Alright then! With Ronin's and Salene's permisssion, the character in the stands will collect Ravinia after or during the finals, when the fight here is over. Thank my lucky stars thatHideyoshi does not kill. [:)]

I have no reservations against such, no. It may happen. You may thank the others for not slaying Ravinia out of hand more than anything from my end of things.

As a followup, since I'm unsure how many of you are following the main thread atm anyway: I will be out of town tomorrow and Sunday, so I may not be quite as prompt in replying to questions tossed my way. Nor will I be quite as hawkish in posting precisely at idle timer elapsing. This is not an excuse to get lazy, but I will give consideration if an extremely necessary detail is hinging on a reply from my quarter. Your regularly scheduled tyrancy will resume on Monday, just in time for the final stretch of the Paragon Phase activities.

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: =EC 2015= Fountain OOC (8/29/2015 7:08:59)

I headed to the northern arena entrance based on the assumption that Hideyoshi and Yeni are fighting it out in the south. Keihäs is going to make the biggest distance she can possibly get between them.

Caststarter -> RE: =EC 2015= Fountain OOC (8/30/2015 19:20:33)

If anyone is wondering about the last part of the post, it is suppose to be like a chain of events that would continue if a step succeeds that will of course change if one can not be done. Thought it would be nice to allow a bit of a longer stretch of time to occur instead of just one person do an action, then the next will post the next. This way the other person can know what will be the next one be and allow which one that want to stop or succeed.

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: =EC 2015= Fountain OOC (9/1/2015 7:05:06)

@deathlord45: The post is lacking the information about the fate regarding Keihäs, that is intentional. I want your feedback as to whether or not she could both throw the spear and then make the pirouette in time before being pierced by a bolt. Please also include what you are targeting so I can make a proper assessment as to what would happen to her and this will be reflected in the next post, provided there is one for her. She did what she had to do in order to impress the Elemental Lords.

@Ronin of Dreams: This is a daring move I have toyed with in my head for some time now. This could be an all or nothing move on the part of Keihäs, but the way I see it she sees fighting as much as a form of art as the crafts of her sisters so I think she would make it no matter what. However, seeing this involves an interaction with the arena's rules I'd like to hear your input what would happen to the spear and what sort of impact it would create. Would it evaporate moments after being hit? (In which case what would happen to her companion; the spirit?) Would the sparks of lightning fly off and connect with other materials which conduct?

deathlord45 -> RE: =EC 2015= Fountain OOC (9/1/2015 10:04:11)

@Dwelling: From the angling and timing of the shot, I highly doubt that she'd be able to make into a pirouette before the bolt hit her unless she was starting to pirouette as she was throwing the spear which would mess up the aiming of the throw. Still gonna leave my post open ended because it's your character.

This was a fun event. Can't wait for next year.

I'll answer your question by giving you the items to consider.

1. How conductive is the metal of the spear? That will determine the damage to the metal vessel itself right there. The more conductive the metal, the more scarring and less outright deformation will occur as the lightning moves through it. Small metal objects, and yes a spear is sufficiently small in this regard, do not handle lightning well at all. But, to be fair, you are aiming for a Rule of Cool factor as well. I'm cool with the idea and the narrative not matching real physics, I'm just providing that information to you.

2. Lightning really doesn't last that long, nor does it really spark. The construct generating it is magical, yeah, but the lightning discharge itself is 100% natural. So with regards to sparks, it more comes down to if the metal will carry a residual charge rather than rerouting. The strike will seek out the spear on its way to the ground, sure, but otherwise shortest path remains the case. Apply the "Rule of Cool" as appropriate when you do your thing.

3. Does the spirit enjoy getting zapped? If not, I would think its about to have a very rough time of things, what with the destructive energies running through its vessel.

So yeah, you do your thing for the narrative according to your ideas on what metal the spear is nade of and what you aim to achieve. I appreciate you checking in, but I am leaving narrative leeway to you so go for it.

Ronin Of Dreams -> RE: =EC 2015= Fountain OOC (9/2/2015 20:15:00)

IC Threads are currently Locked until deliberations are over and announced. Announcements of Finalists will be in the main thread, which will also serve as the OOC for the Finals as well. Afterwards, the threads will be unlocked and anyone wishing to do so may continue their battles or, however reluctantly, may quit the arenas as their narratives might prefer. Thank you all again for participating in the Elemental Championships and making it through the entirety of the Paragon Phase with your characters mostly alive.

Draysin -> RE: =EC 2015= Fountain OOC (9/2/2015 20:29:03)

And so the true battle begins. Ronin's battle of anilist, to decide who gets to participate in the final battle. Aaaarrgh, too many battles!!
