Day 3 If you ever wish to visit solace, I highly recommend the sleepy wolf inn as a place to stay or the night. Despite the over-sized dog that the inn is named after it (almost) never eats the paying guests. As I write this, I am a ghost (I think) I did some research and it appears I am a type of ghost which somehow absorbs the essence of defeated or dying people as long as rot has not set in or parts of it eaten by something and has the ability to change at will, retaining all the memories and skills of the possessed body. This is called an oversoul. This is all I could find about my condition in the library of solace. Now that I look around me carefully, I realise that most of the adventurers that mill around solace's main street fighting random monsters and duelling each other have my condition. When I ask them how they became oversouls, it always seems to occur when somebody fails at absorbing their souls soon after defeat. It appears to strengthen the soul, giving it life without flesh until a host is found, after which it can somehow switch between bodies at will. I suppose you, as a reader, are curious as to how I became an oversoul. Well, I was tossing the disguise around in the forest near solace to make it suitably dirty for the "wandering in the forest" excuse when I got stabbed in the back by a void wearing red armour, with blades sprouting from the armour covering it triceps. It tried to absorb my soul, but was apparently inexperienced at the technique, and failed. It got shot in the back by an adventurer who had taken the form of a lei crossbows. As the void lay dying, I grabbed it by the head saying, a little childishly, "not so tough are you now?" Almost as soon as I touched it, I was magnetically pulled into its body somehow, reanimating it and healing its wounds. Amazed at this fact, I possessed my old body, which had not been disturbed yet. Hey! I've just had a brainwave! I could possess a member of the clan of the claw and pretend I as him/her! Provided I can kill one, of course.
