I actually support what Front45 said because weapons are no longer unique besides design and color. So why not bring it back. The rarity doesnt even matter. Its not like your going to be in the top 20 without spending a crap ton of cash. Why not bring back the egg zookas, Frostbane etc the only thing I dont support are the Epic Duel Stage weapons(Delta items, Gamma items etc)

Removed profanity. Additional instances will result in disciplinary action. ~Battle Elf

Mother1 -> RE: RE:Epic Duel Questions (9/17/2015 7:55:16)

It is the principal of the matter seeing as the staff were the ones who made the promise to us that pre omega rares and phase promo's would never come back. Just like they made the promise that everything from the azreal weapons on would come back as seasonal rare viva rare promise. So it isn't a matter of people not wanting preomega weapons coming back it is the principal of the matter.

Having the staff break their word and bring back old weapons to appease some users who don't have said items but want them when they promised otherwise will also cause even more bad blood with the staff and they community seeing as it will make the players trust them even less when it comes to a matter word and principal and a bad reputation with the public is also bad for business as well.

Satafou -> RE: RE:Epic Duel Questions (9/17/2015 8:06:55)

Rare means rare... Rare items no longer affect pvp, they are purely cosmetic. Why should they be brought back?

Lord Machaar -> RE: RE:Epic Duel Questions (9/17/2015 9:45:10)

Some rare/ultra-rare weapons have cores, still I think bringing them back will ruin the whole "rarity" thing.

Mother1 -> RE: RE:Epic Duel Questions (9/17/2015 10:42:22)

@lord machaar

And the majority of rare items that have cores have already have mock versions of said cores made.

Frostbite > frostshards
Stun gun core > Stun aux core

while others have had the core put back into the game or already has the core in the game but on different items

Mark of Azreal
Icy chill
Lucky strike.

In fact out of all the promo's that are rare only 2 remain that haven't been copied

Massive strike
Chairman's fury.

However the later is a somewhat mock version of what surgical strike does.

Lord Machaar -> RE: RE:Epic Duel Questions (9/17/2015 11:39:29)

Almost all rare cores that are implemented in rare items are not that "useful", and even the comparison you gave is somewhat false, for instance, frostbite as a core is better than frost shards since it costs
less energy, but when we compare frostbite as a core within the rare weapons, it becomes useless, since all frost weapons have icy chill as a useless passive core that serves nothing in PVP.
Solutions have been given to make such "useless-in-pvp" cores replaceable, but will not be deleted to maintain the identity of the item*, but that's another off-topic thing.

There are also other examples where rare cores are usually coupled with useless-in-pvp cores, for instance Omega Override (A regular attack that reduces the target's highest base stat by 30%.) that is
coupled with Baby Yeti Charge (Adds an extra 10 damage to the Omega Baby Yeti.).

The only rare and useful cores you mentioned are useful because they are not coupled with another useless-in-pvp cores, plus the fact there isn't a mock version of them in-game.

I would personally suggest the return of other rare cores (Omega Override, Chairman's Fury, etc..), in form of mocks, without the rare weapons, which will:
A- Rare weapons will maintain their rarity, a rarity due to the look but also the unique core.
B- Such cores will be useful, what's the point of bring back rare weapons with 1 useful core and 1 useless core? If they were good, you would see players who have them already using them. (Not the case
for Massive strike and Chairmain's Fury.)
Also, I would like to point out that my other suggestion* should be implemented in-game with ^ this suggestion, so rare weapons with coupled-cores become playable.

This suggestion is not meant to add variety to game, since devs are lazy to make new cores, plus I don't think rare items' rarity will be degraded in any way if my 2 suggestions get implemented.

Mother1 -> RE: RE:Epic Duel Questions (9/17/2015 12:22:08)

I wasn't saying one core was better than another. I was using the > sign to show the mock version of said core not that it was better than it.

Also I wasn't including phase promo's in this seeing as the OP mentioned he didn't think those should come back.

