Who misses this? I know I do.

PyroxideED -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 2:44:22)

Good Ol' Delta Destroyer.

AQWorldsFarmer -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 2:51:57)

i was refering to the old stat system. :P

Mother1 -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 3:03:45)

I miss that a lot.

Back when weapons weren't just for show if they didn't have cores. it made the game a lot more strategic especially with builds since you needed to get specific weapons to make certain builds work unlike now.

They basically made everything like the beta promo weapon [:@]

AQWorldsFarmer -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 3:04:54)

Yeah, I wish epicduel could make another version with delta's (or gamma's) game-play

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 3:44:06)

While it did limit control of the player like being forced to abandon a favorite armor (BIOMAGE ARMOR FTW) and replace it with new armor it did give me a sense of progression and did allow for every item in game some form of use rather than 95% of the gears now being pointless. I too miss the old system.

AQWorldsFarmer -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 3:50:48)

In all hope this is just a testing phase and wont be a permanent implement.

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 3:55:59)

There was always something about hitting level 24 and 30 that made all the pain you went through worth it when you were finally able to wield that badass sword but now, everything can be obtained asap, or, you can go bout with just the starting gear. Since skills unlock at level 10 I don't see where the motivation to care about high levels is at now. There isn't anymore reward for a days hard work now.

Pemberton -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 6:32:49)

I don't miss enhancements at all. Beating up on non variums 40 stats lower than you is just inhumane.

axell5 -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 6:47:03)

never missed enhs and glad they're gone. They were too expensive for nonvars and an oportunity for vars to get high win % with ease

JariTheMighty -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 7:33:53)

I think I miss NPCs the most. Especially with the crooked balance as of now (and almost always :P) it would be nice to take a little break from all the mess and be able to do a few NPC battles once in a while.

martinsen5 -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 9:02:12)

I honestly never saw what was so great about the enhancement system. Sure I owned weapons with the highest possible damage back then, and they were left equal to everything else when Omega came, which I wasn't so happy about. But now that I think about it, being able to use any weapon without restrictions is way better and I don't see how anyone can miss this.

bestia immortalis -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 10:34:49)

I miss the fixed stat system a lot. There were a high variety of weapons and often you could tell what kind of build your opponent was using just from looking at the items he used. It also made build copying a lot harder than it is now. You had to buy the weapons or similar ones to be able to have that OP build. Nowadays, you can simply change the stats and retrain just for 650 credits total and boom you have the overpowered build everyone is using. This destroys diversity.
The enhancement system however was very unbalanced and I'm glad that got removed.

Lord Noonien Soong -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 10:46:23)

Yeah that stat system was the best in them days :/

GearzHeadz -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 10:51:15)

It was indeed a very unbalanced system.

Chosen 0ne -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 11:16:38)

That picture just makes me stressed. I don't wanna go back at all.

Q...Q -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 15:06:54)

Man it took time to get the thing fix for me

Its a damn huge thing to get back after like 2-3 months of changes and see these bigggggg numbers and like that on my screen

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 16:34:07)

It seems like of course, some of you are only focused on enhancements therefore all of Delta was bad? Surely enhancements stunk, surely the price to upgrade stunk but imagine if the price for upgrade was reduced dramatically. Imagine if varium users didn't have bonus stat levels they could gain over non vars. If they had fixed the enhancement system I think Delta would've been great. The fixed stats on gears kept balance issues at a minimal. Immediately after players were given the option of free stat roaming players immediately went to 100+ stat abusing. Counterproductive I would say.

Stabilis -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 17:00:39)

Do I miss having obsolete equipment and sinking money into enhancements? No. Of course. I do, however, miss most of the currency lost when enhancements left.

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 17:45:37)

@ Depressed Void

When you think about it, we can purchase gears now clean, no enhancements whatsoever. Any armor in the game can have 0 defense and 0 stats, every gear can have full 100 defense and 19 stats. Is this not in itself the same system of enhancements of the days of old just re skinned? This is how I see. We are still paying for enhancements they just look different.

Dual Thrusters -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/25/2013 20:47:58)

Do I miss all the fact that all of the gear I had access to limited my builds? Because high level non-vars only had like 4 accessable weapons, which had randomly messed up stats? Not to mention they had only like 6 enhancement slots, where upgrading just 1 of them would leave you poor?

Well I did have an enhanced Delta Knight...but still...

Hmm..no, I don't miss any of that at all

AQWorldsFarmer -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/26/2013 10:48:55)

I miss this fixed stats because it required owning multiple items to try different builds (harder to hop from op build to op build because not many people mad more than 1 of each item).

I for one, DO miss the stat system. Yes, it was extremely expensive for nonvariums.

This would have been an easy fix. Just low the cost.. (I suggested 1k creds per enhancement or 150 varium)

However, the reason I don't like Omega the most is because each class now has 2 builds.

In delta: Weapons had requirements and fixed stats.
1,) These fixed stats and requirements encourage people to incorporate new skills/strategies into builds.
2.) You couldn't do extreme abuse because with items that gave you a lot in one stat required stat investments into its counter stat. (most Tech <-> Strength and Dex <-> Support.)

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/26/2013 18:11:35)

@ Above

This, why do you guys keep focusing on how expensive enhancements were? They could have fixed that so easily and kept the same system.

Scyze -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/26/2013 18:30:24)

Apparently there would be a time where the game was full. Full as in, it had reached its cap to the amount of things you could put into EpicDuel. Enhancements took a lot of space on the database because of the data it held, if Enhancements were still here in Omega, there wouldn't be a lot of new things. Unless the game upgraded or changed, there was no way to continuously add things in.

If EpicDuel does make each Weapon have its own stat points, that would be great to see! This would separate builds and if you don't have the item, you don't become as good as the creator of the build. This, however, is still not enough to guarantee that build copying disappears.

Yes I miss the Enhancements, I also miss the fun I had with it. There comes a time when we have to change and sometimes we might not like the change. It's how we deal with the new change, if you cannot adapt, then you know you only have a few difficult choices. You can stick with the game, leave the game for a while or quit the game forever.

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Flashback- who misses this? (12/26/2013 19:10:30)

I would just like to point out that I miss that probably the most from old phases of ED. New releases with new weapons were particularly exciting for me because they could help me create certain builds that were otherwise much harder to make. For example, spectral and harvest reaper enabled me to make some uber-strength and uber-support builds with amazing stat requirements that fit what I wanted perfectly. Too bad they don't have this old system anymore :/
