noremako -> Add community (12/23/2014 4:34:49)

In EpicDuel, you pretty much have no community apart from the occasional hi, 'f4f', during fights. So the only reason people would stay is for PvP. And that can tire out pretty quick, especially Only good players would want to stay in ED, losing 10 times in a row doesn't sound attractive. As a player from the Alpha/Beta transition, I can say that I've left and returned to ED countless times, because thats how fast it gets redundant for me. ED shouldn't rely on their elite fanbase because thats a collective few. Its really the 80% of active players being fresh players, maybe 20-30% of them keep playing until lvl 20 approx, and 5% keep on until higher levels. ED, apart from PvP, is too darn quiet to love! Really, the chat system should be friendlier. Its so finnicky and unwelcoming. Nicer chat colours, a larger chatbox (that's more engaging with larger font and nicer font) would make the system great. Things like dropping items (ik this can't happen but things like that) add diversity to MMO's which fortify them, turn them into something more then a short ride lasting your attention span. So, yeah, first step is to make chat viable. Secondly, not enough people spend time in lobbies. In AQW, a brilliant example is grinding. Grinding can be made fun with a party, because even while hunting down hordes of living cacti you can chat with other players, who have interesting, desirable gear and cool flashy things to do. And a reason to be in the chatroom. People right now stay in crowded rooms for gifts, for credits, for prizes. And thats okay, because there should be an incentive to do anything. You fight for credits. You wait silently in the lobby for, for, for what? Add something that rewards being an active member of lobbies. Perhaps every minute or two in certain lobbies a flying treasure chest can fly through the screen, and whoever clicks it first could win a small cash prize? Who knows, just something to retain the appeal of participating in lobbies. Is there no designated 'Chatroom?' A room specifically designed for player interaction should be made. Also, as well as a money making aspect for ED, having emoticons to purchase and use would massively increase the atmosphere of ED's community. So many things can be done to improve ED. But after the game has been made (ED has, in fact, made a game) the side aspects, what really appeals comes next. Take it to heart, ED. Make a community.
