The berserker killer -> Partial blocking (1/30/2015 14:57:02)

I suggest that moves such as double strike, berzerker, cheap shot, and rage with primarys should be able to be partially blocked. This means that, for instance with berzerker, the 1st strike could be blocked, and then the other 2 wouldn't be blocked. You could also have a critical partial block, where part of the move is blocked but the part that isn't blocked is a crit. Massacre would not be included in this because it is an "ultimate" move with 3 turns of warm-up. This would make the game more realistic and help improve balance issues related to blocking, because there would be a lower chance of blocking the entire move, and a higher chance of blocking part of it, making builds like str abuse berzerker less massively

I remember this suggestion being made several times in the past as a way to nerf luck. However I also remember the staff saying with the current battle engine it wouldn't be possible.

However with this in play this wouldn't do anything to stop Tech mage or blood mage seeing as neither have a 2-3 attack move where as the other classes have at least one (Unless you are adding the rage with a sword for mages seeing as this is the only time where Tech and Blood mages would have an animation where you do 2 strikes.)

As above. Due to the engine limitations, it's not possible to have per-hit blocks - which indeed would be better. For this reason, blocks don't defend from 100% damage anymore to lessen their impact when the entire attack is blocked.
