Scyze -> Robots (12/14/2013 8:05:38)

Robots are different, luckily, and some are more useful than others. Now Robots on their own aren't good; without Focus, Robots can be useless. However, the Infernal Android can deal a good amount when used with Rage, without Focus. On this thread, I'll be trying to talk about some common Robots (not including the damage type). I'll also be linking the Robots to its page on the Wiki and when the Robot has two damage types, I'll be linking it to the Energy version. Everything you're going to see is from my point of view. You can disagree with it or agree with it. - Damage output
- Effect
- Poison
- Extra damage
- Disabling
- Nerfing
Assault Bot This was the first Robot introduced; the Physical version was introduced in Delta. With the lowest damage of +15, it doesn't seem to be used heavily like in the past. This Robot did get nerfed, like all Robots, but the nerfs might be the reason to why not many people use it. First off, its Special, Cleanse, only gets debuff down by 65%. It used to be 80%*. Nowadays, the debuff values are higher than it was in the past. When someone uses, let's say Smoke Screen, and lowers your Dexterity by 40, this Robot only gets rid of 26, leaving 14 still being taken away. If it was 80% rather than 65%, then you'd be left with -8. The difference is only 6 Dexterity points. When talking about the damage it deals, it seems to be low. When used, it still deals the same amount of damage as the Infernal Android. SO the reason why people don't use this Robot is because of its Special. Yeti This is the Robot which evolves. When it evolves, it gets stronger. I have seen quite a few of these Robots being used in battle, more than the Assault Bot. The damage it deals is +16 then to +17 and finally +18. The Yetis are one of the most offensive Robots you can find in EpicDuel - and the most expensive. Once it's on its final evolution, its Special 'Chomp', deals 85% damage; when on the first two evolutions, it only deals 60%. The damage it deals increases with each evolution. Yes, we all know that! The Yeti have the highest damage of +18 on the final evolution. This is something people will be happy to have, but what puts people down is how hard the training was in the past. The final evolution is something I personally want because it deals a lot of damage and I need to deal a lot of damage because my offense is low. The Special, Chomp, is good when against players who use ranged attacks - Glass Cannon builds. However, you can also use this to force the opponent to use Strike or something else. This Skill requires you to think of when the best time is to use it. You could think that you're about to win, but the opponent the Special forcing you to strike. Sometimes, this Skill works like Azrael's Will when the opponent has no Energy or has already used their Robot. [:D] Hazard Regardless of how much damage you deal with it, most people only seem to use it for Poison. When the opponent's HP is low, then you start to use the normal attack. I do this because there isn't much point poisoning the opponent when they have low HP. Plus, when I could kill the opponent in 2 turns, I'll have to wait longer to kill him - something I don't want to do. The damage this Robot deals is just +17, the second highest damage and the most common. Along with Poison Spores, it's a great Robot. With the latest nerf to this Robot's Special, it's only weaker by a few HP and an extra cooldown. Although some Classes have their own version of Poison, I think that it's better to use this Robot if you have a Focus build. It's got good damage output and the Special is also good. Poison Spores is very useful. Against builds with high defences, you cannot deal a lot of damage if you're not offensive. With this Special, if you have high Technology, you can inflict a lot of damage over 4 turns. It has been nerfed, like every other Special, it doesn't matter how much damage it deals. Most players have now moved on to use another Robot. This Robot was common, along with the Infernal Android, but now, I don't see this Robot as often as in the past. It's a good thing that people aren't just sticking to one thing because this just makes the game boring for them. Infernal Android This was (and somewhat still is) the most common Robot in-game. It deals one of the lowest damage with its normal attack (like the Assault Bot) but its Special is what people want. You don't need to be smart to use this Robot. You just keep using it's normal attack until a certain point. With Rage, you can deal over 45 with the Special - it's not like the past where you could deal 55+. Some people have managed to hit 80+ with this Robot (critical, Rage + Infernal Interdictor's Massive Strike) in a Juggernaut battle. This Robot did get nerfed a lot. People constantly said it was OP because the Special dealt a lot of damage. Well, the main reason to it being OP was because it was used with Rage. I also used to use this Robot with Rage but I stopped because I decided to Poison the opponent. What else is there to say about this Robot? Its Special can only be used once per battle; while in the past, it could be used unlimited amount of times. After a lot of nerfs, this Robot is balanced. The normal damage it can deal is only +15, the lowest. While using the Special, if you would normally hit 50, the highest you can hit would be 65 (130%). It's quite high, but are we ever going to see that number being achieved constantly like in the past? I haven't covered every single Robot because it's very time consuming; they are also not so common. I hope that you guys realise that every Robot is different. Some Robots are better than others and there's the variety. Robots are good for different things. If you need to counter tanks, Poison is the answer. If you want to counter Poison, have high HP. Each Robot has counters because people found them. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do to make the opponent not use their Robot. The best thing you can do is have high Dexterity or Technology to block or deflect the Robot's normal attack. *I am unsure about this. The percentage could be 85.
