Lots of people don't run focus builds these days, and with the cooldown increase on most energy-flow moves it's a lot harder to stall out intimidate with them. When I use my yeti it shuts down aux attacks for the whole duration of the buff, and static smash/energy parasite can either just take away energy or force them to use their energy so that they can't use skills during intimidate. They have no choice but to attack and hit less than 100 on you. You could also pair it with azrael's will if you have the core if you have reason to force a strike such as stalling, getting that last bit of rage to finish them, or something else.
