It would be better if each individual person had their own war unlocks. This could be the concept for it. http://twitpic.com/dxrex5

Basically, the more you play the more unlocks you get. As for what goes in the unlock boxes is for the devs to decide. So on each side it would be a win win situation.

But to make it more of a realistic war, the winning side should get a unique reward plus physical changes to the map.

In other words, Influence-based shops, with more unique items in each shop?

I like the concept - even if it's just art, not everyone would be able to get it because they haven't fought enough during the War. I'd be fine with everything but exclusive cores, because of balance - unless they were reskinned versions of existing cores (and the same damage, obviously).

Just not too many shops - more items would have to be created, and this means the Artists could lag behind and not have time to do so. Oh, and give War discount so they won't be overpriced either - also because they need effort to be put it, in order to get those items + Infernal Android is cheap due to being a War item.

And perhaps alignment-exclusive areas of a map? Such as part of the Dread Plains is controlled by Exiles, and all the War rewards - which they've unlocked - can be purchased there. Legion players cannot join it. *of course, these would have to be new areas - not existing ones, so you won't end up locking players out when they shouldn't be*

Exactly. The whole concept of this idea is for everyone to get a reward. Not just the winning side, but the winning side will get even an better reward at the end.

So basically, you get what you play for.

Thishonestly seems like the perfect idea. The more influence you get the more prizes maybe? i love it.

Yep, that's the idea. It would open up opportunities for both sides to get prizes.

But then would it be really WAR?
It would be more like the ester mission with bunny eggs...
And when are wars "FAIR"?
But this is a game it should atleast be enjoyable.
So supported

Cyber Dream -> RE: Individual war unlocks (3/24/2014 9:19:21)

Yes it would still be a war, but the rewards you get from the war depends on how much now play. Also, could you explain to me how the Easter mission was?

Ranloth -> RE: Individual war unlocks (3/24/2014 9:25:19)

Imagine the Individual War Unlocks to be Regional Influence Cheevos. If you fight more, you'll get the higher rank cheevo. Do you need it? No. Now, with exclusive weapons (art) - do you need them? No. (need ≠ want)

It's an incentive to keep playing more. Nothing else.

edwardvulture -> RE: Individual war unlocks (3/24/2014 11:52:12)

Fix balance 1st pl0x. We all know that the hardcore players will get the most out of this, just like the legendary ranks. We shouldn't reward them for using the same OP build to trample other players and continuing the process.

Ranloth -> RE: Individual war unlocks (3/24/2014 12:22:05)

But if it's selling art, I don't think it has any impact on anyone. No one gets an advantage because of this, art being subjective on its own (personal preferences). Should we fix balance before implementing Regional Influence Cheevos too? Oh wait.

edwardvulture -> RE: Individual war unlocks (3/24/2014 13:05:49)

ideally they would have fixed balance before the war, but that didn't happen

Ranloth -> RE: Individual war unlocks (3/24/2014 13:24:09)

Ideally, people would understand by now that balance can't really be fixed. Ideally, they would have fixed it just after the merge with AE - which has likely caused a spike in the playerbase. And so on.

Even if they tried, they wouldn't "fix" it. Why? Because players complain even when something is balanced. IA is balanced now, but players still complain at times. Some seriously complained about BMs being overpowered, and that was only few weeks ago. And so on. If I say: "The game is balanced now because ____ and ____.", you will disagree, right? That's exactly my point here.

edwardvulture -> RE: Individual war unlocks (3/24/2014 13:41:39)

how is IA balanced? no other skill can do that much damage with no energy cost. Blood mages overpowered? on what basis

Ranloth -> RE: Individual war unlocks (3/24/2014 14:03:35)

You've just proven my point right - with "fixing" balance.

edwardvulture -> RE: Individual war unlocks (3/24/2014 14:12:01)

I would agree with this suggestion if they didn't have enough things to reward hardcore players with.

Ranloth -> RE: Individual war unlocks (3/24/2014 14:37:00)

Except, the more you fight, the more shops you'd unlock. It'd be only about art, nothing else. Of course, let's award the lazy ones for their effort, and only them? Or just offer incentive to fight, and more rewards (art-only) for those who fight more.

edwardvulture -> RE: Individual war unlocks (3/24/2014 14:59:50)

Yeah I do realize it would be unfair for hardcore players on the losing side to get nothing out of all their efforts. Therefore, I must support this because I personally have accounts planted on both sides so I win no matter what but that might not be the case for a lot of players.
