The base energy pool was changed to scale with level, just like health was.

It should really be changed for a few reasons:

1. Builds that don't need the energy (many non-caster TM builds, for example) are set at an automatic disadvantage.
2. Crazy stupid builds like support builds reap too many benefits from the base stats and because their build is so easy to construct you are forced into certain build types to counter them
3. Builds that need more base energy should invest in more base energy to compensate. Builds that don't need as much should not have to invest points into there per the benefit of making a build that is not intensive on energy consumption.

Basically, it makes builds which require more base energy, IE support mercs, certain caster builds, etc... to invest in energy. They're using a build that requires energy so they should have to invest more points into it and take points out of other stats to compensate.

Also I am not saying focus builds (which would benefit the most from this) are balanced and need a buff or anything. If anything, focus builds seriously need to get changed up for reasons which can be discussed in another thread at another time. The main point of this is so that it lays down groundwork for easier balancing in the future, where builds that are built to not need to spend tons of energy will have an advantage in that aspect over builds which require more than minimal energy consumption. This change will most definitely need follow-up balance changes to target certain builds but this is just a first step to take.

I agree completely with this idea.

Also energy regen skills could wortk with % instead which we all know is more balanced. E.g. BB now regens 35% of your max energy at lvl 10
and then skills wouldnt have to improve with level.

But only if energy improves more then 125 per point. Make it 150.

% is bad, lol. This makes low energy, stay down there.

Energy is already pretty useless. The % wouldnt affect it as much as you would think. If base energy at max level was lowered to 400 then players would recieve minimum 140 energy if you raise it.
This would also make the skill not a must have maxed for players who dont rely on energy Also this is another huge issue with ED!

If people do invest into energy to "regenerate" more they will have to spend more on it. To achieve 900 enregy they would need to invest 500 points which isnt untouchable because of BMs drain. High risk reward system.

A rhetorical question. Do you invest any points into energy?

Energy is the most valuable thing...Is that a joke? You fight me without using energy, and me using it, see who wins.


And yea, sometimes I do, depending on the build I run. :)

I invest points in energy if I want to use a maxed ultimate skill.

i dont know , with all the energy stealing moves , piston punch , etc... , low energy would ruin this game even more

I don't think there would really be an energy deficiency problem. This comment up here is one of the most common in regard to support builds.
