Ok so first players wanted to get rid of ranks so that players can start battling and using strategy in a more "equal" environment. Sure, whatever, so you bring underdog mode.

Now underdog mode does that but now its more luck based than skill based so whats the point? Please tell me so I know exactly what kind of game you're trying to achieve because it seems like you guys don't even know what oyu want.

If you want a luck based game, then I highly suggest that you Change underdog mode to passively increase block, deflect and first chance %s instead of stats .

If you want a skill based game then I highly suggest that you Change Underdog mode to directly increase prim dmg, sidearm, res, def, robot and aux .

Please make it clear what kind of game you want by clearly stating A for LUCK BASED or B for SKILL BASED because atm im confused

they wont, you wont believe as a massacre build user, despite of having 100+ support, enemy with 18+14 support go first, if it goes like this with recent str/aux/gun/skill nerfs its utter crap

I would love a clear answer as to what their plan is to make the game. If they want it luck based, as clearly stated in your comment @king bling. If they want it luck based then clearly state that so I can at least stop suggesting things to make the game more skill based instead of luck based. I mean I just got blocked 8 times by someone I had the same dex as. He blocked my rage bludgeon 3 times, normal bludgeon twice and three of my strikes. He didn't even have ninja core lmao and I had Lucky strike.

The extra stats boost damage on stuff like artillery strike, plasma bolt, the strength of buffs/debuffs, etc...

The impacts the stats themselves have on luck are really minimal, even at a +2/3/3/2 level.

@Exploding Penguin they underestimated just how "minimal" they can be.

You cant have luck and skill. I would very much appreciate it if they made it clear what they're trying to do

I hate to bring mention in of other games/franchises, but this would be a good example:

Competitive pokemon is a very strategic turn-based PvP game somewhat similar to ED. The community known as Smogon has made certain rules banning certain things that turn fights into huge RNG battles such as moves which boost evasion rates. However, critical hits, the confusion/paralysis status effect, etc... are not removed. These are extremely rng-powered effects in the game which are abundant and yet the community maintains a very strong playerbase where strategy is still considered the core. Why does ED have to make itself either 100% skill based or 100% luck based. This isn't a real-time game like a lot of FPS games that are pretty much 0 RNG-powered. Also as another mention many popular esports games like league of legends has crit chance. One of the core items for certain characters is an item which gives 20% crit chance and boosts crit damage from 200% to 250%, so if you get lucky and land that 1 hit which crits you will automatically win any fight, yet the game maintains its standing as one of the most popular in terms of competitive play.

they don't have to make it 100% either yet atm theyre focusing a large % on luck, ill say about 80% which renders the20% skill as obsolete

Explain how they're focusing a large % on luck.
It's currently a lot better than before where a single crit or block would screw you over super badly.

Underdog mode directly affects stats, all luck based cores were increased, all bots with the exception of 2 now deal the same damage hence decreasing build variety and increasing equality across the board (most builds) and when most builds are the same the only decisive factorthat will determine who will win that match in a game where players have a predicatable sequence tot their builds is luck.....Not to mention a large minority of players are botting and how do you think botters win? luck

Not all luck factors can be blamed on stats. Stuns will always be fixed at 30% unless you are using maul, stun gun or stun aux in those cases it is either 3 (stun aux) 5 (stun gun) or the number on the level the skill is set at.

Also Crits from cheap shot, Bunker and Plasma canon are all fixed so stats don't affect those moves chances to crit either so if any of those luck factors are getting you underdog isn't the cause.

But while we are on luck

Even if we did what you suggested luck would still be there.

The only way to completely remove it from the game would be the following.

1) Remove blocks, crits, stuns, and deflections.
2) Remove all range from offense based attacks and defenses and set them all on one flat number

Example

345-385 => 385 offense
400-450 => 450 defense

If all that is done then luck would be gone for good.

Not saying to eradicate Luck or Skill. Just asking for clarity on which one the games trying to focus on more in a game where your aux canhave a 3% chance to stun.

Don't get me wrong, im not down playing luck or skill here. I just have a tendency of being brutally honest and I need some clarity.

They want nothing but winning.

If they want a better massacre + poison build, they suggest no requirements for venom strike, additional effects for massacre and no requirements.
If they want to use Support builds, they suggest increasing auxilliary damage back.
If they want to use Dexterity builds, they suggest increasing back gun damage.
If they are low ranked, they suggest that higher ranked people have enough nerfs to look weaker than a lower rank.

That's it. You won't find an answer for your question, because most suggestions are purely to benefit the own suggesting person...

If it's LUCK BASED, the stronger will complain they usually are beaten by the weaker and it's unfair because they fought hard to get there.
If it's SKILL BASED, the weaker will complain they don't have any chance against the stronger, while the game should be for everyone.

It's really a complicated situation.

The solution to the problem would be this.


Remove level ranges and rank ranges completely from the game and have everyone fight their exact level/rank.

If they did this then all fights would be fair seeing as no one would be at a stat disadvantage unless they are ranked and didn't apply them.

However if this happened the draw back would be massive wait times due to

A) Low player base

B) Isolation of levels.
