Lionhart Preview
War Buildup

Now that new Dread War is underway and stable, many are already wondering "what's next?" If you haven't figured it out already, our aim is not an end to all war, but to unveil a full-realized regional war cycle. After the Dread War ends, the winner will claim the region, and after a brief cooldown period during which no region is active, the next region will be contested.
While the Dread War is still being heroically fought by Legion and Exile forces, the EpicDuel team is hard at work building out the rest of Delta V to prepare each region for war. This includes new prizes, maps, objectives, items, and in some cases, completely redesigned maps. My hands are already crinkling at the thought. This task will be quite involved but we're confident we can have it completely ready early May 2014. Until that time, updates may be sparse, but we'll be sure to keep you informed of ongoing developments.
Stay tuned to these design notes for updates as reveal hints for the next war region, and the future face of Delta V!

War On!

Project Lionhart

War isn't all we have in store for you! While we continue our war buildup, our artist Revontheus is working on a big release behind the scenes! The plan is to have it ready in May. It will include new weapons, home items, armors, missions, bosses and more. Are you ready for Lionhart?

Previously DN thread deleted. As mention in the rules, take time to fully format the DNs or it'll be deleted.

I'm all for revamps, but early May is roughly ~1.5 months away, give or take. Sparse releases can translate to no releases. No new missions to keep players occupied, nothing - even a random Mission chain to keep us busy. I can't handle the PvP alone, and NPC farming isn't really necessary for me anymore, since I've hit L40 and I don't even care about the Ranks.

Seriously, I do hope we get more than mentioned in the DNs. I'm talking balance wise in particular, because this week's change wasn't too drastic - not one that'd take two months, since January - and January to May is four months, so I'll be expecting something really good. BMs are still meh, some players complain about Str builds + TMs still (and play a little nowadays), so I don't know what to really say about balance. It won't ever be fixed, for various reasons, but there's still no reason to try and get it close to it.

Furthermore, based on these DNs, it seems like a lot of pressure on the Artists whilst the Coders have a little less work to do - and I'm just guessing. Perhaps this allows them to focus a bit more time on balance? Or just split in two, Titan and Rabble, and focus on both as long as it doesn't result in delays.

Thanks for that! ^^

comicalbike -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/29/2014 9:36:32)

well they have not really tried to fix the balance yet so we still hope i will wait

Predator9657 -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/29/2014 11:09:24)

Like Trans said, some random missions to keep us occupied would be good.

Or even balance changes; things always get interesting (strategy-wise) after a balance update.

Also, I hope we get some "tough" bosses like Admin 10 + Exile Leader to fight soon. That release was really fun, and the server numbers were relatively higher for some time.

8x -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/29/2014 11:12:40)

Devs mentioned in the livestream that random missions take up a lot of their time.

Ranloth -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/29/2014 11:21:59)

Well, anything then - but coreless weapons, for obvious reasons. War Revamp is short-lived if there's no goal to work forward to, or rather, no incentive to fight. Missions give you rewards, so you wanna get the reward, thus end up fighting in PvP, and helping in the war. Without them, it's just Influence fight between the top players. Just something to keep us interested and active.

Alts are an option, but even they have finished all the mission chains within their level and difficulty range. I have 5 of them, so that goes to show for something. :/

I'm happy and disappointed at the same time. Happy because more revamps are coming, and they seem pretty big, and disappointed because of the "break", where there's pretty much no releases, apart from possible bug fixes every now and then. I think I've justified it well enough.

comicalbike -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/29/2014 13:26:55)

well when i first started game was fun but not now

Missions generally if you refer to the part where Charfade said that new missions take 1-3 days for testing.

Noobatron x3000 -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/29/2014 13:28:33)

Yeah this just isn't good enough. Since the legend rank release I've got my main from 36-40 ans another toon from 32-38 I've retired my 40 and recently semi retired my 38. Due to

-broken stats
-broken matchmaking
-broken l/e filter
-broken legend ranks
-p2w updates being released when all of the above features aren't fixed.

DunkThatOreo -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/29/2014 14:45:39)

You people act as if this game is your life. Who cares if there won't be any big releases for awhile? This is just a game, there are millions of other things to do in life!

^Not at all its just I used to invest a lot of time and money in this game I haven't since omega because they haven't earnt it. Thing is the more fundamental issues have not been fixed still over omega the more I've eyed up another MMO (cant mention the name ). Perhaps this is why the server numbers are dropping so drastically because ED aren't fixing issues. Other companies are noticing and taking advantage of the gap in the market ED is creating, huge pvp focuses mmo came out recently if ED doesn't shape up they are going to be wiped out.

This is a pvp game just in its current form a really bad one.

Other businesses are starting to bring out good pvp games.

Noobatron x3000 -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/30/2014 1:20:30)

I don't know why people seem unhappy when releases with content slow down.

See here is the deal put simple

This game has a tiny player base

Mostly pvp focused players since the game has decided for its own reasons to introduce none existent pve content compared to others. So when balance is left awful for far to long the pvp players (the larger majority of the player base) start to leave frustrated that the main games focus is broken .

Now if they try to fix this the people complain no content is coming out, so the devs start to release content slowing down balance , The players react "wow awesome" then 2 days later come to the realisation well hang on a minute whats the point in this new content if most of the games pvp and pvps completely broken ?

