Lord Machaar -> Testers (Balance) (2/14/2015 10:10:45)

Long ago, we heard about "Balance Tracker", testers, developper's server... Yet with these "Specific & Isolated" set of tools/members, we still see a huge lack of balance updates / Patchnotes.

Taking a look at a link I found on the artix page (www.artix.com) showing the current members of ED team. I was amazed by the names that showed up in the testing team.
Link: http://www.artix.com/pages/edstaff

Here are the following name of current ED testers:

1- Ichigo Kurosaki
2- Odin Fatalis
3- Overlord Drekon
4- Sir ND Mallet
5- Thurop Rekinvale
6- WhiteTiger
7- Mecha Mario: Lead tester, moderator, AK... etc, not sure how he does all this.
Out of all the 7 testers, 2 or 3 of them are actually players of ED, who were picked up due to their presence in the game, and being active. But what about others? Fake names? Fake players? To say that we have testers while we don't? Hmm, got me confused, since testing requires a specific set of members, who actually played the game, and ofcourse still playing it, but what I see now is an empty list. Time to let players decide too?

Discuss if you think that number/members of testing team should be changed to meet the current state of balance. Do you think that the time has come for players to actually test the game and suggest balance updates. Because I heard sometime ago that Rabblefroth reads the balance thread, yet he manages to refuse most of those suggestions/solutions in his head for the simple reason that they lack something. Well that's normal because players lay down those suggestions based on their character, sometimes from the air. If some of us had the ability to actually test the game we will manage, we also, to lay down better suggestions.

Thurop Rekinvale is also known as Dreiko Shadrack on the Forums, and often lurks around + almost always on IRC, having spoken with him countless of times there before. Odin Fatalis has a Twitter account, and as you can see, he's active too. Lastly, Ichigo Kurosaki doesn't seem to be on the ED Wiki list anymore ( apart from an older version of the page), which means he has likely stepped down between Artix.com Staff Page creation and sometime recently.

We all know who Drekon, WhiteTiger, and ND Mallet are.

The berserker killer -> RE: Testers (Balance) (2/14/2015 10:19:51)

Ive only seen mecha, white tiger, and Drekon in game. I don't see any of them on a daily basis. Testers should be here on a daily basis. "They have lives" is not an excuse

Lord Machaar -> RE: Testers (Balance) (2/14/2015 10:30:17)

@Ranloth:

We all know that there are some players (excluding me, for the simple reason that I say the truth about the game, and not being hypocrite to win a spot, etc..), there are some players who are active/ with a history (6 - 5 years), who can give actually help the balance team. But the problem is, some of those players don't have a clean record/history, for the simple reason that rules of joining the AE team say that your record in-game/forums should be clean. That's why devs tend to hire members who, some of them, never played the game, unactive, etc... for the sake of those rules.

Battle Elf -> RE: Testers (Balance) (2/14/2015 10:31:13)

None of the testers listed on the Artix site are "made up", instead, due to various other obligations, there is a range of activity between the different testers. Members of the ED staff do read the forums, but claiming they don't exist won't encourage them to come back.

Please don't use the forums as a way to publicly accuse the staff. If you need to be refreshed on what's allowed, please =AE= Comprehensive Forum Rules.

From the ED GD Rules

Treat each other with kindness, respect and tolerance, just as you would expect them to provide to you in turn. This is not a request. Any user who is deemed to be showing malicious posting behavior towards another member of the forum community or a member of the AE staff will receive a minimum of a Warning. More significant consequences are possible depending on the severity of the post(s). This also means that any manner of criticism directed at either players or staff must be constructive in nature. See the post below for more information about constructive criticism.

As such, locked.
