As you guys know that dex builders are almost impossible to beat because of there blocks and plus the ninja reflex core makes it's more even more impossible to beat them. some times i even need luck to beat them well techically cause of the block/crit chance is broken it makes them OP so what i suggest is to either nerf blocking or nerf overlord.

Mother1 -> RE: Nerf Dex Builds (3/12/2014 10:53:18)

When I come across these builds I beat them as well as many others without using the same build or another overused build as many others. If players have beaten these builds without the need of these or luck that disproves the theory they are unbeatable.

If you are having trouble with dex tech mage use unblockable moves and energy attacks to get around this. Or use a tech build which can counter Dex TM well. Also invest in dex if you aren't since this also helps with the block rate problem you are having.

DarkDevil -> RE: Nerf Dex Builds (3/12/2014 10:57:24)

max block chance with ninja reflex = 39%
block being broken is not something that could be used in the balance of classes/skills.

you could also use gun/ aux/ some bots/ some skills in order to avoid dealing with the block RNG.

edit: also i could confirm what mother1 said , try using another build to counter them , a good resource is the Battle Strategy section.

Ranloth -> RE: Nerf Dex Builds (3/12/2014 11:00:24)

That one is pretty simple - remove the whole "block full attack" and replace with blocks on per-hit basis. Instead of blocking all 3 hits of Berzerker, you have a chance to block each individual hit.
Likewise with Crits and Rage - this would make them a bit better, in conjuction with blockable attacks & less overpowered in some cases. And make cores not exceed the block/deflection/crit cap - it was an awful idea to begin with.

Pretty much the only reason why blocks are game-changing and broken. Deflections can be annoying, but you still deal 50% damage - not block an entire attack. >.>

zion -> RE: Nerf Dex Builds (3/12/2014 11:03:50)

I think its 15% on blocks, so the difference is 35%...

Ruthletic -> RE: Nerf Dex Builds (3/12/2014 11:04:02)

Mother1

Im a bloodmage and pretty much parasite is crap and wont work against any build as you guys all know and im a bloodmage with 60+ dex and pretty much i get blocked all my attacks the only energy move i have is my sword which gets blocked.

DarkDevil -> RE: Nerf Dex Builds (3/12/2014 11:05:36)

@trans , i doupt that will be done easily as the game counts attacks that attack more than once as one attack do they'd have to rebuild the engine to separate each attack into a whole new hit , added to the engine space it would take , i think this would be vetoed by staff untill the next phase of ED.

Ranloth -> RE: Nerf Dex Builds (3/12/2014 11:10:13)

I do believe the ED Evolution will enable them to do such changes. Omega has been pretty much rewriting the engine from scratch, so it may be possible, but just difficult to code (time consuming; requires more time). x10 wasn't possible prior to Omega, hence why it wasn't done until recently.

Unless it's impossible, which we need a confirmation for, I'll always be for making blocks per-hit, just like AQ has it. Much better system.

zzzz.... -> RE: Nerf Dex Builds (3/12/2014 11:20:00)

hi all
no doubt dex mages are ruling, but thats not primarily cos of overload or blocking with high dex. even BH have their sun grenade scaling with dex.

the reason i think dex TM rules are :
1. technician scales with dex, so investing in dex gives you a 3 turn technician which kind of counters your low resistance. its the cost of tech which is important here. (very cheap when compared to others and 1 turn cooldown which exposes you to one hit of attack if you keep on looping tech).

2. more importantly TM have two zero energy skills which can give them energy, assimilate and battery back up. battery back up gives a whooping 350 odd energy.

now problem is when reroute was there energy gained was in small increments and related to damage done which meant if tm goes low on hp, it was unlikely he'd be able to use energy that freely. and hence heal looping and energy regain builds were mostly possible with high hp builds. With battery back HP is out of question.

3. high str high hp builds are possible with all classes but reason TM does well is cos of bludgeon and unblockable fire scythe.

P.S: its not that TM are overpowered, they are bloody efficient as the skill tree , stat progression has just the right balance of attack and defence. you can say TM have hit the sweet spot wrt builds possible.

Darkforce832 -> RE: Nerf Dex Builds (3/12/2014 14:02:28)

60+ Defence is probably around the average most level 35+ would have. So I'm assuming you're around that level. If you have very similar Defence as you're target, expect to be blocked at some points, maybe once or twice in fight.

Also You say you use an Energy Primary weapon, which in itself can be a flaw. If the opponent has good resistance you will do minimal damage, if they have good stats invested in Defence, you're again going to do minimal damage. If you plan to not get blocked, invest more into Defence, try to get at least 10 more then what you would expect you're typical opponent to have.

I myself use a Defence invested build (79+32=111), with maxed Overload and Energy Parasite. I probably get blocked once every three 2v2 fights. I also use a physical primary weapon to rid myself of the primary energy weapon flaw, and energy guns to counter resistance builds if needed. Energy Parasite does need a little something to make it worth it though.

I'm trying to say, you must make you're build with as less flaws at weak points in it as possible. You'll never get rid of all of them, but it's important to try. You're weakness is stated in this thread, Being blocked a lot. Cores, stat investment, and certain skills may aid you.

s0u1ja b0y -> RE: Nerf Dex Builds (3/12/2014 18:51:29)

Dex builds aren't even OP. As long as you have decent tech you win even with stuns.

Elloisoul -> RE: Nerf Dex Builds (3/13/2014 4:44:51)

Dex builds arent strong what you need to do is only not let them regain mp and if you have pyro fly like me you can Disable the usual 5 moves that Dex mages have Stun, multi (Cripling their damage capacities) assim or battery (their energy regain capacity) and field medic( their way to last long) and if ur scared of block theres a LOT of ways to fight them without getting blocked using unblockable moves as well as using guns and aux and bots if u do this for example aux- gun- bot-unblockable move- Gun(Cool down gone) again and aux (CD gone) then bot again then u wont have to worry about dex builds though i mostly play 1vs1 so this apply there but in 2vs2 to fight dex mages you need to apply team work as well as boost ur resistance using boost or tech that way you can lower the damage and counter attack

Noobatron x3000 -> RE: Nerf Dex Builds (3/13/2014 13:35:45)

Firstly dex builds are not op they hhave counter builds unlike certain builds currently floating around .

Secondly

@Elloisoul

Your facing builds that have been copied from others and aren't well thought out if they need there mana to beat you. The common mistake is to take dex to high and leave your selve offenceless without mana

lionblades -> RE: Nerf Dex Builds (3/13/2014 16:31:57)

lol tm dex builds are easy to kill. I find them easier to beat than high hp str TM. Some builds have it easier than others. Especially CH with EMP (4-5), Poison (7-10), and static charge which is an unblockable attack. Tlm does well with poison too (esp. str-poison with E gun & hatchling). Other classes like BH can use energy unblockables and use good drains (static smash etc.). I have used all 6 classes and the only one that has a very hard time against these build is BM but thats only because parasite is mediocre. Dex builds are not OP (at endgame).
