from abusing energy regain (mainly techmages and tactical mercenaries.)
Remember for static grenade to work, the opponent needs to have energy (same goes for static smash). While battery back-up doesn't require your opponent to have energy, so it balances out.

The only problem I see with static grenade is the scaling with tech.

Bounties can 5 focus and abuse tech and get multiple advantages out of it including:
>Smoke
>Static Grenade
>Robot Damage
>Resistance
>Deflection Chance


I would suggest making it scale with either support or strength. (scaling with Dexterity wouldn't make much of a different to the average player's build)

I Do realize there are also problems with scaling with Strength and support, but not as many problems as scaling with dexterity. Or maybe even give it a fixed rate.

actually maybe dexterity could work as the stun and multi have never been op skills ever lol and blocks aren't affected by shadow arts (support is a bad idea as you're just beggin for a str, tech and support build and literally very little would change in the build)

I see your point. Multi-shot and Stun Grenade is pretty much a lower level combo for new people that don't understand the dynamics completely.

However, I was factoring in the 'tank' of bounties. The average lvl 35-36 bounty defenses are:
Defense: 26-32 +5
Resistance: 26-32 +5

or

Defense: 20-24 +10
Resistance: 30-36

or

Defense: 24-29 +6
Resistance: 26-32 +4

Making the static grenade dexterity improving, wouldn't change it much.
But I do get what you mean with the Support and strength problems.

honestly other than the bug where the grenade regains more than it stole i think the bounty hunter class is complete and now is the time to work on other classes i was just trying to go with the next best thing if the devs are persuaded otherwise and i think that'd be a pretty solid tweak

I think it should be fixed, but have ~+5 pts (more?) of drain at cap than at lvl 2.

Static should have an energy cost. Having a 0 energy max EMP with half gain every 3 turns is kinda OP LOL.
In fact, Static Grenade makes skills such as Battery Back Up, Static Smash, Atom Smash, and Cyber Static ABSOLUTELY USELESS.
Everytime I see other classes use their energy drain skills, it just makes me laugh because I know the Static Grenade is coming like a slap in the face LOL.

Make the drain weaker too. It should be like EMP but with 50% drain and 50% gain.

because if it's your first day in this game and you don't know.

IT IS the counter for those skills.
on the other hand they are also the counter for it.

if you waste your energy and just think battery will get your energy back this skill main purpose was to give you a slap in face.
but if he rushes for it you can give him a slap in fce using them.

at last i think it has a tiring problem being on the 2nd tier skills were it should be on 3rd or 4th tier to match other draining skills.
simply replacing it with stun grenade is enough , for the stun grenade to be as overload and bunker and for emp to be on same tier with battery or static smash or assim or energy parasite (if it will be replaced with poison after being replaced with stun grenade with prequition to mark of blood instead of stun grenade on poison)

46 energy drain is weak? lol...that's like my whole energy pool...for 0 energy cost...my energy is gone???

lol i mean before the update i could do the same thing for 12 mp so i don't see your point i never even said it was weak i just said they made the steal weaker as my cyber hunter has a lvl 5 emp that takes the same as my bh and my bh has more tech and uses more skill for it

for your information, it it really hasn't as bounties couldn't do much damage unless they had a decent strength focus when the game started while mercs and tech mages could so it was a defense mechanism that bhs eventually adapted to

How do you make this skill weaker without gimping the energy they recover back? As it stands I find free mark of blood and smoke far too unfair to be left as unchecked as it is. I have several 33s and a 36 and on all characters all they ever do is high smoke, then static grenade, they won't even bother to try to adapt to my build, their tech abuse build works against every build.

i find free bunker and plasma bolt and overload and double strike and bludegon and malfunction unfair to be left as unchecked as it is.

if a skill regains energy then the other skills are free ?
battery doesn't have a cost either nor needs enemy to have energy and regains more than double this one gets , and you think this one really gives free skills ?
it's a counter to it as much it is countered by it so don't play badly and say that ability counters mine.

this ability can be countered by malf or assimilation or static smash or parasite (kinda) or battery.
