D Fense -> Alpha & Beta Cores (2/16/2014 18:35:14)

Thought id put this out there for suggestions but since the release of Omega and the new 'balance' that it was meant to bring around something has been annoying me for the whole time and had stopped me playing for awhile. This is the fact that for us Users, that have been around since the Alpha and Beta, but what has our reward for helping the game out in the early stages gone to? I mean before Omega Alpha and Beta gear were beneficial in that it had no requirements for skills and it also had a high enhancement slot. This and the plus 8 to both tech and dex. Dont get me wrong i enjoy the look of the Beta gear and still use them now but still were is my reward?? my suggestion is that they should give the items special cores that rewards us players that have been supporters since the beginning. What are peoples thoughts?

s0u1ja b0y -> RE: Alpha & Beta Cores (2/16/2014 18:44:34)

I'm an alpha player and as much as that would be nice, not supported. Cores would be op making beta and alpha players dominate or up and being just useless. Also what if you bought cores on beta or alpha weapons? Would they just go away?

Ranloth -> RE: Alpha & Beta Cores (2/16/2014 18:46:50)

We had our advantage, just let it go now. Free Bike, free Varium, buffs to Founder Gear, just stop. No, we do not deserve another core and no, it will not be implemented - it's classified as buffing promos and there's a policy against that (unless it's deemed necessary).

How about those who have put cores onto their Founder Gear? Would they get a refund of Credits because new core would replace them? What if I want to take the core off but can't (or I can and lose it forever)?

It won't happen. We don't need yet another buff. Years worth of buffs and rewards should've been enough.

Edit: Aaaaaand I got ninja'd.

Xendran -> RE: Alpha & Beta Cores (2/16/2014 18:49:50)

@D Fense: Implying that forum users won't immediately assume that the core is OP and disregard the idea even though it could be a locked 110% primary damage core with a unique animation.

So basically, supported if it's a locked 110% primary damage core with a unique animation.
@Below: Stat cores are nuuuuuts. Too powerful to come permanently locked on an exclusive weapon.

I know what you mean by being op however i mean a skill core that is relevant to the alpha and beta weapons so like having a +6tech and dex core or something along those lines. in terms of if you had cores in atm i would say that to all the Alpha and Beta players the Epic Duel creators would just place the cores in your inventory so you could decide to use it or not

Ranloth -> RE: Alpha & Beta Cores (2/16/2014 18:53:11)

Permanent +6 stat cores could still end up being powerful. It's a no, policy is against it and they were released as coreless weapons - adding cores onto them now, is also classified as false advertising and buffing rare promos when it's not necessary.

D Fense -> RE: Alpha & Beta Cores (2/16/2014 19:00:06)

I know it might not be a popular idea however why should pretty much all new event items have cores and Alpha and Beta gear dont.....I mean all you see now is mainly people with event items since Omega because of the cores and yet i want to be proud and rock my Beta gear but the cores that i can put in them are seriously underpowered compared to the other cores that are event cores

Ranloth -> RE: Alpha & Beta Cores (2/16/2014 19:15:03)

Well, yeah, I understand being proud of your status, but they were released as coreless weapons. We can apply the same logic to many older promos - Dragon Buster II was a promo and didn't have a core. Not sure if valid but Dread Disruptor was in the Dread War package and they've decided not to put any core on the Gun - just the Aux. Rx for Destruction could be classified as one too.

Should we go back and give them cores too? If you give one, you'll start a precedent and people will use Alpha + Beta buff as an excuse to get other promos to get a buff (coreless ones).

D Fense -> RE: Alpha & Beta Cores (2/16/2014 19:33:42)

I understand that to but Alpha and Beta players were the FIRST people to play the game and support it thats why i believe that they should get at least some appreciation for that fact

Scyze -> RE: Alpha & Beta Cores (2/16/2014 20:51:24)

Free Weapons (+Rarity Points) for Alpha players and a 5,000 Rating Point Achievement...

Like Trans posted, I don't think people will be happy if some promotional packages get a buff, when others also never had Cores.

s0u1ja b0y -> RE: Alpha & Beta Cores (2/16/2014 21:04:18)

Just wanted to point out alpha weapons weren't a promotional package. Everyone got them who had or created a character within the time frame.

Shadow7777777 -> RE: Alpha & Beta Cores (2/16/2014 22:50:26)

@Trans
Well technically, only beta players that paid 30-50 dollars during the time that the founder armor was available received the free bike, varium, and founder gear buffs. Anyone who didn't pay at least 30 dollars during beta did not receive any benefits, and even those who payed 30-50 dollars after the founder armor was gone didn't receive any benefits other than the weapons. So the your argument is sort of invalid as D Fense is asking for a reward to ALL beta/alpha, not just founders. Anyways, I agree with Xendran, a 110% damage core with a unique animation would be cool, but not really necessary.

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Alpha & Beta Cores (2/17/2014 0:12:43)

Sadly enough, Omega devalued many previous promos. Dragon Buster II and Infernal Slayer both had really great stats and/or damage. Eggzookas were the highest stat auxes but Omega turned that around and made them just normal zookas.

And I'm not saying this cause I'm not a founder/alpha tester, but I feel like founders and elites already got a ridiculous amount of stuff. Someone told me there was a point where all elites got the equivalent of infinite varium (apparently the elite reward was so high you could spend all the varium you want and not worry about running out).

D Fense -> RE: Alpha & Beta Cores (2/17/2014 14:02:17)

So there has been alot of discussion about whether we should or shpouldnt have some thigs thrown our way but only really one suggestion for a core. Only @Xendran has given a real suggestion so i thought i might chime in with maybe a core that lowers someone defence and ressitance much like the delta maul lowers an oposition players supprt. What about that?

Mother1 -> RE: Alpha & Beta Cores (2/17/2014 14:29:28)

I have to agree with exploding penguin on this one. Alpha and Beta players have gotten a lot of stuff as it is, and until omega anyone with the beta promo had gear that allowed them to do what everyone else could only do in omega, meaning make any kind of crazy build they wanted due to not having stat requirements on said gear.

Not only this but founders at one point in time had the best if not overpowered armor for a good period of time, and then in delta they got an exclusive founder bike at that. Any alpha player who updated had the perk of infinite varium before the AE brought the game as well. So Alpha and Beta players as said before already got enough things.

So in other words not supported.

8x -> RE: Alpha & Beta Cores (2/17/2014 15:57:39)

I look at my core-less, non-fully enchanted beta weapons with pride and joy, while remembering the fun that they would bring in battles (I'd have to say it was money well spent). They have had their time, I think that there is really no need to slap a core on them.

Nope, it's infinite. Where your varium number is, it says "Elite" and you can buy anything.

It was MASSIVELY overpowered. Like, to the point where every other armor was literally unusable if you had it because you felt bad for losing so many stat/resist points.

Tech Mage:
+8 Technology
+8 Dexterity
+7 Resistance

Level cap was 30 and this was back when varium weapons on their own were already RIDICULOUSLY op. Frostbane had +24 stats and +30 damage, which was also massively overpowered.
