@TFP Combo Bonuses I think. It was when Skexis evo came out.

Oh right! That was pretty cool I guess. The most exciting releases for me are new dual-element characters and of course releases involving new cards, it's been a while since we've had new cards and now that we have a pack for each element except chaos I'm a bit worried we might not see any new cards for a very long time. :S

Gorillo Titan -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/7/2014 19:34:06)

We need some cross elemental earth something else decks we have none right now.

ND Mallet -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/7/2014 19:39:07)

@titan The problem with Earth is that it could easily be too powerful if in a dual element. Neutral gives it access to Iron Hide, which would be horrifying on something like Tyrant Moose considering it hits like a freight train. Energy only makes it hit harder. Water gives it a lot more heals on top of decent shielding, and then it still has all that damage. I wanted the Moose to be Earth/Neutral but after seeing how hard it hits, I changed my mind about wanting it to have stuff like Corruption, Iron Hide, and Power Strike

The Finnish Phoenix -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/7/2014 19:45:52)

Earth/Water should be alright if it weren't given native Healing Springs as per Xmas Elf. Earth has a lot in common with Ice.

ND Mallet -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/7/2014 19:51:20)

@TFP Ice relies on shields to keep them alive to stall for Shatters and Freeze. Earth relies on shields for just trashing the enemy with great damage outputs like Earthquake. Tyrant Moose doesn't deal much damage until he gets some shields up for Crush spamming. The only earth character that plays like an Ice character is Earth Fairy. She too relies heavily on shielding so she can spam Mountain Strikes.

The Finnish Phoenix -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/7/2014 19:57:13)

Come to think of it Earth/Lightning and Earth/Neutral could be viable too if the native Earth cards weren't all that. Sure, it sounds bad if you put Energize/Neutralize on a Moose, but on a Lepid it wouldn't be as game-breaking.

A CC-equipped Tyrant Moose only has 2 Crushes to work with out of 20 cards, so while it's a part of its damage output I find that it can be preferable to discard Crushes and keep your defense while Mountain Striking until you're sure you can win so you can use Crush as a finisher of sorts. I think of Crush as being a bit like Sacrifice in this way.

BJEBLE -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/7/2014 20:23:02)

I think a Neutral character with a lot of defense could use a Crush. It would be pretty cool, imagine instead of a 200 attack on Orc Chieftan, it had Crush. it would make his energy problems a little more manageable and a good finishing move with some Power Strikes.

Gorillo Titan -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/7/2014 20:24:25)

I want an ice character with crush and a mud character with water and earth.

I would use moose more if not for the dull animations.

BJEBLE -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/8/2014 1:10:28)

@Gorillo I would use Moose if I had it.[:(] A Earth/Water would be cool, maybe an offensive character with some Healing Springs. The reason this would work on this one and it didn't on X-mas Elf was that Elf has a lot of shields and just wouldn't die, any damage you did she could shield up or use her healing cards. On this character, it has very little defense other than it's Healing Springs. So if you were in a scary situation, you would have to decide whether you want the heals or if you can finish your opponent off then that.

Gorillo Titan -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/8/2014 1:25:53)

I never used prenerf xmas elf, couldn't be stronger than queen right?

BJEBLE -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/8/2014 3:30:25)

@Gorillo Never really used Elf to its full potential before and I've never tried Queen Aegea so I don't know. At the very least, it was a top 3 ice character.

Kiazz -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/8/2014 5:15:36)

Xmas elf was immortal. The best ice characters use only shields, shatters, and freeze-searching with discards. Elf, well, elf had all of this, plus fresh start, which FORCED two discards. And healing spring by itself is one of the most efficient water cards anyway. The offence was up to par with the best ice characters at the time and the tanking was insane. I don't think I got below 3-4k hp at 20 for any pvps pre-nerf. Queen aegea is okay-ish; you can consistently beat it with mana guardian or any of the other DoT thingies, though.

Edit: This was with CC, though. I think the vanilla-elf was manageable, though I never tried it like that.

Gorillo Titan -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/8/2014 9:38:44)

Try Queen with 2 Corruptions 2 Penance and a Iron hide you'll easily win with full health.

Can't free players do those point things to get sgs?

The Finnish Phoenix -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/8/2014 10:45:51)

Pre-nerf Xmas Elf had the most broken deck since the Freeze x2 decks on Frost Void and Master Barbarian, post-nerf Xmas Elf with CC's equipped can still easily hold its own against any Ice character due to its extra energy reservoir which becomes more pronounced the longer the battle drags on, you just have to CC in the Springs and Shatters now (unless you like Refreshes and Frost Bites lol).

As with most of the best Ice characters, it was just as deadly with little to no CCs since it could cycle Freezes that much faster and its base deck had enough Defends, Ice Walls, and Shatters that if you used them on top of your Freeze you'd be expending all your energy anyway.

25..despite the single neutralize giving 10, and the other two neutral cards? Interesting. Perhaps the amount of heals and shields might make it work.

Yep, elf was most definitely stronger than queen.

The Finnish Phoenix -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/8/2014 10:57:12)

2 Corruptions can be a thing against certain defensive characters since you can save the Corruptions until you have 20 Neutral to use them both at once so your opponent can't numb the blow with defense/heals as easily, the extra Iron Hide idk though.

Gorillo Titan -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/8/2014 11:03:31)

I was going for an unkillable build.

How about a card that randomly changes the element of your deck so when they add stats and weakness and you fight an enemy use the card then boom your not weak against the other person anymore?

EDIT How about a card called invisible chaos gives you a random counter shield for 100 - 1000 that can only be seen on your side of the screen for 11 energy?

Insane2201 -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/8/2014 19:50:24)

No luck for me finding any of the Zirra/Zilla characters or a Tyrant Moose. I've seen a lot of mana guardians though.

Gorillo Titan -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/8/2014 22:45:47)

Does it really matter that we get an amazing chaos character first go?

Make a chaos void a VI colored purple and give its rank ups the stuff Dage just released in AQW and a male and female one.

Lemonus -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/9/2014 3:49:57)

So I lost to BJEBLE.

I also left my Energy CC cards on in that match. While using a Fire character. lol.

BJEBLE -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/9/2014 3:53:35)

@Lemonus I thought there was something weird about that match.....Well I won't put it up on YT then. It wasn't even fair.[;)]
EDIT: Rematch, much more close.

Lemonus -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/9/2014 4:06:26)

I decided not to remove it afterwards anyway. Gonna use Time Gent/Lei to farm for the zirras.

At least I got lucky with NOT drawing them. Which is nice. But I still lost fair. I'd rather you not put any battles with me on YT, since I suck [:)]

BJEBLE -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/9/2014 4:12:49)

@Lemonus You got it.[:)]You weren't that bad, it's just that I stalled so much as Monk that you could barely do anything.

Lemonus -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/9/2014 4:36:13)

One of the reasons I love Neutrals... offensive AND defensive[:)]
