Remorse -> Intimidate buff (12/21/2013 6:53:34)

Intimidate is in major need of a buff,

Even if you spam support and get a descent level in intim it doesn't even make STR builds flinch...

Partly due to the fact STR is only part of the damage from strikes when the main side of it is the high weapon damage.

It would be better is intim reduced end primary and gun damage.

Therefore instead of having the take 30 STR on the stats, it would show something like take 100 damage on the primary and gun total damage figure.

It is pretty weak skill now. i noticed that too. Debuffs is much better than this intimitade.

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: Intimidate buff (12/21/2013 6:59:57)

Wait, people now just noticing how much garbage intimidate is? I thought it was just me lmao !

Steel Slayer -> RE: Intimidate buff (12/21/2013 8:05:48)

How about having Intim take a % of total primary damage? Say, 25% at level 1, 50% at level 10? That would make it a lot more useful on Str builds without making it OP against casters and focus builds.

Scyze -> RE: Intimidate buff (12/21/2013 8:55:29)

@Steel Slayer,
I like that idea but the percentage is a bit too high at level 1. Perhaps it should be 13% at level 1 and 30% at level 10?

Remorse -> RE: Intimidate buff (12/21/2013 9:12:26)

As long as it still improves with support though.

I'm not sure having it based of percentages means they can improve it with support.

If they can then that would be a good way to go as well.

Steel Slayer -> RE: Intimidate buff (12/21/2013 9:24:23)

@Scyze, I could live with that if scaling was decent, remember the thread is about giving the skill a buff. But yeah, my numbers were maybe a little high. We also need to keep in mind how this could affect skills like Bludgeon or Double Strike, which multiply off weapon damage not total damage. How would that be handled?

Remorse -> RE: Intimidate buff (12/21/2013 9:26:54)

^ Half the problem is those skills aren't effected enough.

So if it the total primary damage was effected then hopefully that would make intim good enough.

Scyze -> RE: Intimidate buff (12/21/2013 9:35:56)

But for 10 Energy, you want to reduce the attack by 25%. Yeah it seems fair, doesn't it? Plus Double Strike costs 15 Energy for 15% extra damage, it's not going to be fair.

Steel Slayer -> RE: Intimidate buff (12/21/2013 9:48:27)

Scyze, calm down man, I already admitted my numbers were probably too high, I forgot about support scaling. No need for the sarcasm.

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: Intimidate buff (12/21/2013 10:35:29)

What about a portion of primary weapon damage? Similar to how Deadly aim was, it simply reduces that.

Level 1 - Reduces 1 Primary / Sidearm damage

Level 10 - Reduces 10 Primary / Sidearm damage

This makes it easier to control and motorize than something that improves with a stat.

Remorse -> RE: Intimidate buff (12/21/2013 10:38:31)

^

It also makes it boring and uncreative like so many other skills.

Having it improve with support is it's bread and butter and is what makes support builds actully viable for BMs and mercs, taking that will greatly harm variety.

It also means the skill will become a tool to abuse by the very build it is trying to counter, if it doesn't improve with support most lkely STR builds will get the best benefit because they will deal the most damage with the strike to cast it and get as much STR reduction as any other type of build.....

Hope that clears up why it needs to improve with support.

Steel Slayer -> RE: Intimidate buff (12/21/2013 10:44:24)

^Exactly

Nexus... -> RE: Intimidate buff (12/21/2013 17:01:25)

Reworked Intimidate:

Strike, reducing your opponents strength by 12 (+2 per level), and decreasing their primary damage by 15% (+% per level, MAX 30%)

The strength debuff scales with support, the percentage does not.
