These skills not only improve with tech, ignore defense but also have 25% chance to crit.

Compare it with other skills like plasma bolt.


The skills dO high enough damage as it is, better then plasma bolt, it doesn't need the chance to crit.


The luck in the game is bad enough, you don't need skills that max out crit chance, you have support for that.

both of these moves received a nerf from the last balance update. Not only in the amount of damage they ignore but also in damage scaling so they do way less then what they used to.

However these moves are supposed to do a lot of damage for he soul purpose that they are armor piercing moves so comparing them to a move like Plasma bolt is a horrid comparison.

Mother1, for Plasma Cannon, the damage scaling increased to require 0.3 tech per +1 damage point instead of 0.4 tech.

Right, but it's still generally weaker in the later levels where everyone has a lot of defense/resistance.

Crits honestly don't do that much bonus damage after Omega was released. I might have considered your argument if it was before then, but honestly landing 1 crit compared to ignoring 20% defense otherwise really is almost nothing in most battles.

And these skills really don't hurt without crits. They do above-average damage if they do crit, but if they don't (Which is most of the time) they do slightly sub-average damage in most cases. The crit is just a slight added bonus that only helps in somewhat rare situations.
