@ lord ginger Part of the reason why people use swords so much is because for their builds the pro's outweigh the cons in many senses. I mean if I can make a build that doesn't rely on certain moves (AKA the moves that require a class weapon) that wins why should I or anyone else be punished for it?

That's the problem, people used to use firebolt, massacre, and now they're useless. If a class never uses a skill, what's its use?

Don't scream on me for explaining this, but Both of those moves were nerfed a lot. Fireball was widely used back when it scaled 1 for every 3 strength, but back then it was OP. So after the inferno war the staff nerfed it from 1 for every 3 strength to one to every 4 strength. After that the use of this move went down. As for Massacre there are several reasons why it isn't used. 1 Massacre like fireball got several damage nerfs 2 The energy cost and the warm up period it has. In other words unless you are willing to invest a lot and I mean a lot of energy just about every class can drain your energy way before you can ever use the move. I mean why would I even use Massacre if I can't hold on to enough energy to effectively use it? Even if you were to force these extra penalities onto swords in an attempt to get users to use these moves, they still won't for those reasons.

They don't have to be on MAX, and besides, class weps are hardly seen, they should buff those skills

No they are not. My level 14 Bounty Hunter uses a sword because stat points

@.Lord Ginger. First of all if our replies weren't related to the post, an AK would have interfered to delete them. Ranks are strongly related to this problem because: -Ranks Promote for strenght builds. - Most strenght builds don't require the class's special weapon. Period.

No. Swords aren't used because of ranks, I see 5focus use them all the time.

Swords are overused because many reasons: - Ranks favourite swords. - Builds favourite swords. - Skills favourite swords. - Extra stat points favourite swords. - Damage favourite swords. A level 20 is not overusing a sword because he has ranks. I'm here treating one reason and not all. Other reasons are easily explained. - Builds & Skills favourite swords = Make more skills used by class's special weapon only. - Extra stat points = Give equivalent stat points to all type weapons. - Damage = Make - Ranks? You know how can you fix this? This is more complicated to fix in 1 sentence. By balancing all parameters but ranks you risk to make some builds very OP (High rank blood mages using strenght builds if bludgeon is used with staff only.. etc..). Last but not least, since an AK didn't interfere, you don't have the right to say a word especially if our replies are related to the OP. Even if they aren't, and we are cursing you here or flaming each other, you don't have the right also, you send a report to an AK or moderator and he/she interfere to solve the problem if there is a problem. You have 0 authority here bud. Have a nice day.

I honestly think there needs to be a variety in weapons, not necessary making swords extremely unpopular, but having a decent build for a Blood Mage for a staff, Bounty Hunter for Blades(that can use massacre, at least on 1)
