The final showdown has arrived . . .

Taro has an advantage since he's got more counter attacks and doesn't use sacrifice and empower right?

The Jop -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/13/2014 22:24:22)

You're wishing someone good luck against you? I don't know if that's nice or mean.

@below
Of course, I assume best intent from you. Good luck to both of you, it will truly be a clash of titans.

The Finnish Phoenix -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/13/2014 22:44:57)

The Jop: Assume best intent, Jop! [;)] Mostly force of habit, though. The odds are very much against me to begin with since I lost our initial match 2-0 and now have to win two straight matches against the same person. Either way I'm glad I could get back in the final and will do all I can now that I'm here. At least I can draw on your victory from the same position last tournament for inspiration.

ChaosRipjaw: Yeah, the Counter Attack is really nice for when you're up against Iron Hide and need to do something with your energy without wasting charges by attacking. The pair of Catlikes are also not bad in Neutral fights, especially later on for piling on DoT damage to bypass stacked Counters (although Corruption is better it costs valuable CC slots that lower your chances of drawing the all-important Neutralize and Iron Hides). DoT's can also be used on Iron Hide's second turn to bypass it where instant physical attacks wouldn't, though a second Iron Hide can cause that to backfire so you have to keep that in mind.

I never minded Sacrifice or Empower on Dire Monk but when you're taking damage from Sacrifice and Counter at the same time it can hurt a lot, and physical attacks in general become pretty futile once the Counters get stacked up.

Gorillo Titan -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/13/2014 23:19:42)

Taro has more power and double iron and counter attack gives him an advantage I deff and power and going through counter.

Igneous -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/13/2014 23:34:09)

Bracket Updated Interim: *Tournament Bracket Update

CONGRATULATIONS Dylligraphy Wins

The Finnish Phoenix -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 0:56:30)

I'm glad to announce that there will be a rematch (second final due to double elimination). Had some good draws and momentum going and managed to get two straight wins after a freeze the first match (these are hard to avoid sadly due to the length of the duels). Now we're taking a brief intermission before the ultimate final to decide the tournament champion and such.

Duel 1 (freeze)
Duel 1 re-dux
Duel 2

Very intense and exciting. Bracing for some more of what I'm sure will be some of the most suspenseful battles I've ever had, and if I lose it'll be against a sig-nificantly worthy opponent.

Update: The final final will be tomorrow afternoon

The Jop -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 1:04:23)

Oh, boy. Why am I not surprised that Dyll is this close to winning four tournaments?

Axel459 -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 1:22:32)

Never a surprise to see TFP in the finals.

Gorillo Titan -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 2:30:49)

http://forums2.battleon.com/f/fb.asp?m=21867237 Well I called it.

The Jop -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 2:48:02)

It's not over yet. Signeous is very skilled himself and able to adapt to his opponents' strategies after he fights them.

Gorillo Titan -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 2:48:59)

Nope dylligraphy did the math to find a way to counter signeous dylligraphy will win.

The Jop -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 2:54:57)

What math? As a card game it's based on luck. You can pre-plan what to do, but there's no guarantee you'll get the right cards for it. They're both amazing players, you shouldn't assume one will definitely win over the other.

The Finnish Phoenix -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 12:11:21)

Thanks Signeous! And you crushed me in the first match so now we're on even ground for the finish.

Yes, it's a best 2 of 3 of best 2 of 3's. Also true that luck can be quite a fickle factor and I'm sorry Iron Hide was such an uncommon draw for ya.

bacca2002 -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 14:06:22)

They should really make 2 second limit timers so you would have to do the math really fast. They I would win like pretty much every duel(aside from lag)

The Jop -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 14:16:02)

I wouldn't be able to click all the cards in 2 seconds, let alone do the math in 2 seconds. That's crazy.

Vertigo Beast -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 14:36:53)

Agreed, 2 seconds is a bit too short xD

Although having a kind of "quick-duel" would be neat if there was an option to choose between the standard 30 second timer and like a 5 or 10 second timer to make people feel pressured to act quickly :o

Like:

"So and so has challenged you to a duel" vs "So and so has challenged you to a hyper speed duel"

And Good Luck to Both Dylligraphy and Signeous :D

My money is on Taro. :3

MentalDaemon -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 14:43:39)

The final match... Dylligraphy vs Signeous... Who will win? Good luck to both!

Igneous -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 18:01:58)

- it was fun while it lasted....
you guys rock...

The Jop -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 18:03:38)

Oh, I'm so sorry...I hope you can feel better. We're here if you need any support. I can't believe this tournament ended on such a negative note...

Gorillo Titan -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 18:11:16)

Dylligraphy did math on the decks to figure out the chance to draw cards since sign told him his CC he could of easily figure out the percentage.

I'm sorry to hear that sign.

The Finnish Phoenix -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 18:25:28)

My deepest condolences Signeous. I can of course forfeit instead. I hope I see you again some day.

MentalDaemon -> RE: =OS= Seventh PvP Elemental Tournament - Discussion Thread (12/14/2014 18:34:06)

That's depressing... Igneous... We all hope for the best for you and that everything works out. [&o]
