Lycus -> RE: Promoting Officers to be "incharge" (4/6/2014 17:31:52)

Please check the FSI (Frequently Suggested Ideas) before posting, for any idea the same as or similar to what you are about to suggest. We love players to suggest new improvements for EpicDuel and have been aiming to include as many player driven ideas into updates and to help us guide the future of the game! However, to do this it is easier if we do not receive the same suggestion or sort of the suggestion over and over again. This is not because we do not want people to show support for ideas (because people have the chance to do that in each topic), it is instead so that we can check this section and be able to go through a nice new list of ideas. Now that may sound selfish, asking you to take your time to make our lives easier, however this actually is mainly for the game and players benefit, as well as ours. The time spent reading ideas is deducted from time working on the game and implementing features and player ideas, not a large amount, but it can impact it! So though we absolutely love new suggestions, it is helpful if they are kept new and this is why we have the FSI there to show what has been considered or is being considered and does not need posting :) This idea is incredibly close to 'Founder Step-Down' denoting the Founder steps down to put someone else in charge, an officer to be more precise. The suggestion you are currently making is basically a temporary step-down to let someone else take the lead until the founder can come back or has time once again. The issue with this is that the Faction system is hard-coded in as it is, yes it can be changed, but the coding has been made very secure to keep factions secure. Due to this changing large portions of the faction system, such as the ranks and how they work would take a long time and would be rather hard to change. It also comes with multiple issues including the fact the system has the possibility to be abused, and it could theoretically lead to dominating factions being at the top for much longer than usual, because the leadership can simply be changed whenever needed. Though that sounds great, it would not be fair on newer factions and upcoming factions. In short, it is a nice idea and one we have played around with, it is also one we have came back to on a few occasions. However for now, the time it would take to implement and the core issues it would lead to, they outweigh the positives that come from it. We may come back to it once again in the future and go through it all, but as for now, this is the current stance! Thank you very much for taking the time to suggest something, but due to the above reasons I am going to lock this post up!
