It should be possible to do daily missions beside permanent and event missions
as those missions can be very long. As example when the task is to defeat 10
or 20 other players in PVP or by a challenge. Its annoying to abort such a mission
when having some progress there to be able to do a daily mission that will vanish
within a few minutes up to 24 hours.

Agreed. We should be able to do more than 1 mission at the same time and I think it would be ok if they put a varium fee to do more than 1 mission at a time. I suggest 200 varium per mission that we're doing.

The only reason it hasn't been done is engine limitations. AQW supports it but it's also codes completely different to ED, so there's nothing that can be done about it for the te being.

With all the months dedicated to changing servers and recoding the game from 0 when Omega phase occured, we still hear this famous sentence. I hope it doesn't screw up the game big time, as engines of other platforms get developped regularly.
If it can be done in AQW, it can be done in ED, even if both games are coded differently, I believe they are coded with same language... and since it's not related to Flash limitations, I think it's do-able, since it was done in a flash game.

Anyways, great idea, I was forced to about many long missions for the sake of some event missions or daily missions.

Just spoke with Char, and yes, it is technically engine limitations. On one hand, it's possible but... your progress would not save on logging out or a disconnect, just like AQW. It was one or the other, a trade-off. With how long Missions can take in ED (e.g. 200 PvP), how could a casual player ever finish this? And random disconnects skewing players over? We would have to stick to very simple Missions for good, something that can be done in a couple of minutes tops; PvP takes a little bit longer than that.

Saving progress and having multiple Missions is something that isn't possible, at the same time, and AQ even has similar thoughts on saving progress in Quests - coding issues, and database space; players suggested it there many times, too.

In other words, it's either multiple Missions or saving progress on logout / disconnect. The latter was chosen since it's proven to be far more efficient and effective, than having multiple Missions active. Not even AQW saves your progress during a disconnect or when you log out. Engine limitations, eh?
