I feel that this is a problem. NPCs still have their passives and they should be removed entirely. It isn't fair that they would be able to use them when we cannot. It makes it harder to fight NPCs that are your level. Do you think they should remove passives from NPCs? Why or why not.

Ranloth -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 18:17:04)

Devs have said it won't likely happen due to their AI. They cannot use a Shield when debuffed (or don't), Heal at certain percentage of their HP, and overall, are dumber than the player, hence why they are keeping their passives but had their damage lowered.

If they get them removed, NPCs would need a buff in other areas - they'd be left with attack + damaging skills.

GearzHeadz -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 18:46:40)

Well to be fair, they usually aren't bound by skill trees and usually can use a variety of skills that go great together. Like cheap-shot, berserker, double-strike. They can typically use very powerful skills. And a lot of them have side-arms and auxs.

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 19:13:19)

I'm with Gearheadz on this one. While the AI aren't as smart as players, their enormous hp/mp and ability to have unrealistic combination like reroute and blood lust should make up for their intelligence. If need be keep reroute on them but to make them so strong AND give them permanent blood lust? C'mon now.

Dual Thrusters -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 19:29:46)

It should at least be mark of blood and battery backup to keep up with the current system

Wootz -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 19:57:06)

I just finished an NPC spree for the Omega Yeti and Dark Warrior Yeti missions. And it's not really that big of a difference.

GearzHeadz -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 19:59:00)

Your level? If you are a higher level it won't affect you that much, as there aren't many leveled npcs to 35 or 36.

Wootz -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 20:30:26)

Capped.

GearzHeadz -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 20:31:05)

And the levels of the npcs you were fighting?

Wootz -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 20:38:45)

36, 35 and 30.

GearzHeadz -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 20:48:20)

Who were the 36 and 35?

Wootz -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 21:15:42)

Titan and Frost Demon. Just did Admin 10 with Tainted Blade, it was easy.

GearzHeadz -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 21:19:17)

Did you modify your builds to beat admin 10?

Wootz -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 21:24:13)

I'm using a Strenght-Tech 5 Focus with Omega Dark Yeti. And yes, I ranS trenght BH before.

Ranloth -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 21:25:27)

Uh. Bosses do often require different builds - these have much higher difficulty than standard NPCs. Whether it's before or after passives were removed, Bosses often required you to change your build unless your build was good enough.

GearzHeadz -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 21:25:36)

Then I guess you're just super awesome and don't even need to be commenting in the balance section you're so good.

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 22:23:56)

I argue that bosses should be beatable on all classes, I would not be surprised if said person beat a boss using Tech mage or maybe tact since they can break Npcs by going full tech/dex and then spaming Battery backup. Not all classes share the luxury. As I've always complained about there shouldn't be a "Class Requirement" to beating Npcs. How is this fair?

Dual Thrusters -> RE: NPC Passives (12/14/2013 22:47:04)

Um, any class can beat NPCs, it's just that it's easier with TM and TacMerc

Wow, I'm surprised you didn't say BM. They're good for NPCs in general, and definitely a god at boss-killing. Energy parasite heals so much energy per turn you are constantly underbudgeting your spending of energy. And they can apply MoB too, which definitely helps against 2v1 bosses.