Leaving the game in a neat little corner no balance scare away most of your player base and have no income coming in . And in turn be in the situation we are now where not only the balance releases are slowing down but the content releases are to.

So I guess they have to decide

don't fix pvp and eventually most of the pvpers will leave as they have been doing slowing the content releases till everyone leaves,

OR

Fix the games core (pvp) because with a broken core game yeah your in trouble, yes slowing down content for a few months may upset a few people , But I think you already know or will soon this game cannot continue like this.

That is all.

Silver Sky Magician -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/30/2014 2:58:07)

@DunkthatOreo

Much as I disapprove of the hardcore, almost 'it is my duty to play this game' mindset that pervades these forums, it is a sad fact that this small core of dedicated players is pretty much all that ED can rely on now, so long as it remains on its current path. Yes, I know the devs have numerous challenges, but they can't just keep avoiding problems forever. Some hard decisions and major shifts in philosophy must be undertaken if this game is to be sustainable, let alone flourish.

Mother1 -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/30/2014 3:29:58)

@ Noobatron

Last I checked every staff member is not a coder or programmer only 2 of the 5 are. So if they were to focus 100% on balance what would Nightwraith, Charfade, and Cinderella do? Last I checked they aren' the programmers like Titan and Rabble are. Nightwraith and Charfade are the artists, and Cinderella is the story writer.

Also the main reason why they don't focus on pure balance, or pure content is because if they did so the thing they weren't focusing on and the players who want that thing would get upset and quit.

Tell them they must focus 100% on balance and nothing else until it is fix then focusing on content would do the following

1 Make those who want content quit due to the lack of it thus making the player base smaller.
2 tick off the players who want balance whenever a mistake is made or balance isn't brought after said change.

This is why they do some of both.

edwardvulture -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/30/2014 3:36:58)

How much of us here are really hardcore? I play like 5 days out of the week for 10-40 mins. I would say I average(considering days I don't play)7 battles each day. I'm on the forums more than I play. Just waiting for that great balance change where build diversity comes back....

Rayman -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/30/2014 3:45:29)

I used to be hardcore and lvl up as fast as possible but now, I Just log in, do a few 1v1 then leave, but somehow this war, makes me play a little bit more, and now I only need 120 exp for the lvl 40.
After I hit the lvl 40, I will go back to my 10 kills a day then Logout, until great balance changes.
I have been using 5 focus sword TM, Winning alot and fast but lossing fast too, Just wanted to use my Gamma bot and Frostbane to remenber the days a bit.

I also dont even feel like reporting the abussive and offensive players, I just say Have a nice day if they say something, Let them kill me, I dont care anymore, But im sure they are not even close, they are miles away to be as good as me and other older players.

GearzHeadz -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/30/2014 12:23:30)

Yeah I'm not hardcore... I just usually play the daily missions for the arcade tokens. Which actually takes a while for me since I am a CH and all the TMs in the game make it take forever to actually get the missions done.

kosmo -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/30/2014 13:04:20)

Ed has 10 hardcore players, it used to have hundreds.And now most of them never go on forums.

Mother1 -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/30/2014 13:14:24)

@ Kosmo

Most of the hardcore players left of became casual at best when Omega started. I myself went into hardcore mode when the infernal war was happening. However due to the state of the game like Gearzheadz I just play to do the daily missions and a little bit for this war. Sadly I don't find this war anywhere near as fun as the old infernal war. It is missing something that the old war had.

kosmo -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/30/2014 14:00:00)

It s missing rewards and reason.The most disappointing thing was to see that you only need 150 influ to get the prize and that s all you can compete for. Since you can buy iunflu they couldn t add any other prize to play for.
We don t want this, we want something like the yeti tournament, but accessible to evryone, where who gets into leaderboard, by SIMPLY DOING BATTLES, wins the cool looking prize.To access the tournament you must buy the ticket that shuld have both var/credit option (with covenience on varium ofcourse).In this way pvp would definetly be exiting for evryone.

Mother1 -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/30/2014 14:04:15)

@ Kosmo

can you say frostland war all over again? This war has become pay to win big time since

1 doing the battle itself awards you no influence (unlike all other battles before this)
2 You can buy bombs and use them without limit as long as you have them.

Not only that, but thanks to this new feature all of the hardworking factions of the past can be easily out classed if someone spends enough money to get the bombs needed to get X amount of influence to outclass said hard working faction.

It shouldn't be this way and I for one am very disappointed in this change.

kosmo -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/30/2014 14:09:36)

This idea of war is wrong to me.They shuld sell with convenince the acces to the competitoin, not the competition itself...

Scyze -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/31/2014 13:37:00)

I'm leaving ED but I still have the goal of having 3 blue stars. https://twitter.com/Scyze_ED/status/450687391775207424

This war sounds cool, I want to play it - but as always the balance issue holds be back. The new balance update fixes a lot of things, but not the ones I want. Anyways, three years of fun were good. I've stayed with EpicDuel throughout Omega (since Beta), Omega has evolved EpicDuel, it has brought new things into EpicDuel, but I don't feel that it suits my taste anymore. Every update, I stay with EpicDuel, I only look at the positive side as much as I can. I don't care about delays on updates because a week isn't enough IMO.

edwardvulture -> RE: =ED= March 28th, 2014 - Lionhart Preview (3/31/2014 16:51:52)
