The new weapons are really underpowered compared to the other weapons in the game. Since every weapon can do the same damage (if you're the same level), that isn't the issue.

The issue is that locked core on the weapon. Why do we have to wait til we have 20% or lower health to use this? We might as well buy a regular sword and get Meteor Shower

for relatively the same damage. And we can use Meteor Shower whenever we please.

I'd say buff up the core to 130% or add something like a %10 chance to crit. Because if we have to wait til 20% health to use it, (basically 1 hit and we're dead), we should be able to do more damage than Meteor Shower.

GearzHeadz -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 13:39:02)

Are you kidding? Its strong. It does 120% 125% damage. Meteor shower does 110%. Sometimes cores are just locked. You chose to buy it. It also includes a strong bot so its not just the weapon core that you pay for.

Ranloth -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 13:43:46)

It does 125% damage, not 120%. Same cost as Meteor cores, but bonus damage for the health requirement.

DarkDevil -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 13:50:47)

actually 125% damage for 100 energy.
20% is actually to make it risky , you don't usually go under 20% just 0 from 30%.

if this is a complaining about a promotion then it should go into the discussion section for better feedback.

but i don't think anyone here can put it on any standard for balancing since we are comparing a 2.5 effectiveness for the cost of having > 20% hp.
highest effeciency i have ever seen , after all its just a core.

maybe 120% for 25% hp ?

VanitySixx -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 13:58:36)

The bot is not the problem Gearz, besides the Energy bot is glitched to doing only Physical atm, but 125% is not that big of a difference from 110%.

Let's say your damage from a strike on the enemy is 250 (no debuffs), Meteor will do around 275 damage (more or less). The bot would do around 315 damage (more or less) but you have to be nearly dead to use it.

And if you're nearly dead, half the time you don't even use the core. You heal because sometimes you just can't do enough damage for the kill yet. So why wait all that time for something like that?

The numbers may LOOK as if 275 is a big difference from 315. But divine them by 10 (like the old days) and you'd get around 27 damage for the meteor and 32 for the bot (to make things look more simple).

All I'm saying is, that's it? The bots are cool and all but the core needs a SLIGHT buff, but not in damage. Maybe not the 130% that I listed before, but a higher % to crit or even a 10% heal bonus from damage would be nice.
Idk..

OFF TOPIC: Too much Divine Execution

DarkDevil -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 14:12:01)

as i have already mentioned its a 2.5 effeciency on a core , not a skill.

if you are unstatisfied with the current effect you should head to complain at the discussion section , as none here can determine the power of the requirement since we are dealing with something unique.

killerman164 -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 14:17:10)

I agree with this, who in the heck would use the hawk, even if someone were to use it. It still requires 100 energy, a better idea would be if this core didn't cost any energy. Otherwise, it's a completely 1/100 chance to use it, otherwise, you'd have to be very lucky to use it at the right time.

martinsen5 -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 14:33:18)

The core is useful in situations where both players are on low health, and the person with most damage output obviously wins. I'm currently using the sword but I don't find it very useful as my build only has 45 strenght... but I can see it be useful for other builds like the high HP and strenght BH.

Calogero -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 14:35:09)

Maybe it's Balanced but due to other OP cores, it feels UP?

FrostWolv -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 14:40:17)

Well I this this core has a purpose ... and as stated is suppose to work on critical hp ... therefore it is certain build oriented .... thus adds variety in this game. It is never like every promo should have a must use skill in all builds.

Besides in reference to your calculation

normal strike --> 250 damage
meteor shower --> 275 damage
Hawk Guardian -->313 damage

thus Hawk guardian atleast serves better than meteor shower as it can deal more than 20-30 and upto 60-70 damage if someone wants to waste 100 energy on core but in rage it is lethal

I have seen today my teammate not hitting opponent coz he didnt want to get hit by rage Hawk guardian .... resulting in more longer fight in 2v2 -.-"

EDIT: some typos

martinsen5 -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 14:41:05)

Something I will say however, is that we now have higher HP, (also higher dmg output fair enough) so it is now easier to survive by a small amount of HP. The same goes for having less than 20 % HP left, making the core a bit of a hassle to use, hence I suggest an increase to 25 % or something similar.

DarkDevil -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 14:56:08)

actually we don't have more hp , they just made us see the decimals instead of rounding them up , and removed the dot.

also increasing the amount of hp needed will destroy its purpose.

it the last hope of a dying warrior , you must use it when you are to die next turn.

also 100 energy isn't that big , its like most other cores , but the idea of making it cost no energy could work , but i am not sure how that would turn balanced as it might reduce the effect to 115-120% to keep it balanced.

Scyze -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 14:58:19)

But there are people who don't have high HP. You can't just buff up the Core because a lot of players have high HP when there could be the same amount of players with low HP. If the Developers nerf BHs, don't expect people to stay being a BH unless the nerf isn't massive. I've only seen Classes with debuffs (BH and TM only) have high HP while others seem to just have low HP.

Plus I think that balance between Classes should be fixed first before anything. If you buff up this Core, players will just buy it because you're going to deal a lot of damage. As soon as this Core gets stronger, this applies for all Cores, other players will say that some other Core is UP. To prevent that, you need to keep some Cores at how they are regardless what players say.

If you don't like the Core because you have to wait until you have less than 20% HP, then simply don't use the Core. Just buy another Sword and buy another Core which deals extra damage.
Hawk Guardian is useful when you, and your opponent, have low Health. You could use this Core when the battle is long and just use it to deal extra damage. It's also unblockable and it's stronger than Meteor Shower (by 15%) so what's the problem?

martinsen5 -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 15:08:09)

@Scyze, I don't have a problem with the core myself, as I'm using it. But I have indeed experienced having 145 HP left when 144 HP or less is required.

@DarkDevil, People who had 100 HP now have 1000, that is obviously more than before, even if damage was increased as well and it works no different from before in terms of the lenght of battles.

GearzHeadz -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 16:17:46)

It is a situational core. Like you said, if you don't want it, don't use it. The varium you got from the promo will be more then enough for helping buy a new weapon with a meteor core. Some cores just require more strategy, like critical heal, another example of a situational core.

Pemberton -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 21:43:19)

Promo cores should not cost energy imo. As a paying customer, I expect to be able to use the cores I buy when I want to.
Right now, it is a slap to my face that I cannot use my azrael cores and blood hawk cores because of energy cost being too high.
I buyed promo cores for to use them not to just to see "Cannot use core, not enough energy"

GearzHeadz -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/25/2013 21:45:26)

Because it doesn't overpower you it isn't fair. 'K

martinsen5 -> RE: The New Promo Package (12/26/2013 8:49:05)

@Pemberton, The advantage you get is that you have these cores and can use them, whilst those who didn't get the promo, don't. It isn't a "slap to your face" because all cores, including free player cores, now have energy costs as well. Either Charfade or Nightwraith mentioned in a stream that they will be altering the costs, though.

Varium is no longer needed to win. It saves time and thats what its for. not for power. however, some cores and robots do serve varium users extra power.

varium =/= power
