Hi (insert the name of AK that reads this thread here.)
I was thinking after I had a look at a few pages of The member list. that should there be a purge of the members who have not posted ever? There are so many pages full of the people who have posted once, twice or never and have not logged in for years. It would clear up a lot of space and make navigating the member list far easier and kill two metaphorical birds with one metaphorical stone.

There's always the possibility that those members will return, however slim it is.

Keep in mind that the number of post does not forcibly reflect the accurate history of a forum member.

The count goes down as their posts are progressively and permanently deleted from the forums over time. Even some of the more peculiar and interesting folks that have come by may have next to no posts now or none at all.

*grins* And Hopeful's point remains lastly an important one. If there is one particular thing about the forums it is how folks who have not been around for some time may come around the next day. Some folks also ever lurk only to rarely post when they feel like it.

In short, not a wise course of action to take.

@gildarts Ah ok thanks for the explanation. In that case would it be possible to make a search parameter to show only active members? It would make searching through the sections a lot easier to do while still leaving old accounts alive. I had quite a bit of trouble with it while I was searching through the lists for the forumites to PM for that story.

There's actually already a function for that: Profile > My Forums > Online Users.

Here's the direct link for convenience: Online Users. :)
