Stonehawk -> Skill cores handicap for balance. (9/8/2014 18:03:05)

I noticed there are some really OP skill cores out there. Some people abuse of a bit higher dexterity and ninja reflexes core for example, since blocks ignore 85% of damage it's one of the most powerful use for a defensive core. So I've been thinking of some drawbacks on skill cores with highly effective cores high effectiveness, (and maybe a bit lower price too, lol). For example:

Ninja reflexes: Increases chance to block by 4% and decreases rage gain by 4% or decreases chance to deflect by 2%.
Lucky Strike: Increases chance to hit by 7% and decreases chance for a critical hit by 2%.

This would somehow give "advantages" for those who cannot afford a skill core, giving "weaknesses" for those who abuse those features!

This game is not meant to make Gods, everyone should have weaknesses, right?

Not supported because if someone built tons of dex and has ninja reflexes (which you can see whether or not they have it), you should just stop using blockable attacks. If you can't stop using them for whatever reason, that's a flaw in your build and you have to accept it and either improve your build or scrap it entirely.

Exactly. And high block chance is one weakness which people these days refuse to try and patch and instead rage on the forums about how dex mages are OP. I'm not saying you're one of those people, I'm just saying that's what typically happens.

You should've seen my 2v2 dex-support hybrid CH at the beginning of Omega. Max shadow arts, ninja reflexes, and ridiculous amounts of dex with a decently strong malfunction and nice aux damage. And even then people didn't complain my build was OP, they just started using meteor strike and using their guns.

I agree with the concept,
Though I also agree with penguin,

Perhaps to reach a similar effect they should concentrate on more counter options etc. rather then specifically incorporating weaknesses into the original core though I do agree with the reasoning that all builds should have weaknesses and strengths etc.

Ninja reflexes are a overused core: it shuld be 3% to bring it on pair with deflection shield and crit heal.
Lucky strike (7%) is overused as well.It s not really a problem since the sword comes to a cost, however this shuld still get atleast 1% nerf, to reflect the change on ninja reflexes.

Your suggestion is to stop using blockable attacks. Technician improves with dex, so deflectable attacks will be easily deflected. Now what you say about your comment? Skills that can't be deflected or blocked have high costs, and they can keep healing and assimilating 'till your only choice is to hit. It's not always a problem on their opponents' build. I just don't know why technician (a skill that increases a defensive stat) is improved with a defensive stat (dex).

Still just an example, tech can be abused aswell, and can use a deflecting core, but in this case not so effective because most builds are primary weapon attacks (str builds) because of no cooldown and lowe costs, so dex is more effective to be abused.
