Ronin Of Dreams -> =RPA= The Dreamtime, Step 2 (7/28/2015 3:46:16)

Now the Dream has an agent. An actor, or perhaps actress, which journeys through the fogs of the mind. They know who they are, but not when or where or even why. The grey mists cling to their skin, and vague shapes wander just beyond their sight… Welcome to the second step of the Dreamtime process. Here we will begin the process of taking the creation of your character and creating a seed of an environment which they can live within. Like a seed, it will require some time and energy on your part, and it will require a bit of cooperation! That’s right, the second key element to understand and master as a roleplayer is that of cooperating with your peers. Roleplays are not just the story of a single character, but the woven threads of many characters interacting together to achieve a central plot. This step will emulate this aspect by having graduates of step one join together and create a setting where their characters will meet and interact. What you create here will be the Dreamseed for the last step of the process, so here is what will need to be submitted here. Each participant will create a post listing their collaboration partners, a description of the setting that they’ve made with each other, a name for that setting, and a few thoughts on how your specific character will react to being there with the other characters. Fairly simple, right? The setting should be the same for each participant, and while you may use your own words to describe the setting, you are also invited to create a single version during the collaboration and all post that portion. What will differ with each submission is the character thoughts, as those should form the first inklings of a post in your group’s Dreamseed. Think of them as a mini-outline of intents, if need be. What is important here is not necessarily the end product you submit, but rather the journey you each take to getting there. Talk it though with each other by any means you like! Using this thread or PMs is perfectly fine, but you can also take it to chat programs if that is your preferred cup of tea. You have full creativity to design the Dreamseed however you like, whether it be as insubstantial as a real dream or building up a setting to RP within long after the constructive part of the Dreamtime is complete. Will you create a setting that engenders curiosity about your companions, or will you meet on opposite sides of a smoky battlefield predestined to come to blows? Does your character miss a key detail that your partner notices? If this is Swordhaven, then why is everything shimmering like a heat haze? Submissions will be evaluated based on the creativity shown and evidence of collaboration between partners. Simple settings are perfectly fine, but provide a reasoning why that simplicity matters for the story of the meeting of the characters. As with step one, constructive criticism will be provided if the submission is not approved, and constructive comments might also be left even if it is approved. Take no offense at those, because such commentary on an approved submission will mostly be aimed at giving more details for step three. Oh, and you should probably read step three while you wait on the approval status. Just a hint. Time to let the dream deepen… Congratulations to the graduates of this step, and their settings:
