I feel having to sell mission rewards for free devalues the reward greatly specially when the item is not needed.

What do you think?

Thanks.

Beast.

Not all mission rewards are meant to be sold since when we do this sort of rewards, it is focused mostly on people who want a fresh new look with their weapons, but they simply can't afford to buy one and upgrade it totally. Sometimes the players doesn't even have such free weapon and they find a good use to it. Even if you are wanting to sell it for a big amount of credits, Ithnk that the latest mission chains have awarded around 20k credits or even more( in relation to TLAPD event).

beaststyles -> RE: Mission Rewards (10/24/2014 19:03:25)

What i mean to say is what about those that dont need the item? They do the quest for no reason (to sell item to shop for free)?

Mother1 -> RE: Mission Rewards (10/24/2014 19:10:20)

How does items not selling for nothing devalue the item?

Did you spend money to buy the item? No you didn't. You got the item for free without spending a single credit or varium.

Ranloth -> RE: Mission Rewards (10/24/2014 19:11:46)

Missions aren't there only to give you rewards. There's story that goes with them, and you still end up benefiting from the missions, even if you had to pay for the weapon (i.e. buy x Misc item for the mission) - no loss is made, in total.

beaststyles -> RE: Mission Rewards (10/24/2014 19:29:27)

I said devalues the reward not item. As in for some who dont need the item, they will do the mission for no gain. (Except story line as trans has pointed out). No?

Ranloth -> RE: Mission Rewards (10/26/2014 7:26:26)

Alright, I created a simple poll. Posted it on Twitter too, but not everyone will see it there: http://strawpoll.me/2855791 (leads to an external site) -- Mix of the above was meant to be mix of them all but I derped when creating it.

We already did most of them; Ishmael was all Credits, Harvest missions are Weapon + Credits / Arcade Tokens, Naomi and Raymus were Credits + Arcade Tokens, etc. We didn't do pure Arcade Tokens chain yet, but not sure how it'd go with players. :p

beaststyles -> RE: Mission Rewards (10/27/2014 3:14:42)

Whats the diff between option 4 and 5. Nice poll btw :)

Ranloth -> RE: Mission Rewards (10/27/2014 3:28:58)

Mix of the above is a little bit of everything in one (small) mission chain. Weapon + Credits / Arcade Tokens is a weapon (not just Swords) + either Credits or Tokens.

I wanted to cover all the possible combinations. :p

dfo99 -> RE: Mission Rewards (10/28/2014 20:54:13)

credits only is far the best, weapons have usually low or free price for sellback.

Dual Thrusters -> RE: Mission Rewards (10/29/2014 23:15:48)

Yes, the reward of the mission might be less, but the value of the weapon itself becomes greater. You will be less tempted to sell a weapon that has no sellback AND the fact that it can only be obtained once.

Thylek Shran -> RE: Mission Rewards (10/30/2014 11:16:09)

We should be able to sell such items for an Arcade Token maybe.

The Harvest Wrecker swords (both seasonal mission rewards) can be bought
seasonally so they are pretty much junk items for those that do not like to
wield them for their look or collect them for their small rarity score value.

New player here. IMO free weapons would be great if only they scale to your current level when you obtain them.(this might open a new can of worms, but I am not sure what it will be) Will be great for helping us save money on upgrades.
We have limited inventory space and all equipment are cosmetic now.(with few exceptions such as those with unique built-in abilities) So if your old weapon is superior to the new weapon, because the new weapon is level 1 whereas your current weapon isn't then... [&:]

New look is nice, but having to pay credits to upgrade them to a functional level on the other hand..... need I say more?

Would be nice if some of the weapon reward from missions have unique built-in effects to make them more special.(if for some reason, they are suppose to always be at level 1 when you get them) Maybe these weapons will have to require the quest to be much harder/lengthier.

Still the fact that the item is lost forever once sold makes it more than enough reason to make me keep them even when they got high sellback.(though I am considering selling when I really need the emergency money) Right now they are just collectibles taking up inventory space.
At least you have the option to spend credits to upgrade and use them unlike misc items. *looks at Titan's Mug*

When it comes to arcade tokens, they are a kinda okay since the ultra rare prices are really nice. But what I said earlier about weapon rewards being level 1 when you get them and stuff still applies I think. With exceptions such as as Dage's Boomstick and Harvest Reapers due to the built-in effects. The robot prizes and vehicles(can someone confirm if vehicles are purely cosmetic?) are neat though, and the credit prize too. Though Silver Skull is kinda funny since it is basically 150 credits.(better than nothing)

Credits are self-explanatory, always welcomed.

I just joined ED so I don't know much. But this are just my thoughts. Bottom line is that whatever the rewards are, they are still better than nothing and several of them requires very little effort.(most don't even require you to spend much credits, if at all)

Once again when it comes to weapons/armors, I would love it if they scale to the level I was when I got them, even if they have no sellback. This way I can at least save money.

DeathGuard -> RE: Mission Rewards (10/31/2014 19:13:48)

@Poop: Yes, vehicles are purely cosmetic.

beaststyles -> RE: Mission Rewards (11/2/2014 4:25:35)

Well I will have to with option 4 or 5 as long as the items are sell-able for a decent amount of credits, like they used to be; so that those who don't need a weapon gain something from the missions just like those who do. accept for storyline :)

@Dual Thrusters, weapons being only obtainable once is not really great unless they have rare tag; don't u think?

Thylek Shran -> RE: Mission Rewards (11/2/2014 12:56:01)

Nope. They let characters move faster and speed up travelling to areas
that cannot be accessed by the map directly.

Gepard Acht -> RE: Mission Rewards (11/2/2014 19:06:55)
