The berserker killer -> Stun/Deflect Sets (6/23/2014 13:13:43)

A series of weapons based on Thunder (Stun) and Mirrors (Deflection). I am horrible at art so this is just a suggestion. If anyone is an artist, feel free to take this idea and run with it

THUNDER SET HAS:

Sword: Passive Core with a 3% chance to stun on strike

Aux: Active Core that stuns (puts on hold) all of your opponents moves that requires MP. (Basically Stuns MP)

Gun: Active Core that strikes all enemies and has a 5% chance to stun. (Mainly for 2v2)

Armor: Passive Core that gives you a 10% chance to not be stunned

MIRROR SET HAS:

Scythe: Active Core that allows you to strike while changing the Attribute of your primary (Physical/Energy) to match your enemy's

Aux: Passive Core that has a 10% chance not to be deflected

Gun: Passive Core that has a 10% chance not to be deflected

Armor: Active Core that makes the user immune to all ranged attacks for 2 turns

My reason for this is mainly because we need promos, or even in game weapons, that can solve most of the problems people are having in the game. If people are complaining about Luck, Dex Mages, etc, then why not introduce some cores in the game that will nullify their effects and the best part about this idea is that I don't believe that this will empower tank builds. It will somewhat bring them down.

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Stun/Deflect Sets (6/23/2014 14:02:19)

This would probably go under the stickied items/weapons suggestions thread. Anyways,

The stun sword passive + stun shot + stun blast + stun skill of the class = lots of luck involved in each fight for a stun, otherwise the core is useless in any fight you don't get stuns in.

Silences would be a LOT stronger than one might think. But would be a good idea and fun, however imbalanced.

And I'm only okay with the armor core if it goes down a bit to maybe 7-8% and only applies to skill stuns, not stun cores.

For the mirror scythe, If the core is reusable it could be really broken. If it isn't it's still really strong.

We already have 7% chance of not being deflected cores (aim assist). I don't think we just need a promo-buffed version of it.

I'm supposing the mirror armor applies just to gun and aux attacks. In any case, shuts down support builds really hard.

Overall, I like a lot of the ideas cause they seem fun and interesting, but I don't think they'll be that successful in ED because of the current battle mechanics system.

I almost cried =D that was the best response I have ever gotten on forums from another player that was just straightforward and not destructive... Thank you so much for that!! That just made my day. And I see what you mean, the numbers/% are a little iffy

Jacobfarrow1 -> RE: Stun/Deflect Sets (6/23/2014 14:29:34)

This looks like a fun idea. Not sure how balanced, as Exploding Penguin said... Silences are very powerful. All-in-all, I like it.

I agree with most of Penguin's points, except I don't understand how the Mirror Scythe's Core would be broken... If your opponent uses the same damage type Primary as you, then it's useless.
Does Mirror Slash (I just named the skill xD) make the primary damage type change for the entire battle? If it does, then it might be a bit broken.
In 2v2, Mirror Slashing one opponent to kill and steal the damage type the other is weak to is a good idea, but you could also use both opponents to change your damage type at will.

I suggest the type change lasts, say, 3 turns, and the core's Cooldown lasts a turn more (To prevent abuse). That way, you aren't completely screwed if you click Mirror Slash against someone you didn't want to (Like hitting a Dex Mage that uses a Phys weapon with Mirror Slash).

I support this.

The berserker killer -> RE: Stun/Deflect Sets (6/23/2014 15:23:54)

Thank you for your input! Nope, the damage does not change whatsoever, just the type (P or E). The damage will be totally dependent on your opponents stats.

I like Mirror Slash! I like the idea of lasting 3 turns, with a cooldown of 4. That seems like a really good option matter of fact.

But you got my main point, this is mainly about fun and countering some tank builds that seem massively op. A good example would be Dex Mages. I have no problem with the %s being tweaked too btw, I just threw them out there.

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Stun/Deflect Sets (6/23/2014 18:57:23)

Mirror scythe's core in the OP would be really good because your itemization of damage types could adapt to pretty much any build and situation. Especially with strength builds, because there's no way to easily work around it and it makes an offensive build extremely solid with not much counters.

Jacobfarrow1 -> RE: Stun/Deflect Sets (6/23/2014 19:43:23)

@ the berserker killer
Glad you like the name. I was thinking of mixing some items from the game to make a Mirror Scythe in photoshop, but I'm not sure if I have it on this laptop. If I do, should I?

@Exploding Penguin
Yeah, strength builds could be a problem. Maybe the skill-negating abilities/cores could counter/negate it?

Like, Azreal's Torment could get rid of it completely (A buff to the Azreal Aux, since I don't see many people using it, and for complaints in this forum). Not sure if there are any other skills like it, but those could do something similar.

The berserker killer -> RE: Stun/Deflect Sets (6/24/2014 12:44:09)

Yes! Go for it. I am horrible with art. And at this rate Str builds maybe a problem however keep in mind that Mirror Scythes core, all of the active Cores, cost MP to use. The fault with Strength builds is their failure to regenerate mana.

Jacobfarrow1 -> RE: Stun/Deflect Sets (6/24/2014 14:08:14)

Alright, I will try... Although it's probably gonna be crap, as I've only taken one semester's worth of Media Arts (aka Photoshop) this year. I'm just gonna be splicing things together, let's see how it goes.

EDIT: Photoshop won't let me use it under this account on my laptop... >_>
