IMR says:
Frostval '15 Commemorative Spoon

Ice Magic wand (100% proc weapon)

The normal attack happens 80% of the time, and is one hit, Magic Ice. It's treated as a normal player attack, so it gets proper stat bonuses and everything. It takes -10% damage. It deals the damage listed below as BowBR, etc.

The "special" attack happens 20% of the time, and is two hits, Magic Ice. It's treated as a weapon special.

    Kibbes/Tibbles rewards '15. Kam says:

    Crimson Crusader and Amaranthine weapons.

    Fire and Wind, respectively. For CC it's Sword/Bow/Dagger for Melee/Ranged/Magic, and for Ama it's Sword/Spear/Staff for Me/Ra/Ma. CC set's MC is 50% chance to deal +10% damage per hit, Ama set's MC is 50% chance for +8.5 BtH per hit.

    They all scale to be = to Guardian level, all have normal B/R lean except for the Dagger which has 1/3 base, and the Javelin which has 2/3 rand. Javelin and Dagger also have +3 BtH leans.

    [You can cycle through them by using the Item Upgrader (see section 5).]

    I've noticed that both the Crimson Crusader and Amaranthine weapon MCs also trigger (or at least, the "Furious Strike" and "Seeking Strike" pop-ups do) on armor skills. Are the supposed to?

    Do they have the same boost regardless OR *4/3ed for Magic weapons (4/3*10% damage & 4/3*8.5 BtH)?

    Weapon special is one Melee hit. It gains +3 BTH (so effectively it has +0 BTH lean and *1 damage).

    Ranged Wind sword. +5 BTH lean on all normal player attacks and weapon specials.

    Because it's so light, it gets stat bonuses as if it were a Ranged weapon. And unlike the Paperclip, I'm just setting it as a Ranged weapon, instead of giving it an effect that overrides the usual stat bonuses >.> <.<

    Special is one hit, Ranged Wind.

    Giftbox Magic weapon: Big Dictionary

    Description: "If you can't cast / any windy spells / not even a breeze / then you might as well / come on take a look / you'll find it in a book / and learn to cast a chinook"

    Wind Magic "tome", like the Lightning Rod. (It's actually tagged as both a tome and a staff.) Comes with three options:

  • Tehuantepecer - pure Wind spell, deals the listed damage. Costs «MPCost1» MP. 5 hits.
  • Panoply - defensive spell, gives you Defence Boost status (+29 defence, 5 turns). Costs «MPCost1» MP.
  • Sough - Mana-efficient Wind spell. Deals -25% damage. Costs «MPCost2» MP. 1 hit.

    If you don't have enough MP for any of them, then it Draws Mana. This heals you for «MPCost2» MP. It has a 10% chance of doing a "Lucky Gust", which is one Magic Wind hit, 0 Base/Rand damage, and full stat damage but the only damage is from Luck (so LUK*3/8).

    If spells are disabled, then you do a "wand attack". This is one hit, Magic Wind. It does *1.02 of the listed damage.

    Does LUK/20 applies to this as well like other mana efficent spells do?

    Aw, nuts. I use the additive damage multiplier (so that it plays nicely with spell-boosting items), which means that it gets decreased LUK damage too. This is a bug, and will hopefully be fixable in a future game engine update. ~IMR

    Panoply - defensive spell, gives you Defence Boost status (+29 defence, 5 turns). Costs «MPCost1» MP.

    Looks like the same effect across all Level Tiers currently. So the Level 10 cost at 78 MP and the Level 150 at 653 MP gets you the same +29 defense for 5 turns?

    Noted. Expect a nerf. ~IMR

    ArchMagus Orodalf -> RE: Weapons - Read the first post! (1/15/2016 16:15:48)

    @Sir Cloud: Yes, that's exactly what IMR said. +29 Defences does the same thing regardless of your level, because the expected hit rate is always 85%.

    Brasca123 -> RE: Weapons - Read the first post! (1/15/2016 19:19:44)

    @IMR. i assume an outlevel mechanic like poe has will be included to make sure the item is balanced for it's intended level?

    Sir Cloud -> RE: Weapons - Read the first post! (1/15/2016 19:37:38)

    @ArchMagus Orodalf, I was pointing it out since it could be an OP'd option for high leveled players to exploit if they have the lowest version.
    quote:

    Ianthe -> RE: Weapons - Read the first post! (1/15/2016 22:01:15)

    quote:

    Nerf to the Big Dictionary's Panoply. In order to prevent abuse, the spell gets weaker as you fight stronger foes.

    If (MonsterLvl - PowLvl) < 4, then everything's the same as before.
    Otherwise, the defence boost is multiplied by (16 - MonsterLvl + PowLvl)/12.

    So for the PowLvl 36 Panoply, it works fine against monsters up to level 40. Against a Lv41 monster, you gain 29*(11/12) = 26.58 defence (rounded randomly). Against a Lv46 monster, you gain 29*(6/12) = 14.5 defence, rounded randomly.

    (This is the same downscaling as with the Cure Poisons spell.)
    Got this, thanks! ~Carandor

    Sir Cloud -> RE: Weapons - Read the first post! (1/15/2016 22:18:30)

    ^ IMR, will it be still be useful tho for the PowLvl 153 version v. Boss Mobs that can have a much greater PowLvl? Or is that capped at +29 for just the highest version as it originally was before?

    Brasca123 -> RE: Weapons - Read the first post! (1/15/2016 22:25:30)

    i think it would be nicer if it scaled with player lv instead, sometimes you fight lv 160 mobs

    also, it is troublesome when low lvs fight mobs with 10 lvs more than them

    znsinger -> RE: Weapons - Read the first post! (1/16/2016 18:45:58)

    As Brasca123 said. I understand what you're trying to do and Sir Cloud was certainly right to point it out, but I don't want to be punished because the RA assigned me a level 150 dragon when I'm level 135.

    big E -> RE: Weapons - Read the first post! (1/16/2016 19:00:49)

    Also with 20 level gaps between successive tiers, I'd say 4 levels above you is far too early to be receiving a penalty. At level 149, you'll be facing the same enemies as a 150 but have no choice but to use the level 130 Panoply; you shouldn't get punished for this.

    On a side note, could it be coded so the level 150 version is exempt from this penalty? Since there's nothing higher to upgrade it to no matter what level monster you're facing.

    Sir Cloud -> RE: Weapons - Read the first post! (1/16/2016 19:09:36)

    quote:

    could it be coded so the level 150 version is exempt from this penalty?

    ^ Exactly what I was suggesting from above too big E. The +29 could remain for the PowLvl 153 version since there can be no abuse of the skill at that level. :)
