TJByrum -> RE: How do you make/submit a bio? (2/2/2014 12:14:15)

My typical format goes a little something like this: quote:
Name: Age/Race/Gender: Appearance: Armor/Clothing: Weapon(s): Other Items: Skills Abilities: Personality: History: I try to keep them short, without to many subjects, but still maintain enough information to get an idea of the character. As you can see, I always combine the Age/Race/Gender into one whole subject. I also divide my physical appearance and my armor/clothing so as to keep it as neat as can be; some people tend to include the physical appearance within the same subject as what they wear, which I don't like, so I keep them separated. Notice I also divide Skills and Abilities; I see skills as mental or physical abilities, such as 'tactician', or 'swordsman', and 'agile'; Abilities would include magical powers, which I almost never have. I tend to run through history pretty quick. To me, a character's history is a living, breathing subject that could (and should) change. I like the idea of figuring out this characters history as I roleplay, but I still include a short history anyway. I like to RP and think "Hm, wonder what crazy adventures this guy went on", rather than just list those events in the History section. EDIT: I have a typical archetype of the characters I like. So when it comes to writing out a bio, I already have a general idea of what I want. I've made well over 10 bios for the exact same character, he's just been in different worlds or situations. This character is Torik. Torik has evolved from Torik, to Toric, then to Joric, and now I might start just using Jorn. I already know who 'Torik' is, so I can quickly adapt him to any RP I join.
