ChaosRipjaw -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 20:19:46)

Neutral: Monk
Fire: Fiend Blade, Infernal Fiend, or Headless Horseman?
Ice: Jack Frost
Lightning: Lei Blades
Earth: Master Rev (currently lvling Revontheus to 10) but at the moment, possibly the Ogres
Water: Beta Pirate/Quatzk
Light: Rainbowtheus
Shadow: Shadow Void

@TFP You still main Xmas Elf even with the Frostbites and Refreshes? Huh, interesting choice. I guess people really like Rebirth Void, although I suspect people's strategy with the character is a bit different than mine. Dwakel is surprisingly good, I really like the old style of energy and how charge efficient it is, so I got my it to level 10, but when I get some SG I'll resume my Archpriest farm because Seraphim is looking really fun.
EDIT: @above HHM seems like the best choice out of those characters but if you get a good strategy out of the other two than that's pretty cool.

The Finnish Phoenix -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 20:24:57)

Yeah, but I CC in Healing Springs and Shatters. :3

Andlu -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 20:26:59)

Void reborn all the way. VR>HHM :3
Oh also Void champion > All

BJEBLE -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 20:30:03)

@TFP Ooooh so it's almost back to it's orginal power, just without the Freeze. But the deck is a bit larger so it's harder to draw the cards you need. Also, how is Dire Monk's strategy compared to Monk? I don't know because I don't have any SG right now.

DeathGuard -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 20:31:03)

Will heed Clintonian's advice and quite surprised to see someone actually chose Lei Blades for Energy main, I really don't like the deck .-.

XMas Elf still has Freeze! The larger deck is true sadly but I still think having the 10 free energy is worth drawing Freeze a little less, especially at higher levels when you can get set up and tank more easily.

Dire Monk is very similar to Shaolin Monk, I mostly like it for its native Empower.

ChaosRipjaw -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 20:39:12)

I only used Lei Blades at first because that was one of my first energy characters :P

I hardly ever use energy characters anymore . . . they don't seem to kill as fast as they used to.

On second thought,

Shadow: Dread Hound

BJEBLE -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 20:40:06)

@Deathguard Clintonian actually prefers Monk as far as I know, and he's very good at it. By the looks of it I'm going to guess the remaining tournaments are going to be in this order: Light, Energy, Neutral. We could also switch the Neutral and Light around but we need the Energy for the break in between some really stalling types of elements.
@Chaos Not being able to kill as fast anymore? What?! We have Volt Engineer and Abyssal Priest and Hex Void! They're some of the biggest damage dealers in the game. If anything, old Energy types can start earlier because they have the double Energizes and lower cost cards.

The Finnish Phoenix -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 20:46:08)

ChaosRipjaw: I believe Volt Engineer is the fastest killer in the game. :P

BJEBLE: clinton's F2P although I agree that Shaolin Monk is a very good character. Some people prefer it to Dire Monk I guess because of the extra Power Strike to help pierce through Neutral's crazy defenses, but I'd rather just Empower a 500 Attack. Also Shaolin's Catlike Reflex is just bad imo. Sacrifice is often bad too, but Catlike is really bad.

DeathGuard -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 20:47:15)

@Bjeble:

@death its very easy to find and capture. Save the gold
I was talking about the advice of better searching Leatherman and saving the 25k gold.

ChaosRipjaw -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 20:48:12)

Oh yeah, I know that. The problem is finding the character in the first place >.<

BJEBLE -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 20:52:17)

@Chaos Leatherface is really common in caves, so he shouldn't be too hard to find.
@TFP Yeah I forgot about that for a second, although the comboes are more easily available with the more 500 attacks on Dire Monk and the 500 attacks are more efficient so you can get off a 3 hit combo with an Iron Hide and shield(Or 2 shields if you used Sacrifice as one of your 500s)

ChaosRipjaw -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 20:55:44)

I know where all the characters are; the encounter rate is the problem.

How common is Leatherface Baghead? I've been killing over and over in the caves for nearly an hour

BJEBLE -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 20:59:30)

@Chaos Really? He's really common for everyone else. Personally, it I encountered him about once every 6 or 7 fights so that's unfortunate you've had to search this much longer. If you have most of the gold characters and all the CC you want than I'd say just buy him.

DidYouKnowThat -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 21:03:47)

@ChaosRipjaw: *cough* Refresh farm *cough*
That's when it comes in handy. :P

BJEBLE -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 21:06:58)

@DYTK Refresh is actually really bad for farming....[:D]Anyways, you can still buy it so no need to put anymore stress on the servers than needed.

The Finnish Phoenix -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 21:09:29)

Just caught Leather Face, sometimes he eludes possession and has stints of absenteeism but he's a pretty normal character I guess.

DidYouKnowThat -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 21:09:29)

Not really. After you get bored of mindlessly killing, falling back to Refresh farming ain't a bad move.
Maybe you can buy it, though gold isn't that easy to come by without XP Boosts. Especially when 1 character is like 25k-50k gold. lol.

The Finnish Phoenix -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 21:10:33)

Not that Leather Face is in any way an essential character to have. [&o]

BJEBLE -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 21:13:38)

@DYKT No I was making a joke, you know refresh farming, Refresh the card. The card isn't usually used ever and therefore not useful for farming.....[8|]

ChaosRipjaw -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 21:14:04)

It is just very frustrating.

Have not once encountered a single Soul Wyvern, Tyrant Moose, or Time Gentleman. Got eluded mercilessly by Human Fisher and Dwakel.

Whaddaya mean refresh farming? Just refresh the page?

I remember the time when Shadow Nomad was a really rare character.

DeathGuard -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 21:53:38)

Found Leather Face and possessed it at the first try. Yay! xD

DidYouKnowThat -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 147 - Read the first post! (6/14/2014 22:55:04)

@Bjeble: Rofl. Didn't get the joke at first look. :P
Now I get it.

@ChaosRipjaw: Indeed. I used to call the nomads as rare "collectables."
They looked smaller in size, so I kind of viewed them as action figures or something. LOL.
And since they were pretty tough to stumble across.
2. Go to World Map.
And yes, Refresh farming is simply this.
1. Log in.

3. Go to the character's location. (The character you want to encounter.)
4. Click Explore.
5. Not the character you want?
6. Refresh.
7. Repeat steps 1 through 6.
8. Voila. You now have completed a cycle of "Refresh Farming."

(edit) It has been linked to a few "server crashes" in Oversoul's history, since it overloads servers, preferably when many are doing it simultaneously.
However, due to Oversoul's current state, I don't believe that just a few people doing it will cause any tangible affects. . .
