An option where we can choose to turn off chats and pms if we don't feel like talking.

Agreed, it gets annoying when someone wants to talk to you while you're doing something. And you don't want to close the chat otherwise they might have hard feelings about you >>

It could be like Skype, where your buddy list shows Online, AFK, or Do not Disturb.

Yess and I feel bad for telling them "Don't chat me" because I normally never want to chat

If you don't like someone remove them, or tell them I don't want to talk right now, simple as that. If they're your friend they'll understand,
regardless of that, I see no reason for this idea.

Its a toggle option. Just like toggling to see home items or not. I don't see how you can "not support" it. That's like this thread being the option to toggle "house items".
