Thylek Shran -> Buff for Technician and Reflex Boost (8/4/2015 0:09:08)

As those 4 turn buffs provide only small protection (Def/Res) compared to Defense Matrix and Energy Shield they should receive a buff. They are also weak compared to Blood Shield which I think is OPed with its 5 turn duration and constantly low 90 Health Points cost. Strenght and support builds could easily outdamage the additional protection for which a turn does get used. Especially Rage is the factor that does break the weak resistance/defense bonus. At 80 dexterity and technology a level 3 Technician does grant 85 additional resistance points per turn which does sum up to 340. A level 2 Defense Matrix at 80 support which does cost the same energy points does grant 252 resistance points per turn which does sum up to 756 (3 turns). This is 340 resistance vs 756 defense which is a factor of 2.2. Now level 3 Technician and Reflex Boost do grant a stat bonus of 37-41 points for level 40 characters (80 dex/support). But can the stat bonus be used to compensate the weak defenses (that basically can only counter debuffs) with deflections/blocks and offensive power (robot/gun, skills) ? Mostly it cannot. My suggestion is to add a 5% heal bonus to Technician and Reflex Boost based on maximum character health points. A character with 800 HP would then receive 40 HP while someone with 1600 HP would receive 80 HP. This is not much but enough to see how it works and it could counter a good part of the Rage bonus which the attacker does receive by the increased defense/resistance. Buffing just the stat bonus would not work well as the weak point in those skills are the defense/resistance bonuses. Higher deflection and block chance could get countered with defensive moves and unblockable offensive skills while Defense Matrix and Energy Shield provide a stable defense/resistance that is more difficult to counter.
