Variation -> Adding NPCs to 2v2 pool when the server count is low (3/10/2014 8:14:53)

It's almost impossible at the level cap to get a 2v2 match from 1:00AM - 8:00AM (EST) on weekdays. Today I waited 15 minutes for a 2v2 battle to receive enough players to start (3:30AM EST). I think for each minute no player is found a NPC should be added to the pool. This way you aren't punished by wait times when the server count is low. I have college classes in the morning and afternoon and I'd love to be able to get some battles done when I wake up (usually 3:00AM EST).

I could support this only if a NPC is on each side if one is put in with 2 vs 2.

I remember them doing this in the infernal war, and if one side has 2 players and the other a player with a NPC the result is instant death for the player with the AI.

If it'd be done like Mother1 says, with both players having NPCs and making your total level equal to your opponents'* and revamping their AI drastically, I could support it.

On an unrelated note, this thread shows why drastic changes to matchmaking system cannot be done - 15 minutes wait is a bit absurd, and peak + off-peak times have to be considered - not just for the players in US.

* If their total level adds up to 60 (i.e. L31 player & L29 NPC), and you're Lvl 28, you will get L32 NPC, so both teams have the same level total.
