FameFortune -> Anyone think rage should be unblockable/undeflectable? (10/3/2014 17:04:26)

after fight a tank twice and losing twice due to his outrageous luck i figured id ask if anyone else has a problem with rage being blocked and you know how annoying it is the get hit with a crit and didnt get one when you have over double the enemies support?
Moved to ED Suggestions ~Battle Elf

Emperor_Blitz -> RE: Anyone think rage should be unblockable/undeflectable? (10/3/2014 17:18:37)

not supported, this would make strength builds even stronger then they are and make them unbeatable.

Mother1 -> RE: Anyone think rage should be unblockable/undeflectable? (10/3/2014 17:29:15)

Not supported.

This right here would be an indirect nerf to dex, tech, and non strength builds that work with these factors while buffing strength builds. If you are having problems with this invest more in Dex and Tech, Don't use attacks that have a higher chance of getting blocked or delfected due to your build, and/or invest in the cores that reduce these factors such as aim assist, and lucky strike.

Having double someone's support I can estimate will yield probably just over a 10% crit chance at BEST. The crit chance scaling on support is complete trash, last I checked it's +1% for every 7 more support you have with a base 4%. The minimum crit chance is 1%, and while you have over 10x their crit chance with double their support given you have over 45 of their support it's still unlikely you'll crit. It's pretty lucky if they crit, but it does happen. Whatever you do, do NOT run a support build and actually expect to crit more than once every 2 fights.

This has been suggested multiple times and I'm going to respond to them all the same. Stop using blockable moves if they have way more dex than you. Stop using deflectable moves if they have more tech. Meteor strike exists if you just have to use a strength-scaling attack, and blocking a lot is a benefit of being a tank.

Impossibru! Now with energy parasite not being unblockable and not having any unblockable cores there is no counter to a higher lvl tank at this rate. And sugguesting buying cores doesnt help anybody since it takes SO LONG to get credits and getting 20 credits per arcade token also doesnt help! btw most ppl have balance def and res so suggesting using a different type of damage doesnt help either.

Also can someone completely explain why the game cant be only skill based?

Dual Thrusters -> RE: Anyone think rage should be unblockable/undeflectable? (10/3/2014 23:55:18)

People can argue that Blocks in general are balanced because they give increased rage, but when your rage is blocked there is absolutely no downside for the opponent. Instead of making rage become unblockable and totally unfair for the tanks that don't use IA, it should just return a portion of your rage back.

Btw, it takes skill knowing when and how to gamble with luck factors as Exploding has stated. If you want, there are cores. But to answer your last statement, I honestly do not know. Every RPG always have luck affecting the gameplay, and the same goes for ED.

even a noob player know that this is a classic lie, curently blocking or not the STR BUILDS NOT IS UNBEATABLE

Emperor_Blitz -> RE: Anyone think rage should be unblockable/undeflectable? (10/4/2014 14:21:09)

^ not sure if u read what i said, if they made strikes unblockable it would make them unbeatable and if you dont believe then you are obviously unaware about strength builds and how they work.

Silver Sky Magician -> RE: Anyone think rage should be unblockable/undeflectable? (10/4/2014 14:28:21)

This suggestion is obviously ridiculous. An alteration may however be interesting - I.e. Instead of functioning as an enhanced critical, when you rage you can choose one of three options - the current version, normal damage but unblockable/undeflectable, or reduced damage with a small heal/def and res increase (like frenzy or a combination of shadow arts + attack). Of course, I don't see the need for this, but it is worth contemplating, imo.

I don't want to sound rude, but you are probably lacking in skill if you haven't realized that builds which don't suffer that much from getting their rage blocked EASILY deals with most tank builds. 5-focus BM is a good example of a non-tank build with tons of heal/sustain, and can come back even if a rage parasite, a rage aux, or even a rage robot is blocked against tank caster builds.

FameFortune -> RE: Anyone think rage should be unblockable/undeflectable? (10/4/2014 22:46:18)

lol you know whats funny

i am a BM focus 5 build

it really hurts you when your rage infernal overload gets deflected

why are you even mentioning rage parasite its to weak to use it with rage

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Anyone think rage should be unblockable/undeflectable? (10/4/2014 23:00:50)

If you knew the formulas, then rage doesn't have a damage steroid. It simply ignores a % of the enemy's defense/resistance. Therefore using a rage parasite has the same damage boost as using a rage strike, it's just that the strike's base damage is higher.

To put it in simpler turns, if you use rage strike and then parasite, you'll deal the same amount of damage as if you used strike and then rage parasite instead.

Using this kind of mindset:

quote:

it really hurts you when your rage infernal overload gets deflected

Unless you only have 1 turn to survive or use your infernal overload to its fullest, you don't even need to rage with it. If you have 2 free turns to use infernal overload and a rage aux or rage parasite or rage strike, I would rage aux/parasite/strike THEN use a regular, non-raged overload. This minimizes the penalty from getting your rage damage mitigated via an RNG-based happenstance.

Since you know mention that you're a BM, take a look at this thread. It's apparently helped multiple people get better at BM: http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=21725894&mpage=1&key=