If you think about it though the majority of promo's back in the days were mostly based off of stat edges with very few of them having cores. The beta weapon in fact were basically the entire Omega update in a nutshell seeing as you had complete stat freedom with that gear along with the perks of added stats.

So if anything the beta weapons took the hardest nerf when omega came because evey other weapon got what made this set unique added to it.

Plus here is my full list (minus phase promo's) of promo's that work the same way

Thorn assault --- Plasma meteor
Mark of azreal ---- back in game on other weapons
Stun gun core --- Stun aux core (2% less change)
Frostbite core --- frostshards core (While frostbite is 10 energy cheaper, Frostshards if it by a luck factor will get in more damage due to deflection < block so the trade off is somewhat fair)
icy chill --- comes with all frost weapons

As I mentioned before only 2 cores (not including the omega phase promo since OP feels those showed stay rare) are 100% unique and to be honest when the mock cores came in users of the original promo's weren't happy and actually felt those mock cores devalued their items due to them having the same/similar effect.

Lord Machaar -> RE: RE:Epic Duel Questions (9/17/2015 13:38:39)

I thought the sign > was meant to express the rare cores you mentioned were superior or better than the mocks. "->" Could have been better, but anyways my bad [:D].

I'm not against bringing rare cores back, those from phase promo packs, or from usual promo packs, I have many promo pack items that I never use, despite some of them having powerful cores,
but sadly they are coupled with a useless-in-pvp core, so what's the use of them? if bringing back these cores will increase variety in-game then why not, and for those who say that they paid good money
for these unique items/cores, including me, well I tell them and me, well simply, as I mentioned the cores will come back separated from their original rare weapons, and the cores will be only mocks of
cores that belong to weapons you never use, for instance, delta phase promo pack.
And I'm pretty sure this will increase variety, since devs are lazy nowadays to make any cores, bringing mocks of these rare cores back will only mean some number tweaks here and there with a
new picture and name of the core.

Therril Oreb -> RE: RE:Epic Duel Questions (9/17/2015 14:18:26)

Titan just posted on twitter there are 8 new Cores coming out in the BioBeasts promo package this friday. https://twitter.com/Titan_EpicDuel/status/644516352028450816
Dev's aren't necessary lazy with cores, they are re-used because every time new cores are added it can tip the balance greatly.
So cores are added sparcly to the game over periods of time.

Satafou -> RE: RE:Epic Duel Questions (9/17/2015 15:10:21)

Tip the balance? The game isn't even balanced at the moment hahaha.

Lord Machaar -> RE: RE:Epic Duel Questions (9/17/2015 15:58:01)

Cores can solve some balance issues, for instance the kartherax bot and how it deals with strenght builds.
Sadly all the new cores can be found in the promo pack, if there were some credits-only cores, it could could've been better, and the last crappy credits-core was whiteout that was released 9-10 months
ago, and which is:
- useless after 1 use since your opponent can simply take a screenshot once he sees you again, or just remember where the skills are since they don't change their places.
- Rechargeable, irony, irony, irony.

Exploding Penguin -> RE: RE:Epic Duel Questions (9/17/2015 19:17:05)

A 1-use skill can only tip balance a certain amount.

The largest degree is probably with something very radical like azrael's will or Hatchling rush.

These cores have completely abstract concepts to them but if the devs started using more reasonable ones like the frozen fury gun and aux core then it would be a lot better. Also way easier to balance or at least avoid getting huge complaints from people balance-wise on release of said new cores.

It is because they do not affect balance that there is less reason to put them in game. Bringing back the Pyro Fly was more understandable (even though it wasn't supposed to come back) because it had a unique effect which would promote diversity. Bringing back something like Frostbane would not accomplish anything, other than the fact that people who want it just want to look cool at the expense of the people who already own it.

.Lord Ginger. -> RE: RE:Epic Duel Questions (9/17/2015 20:50:42)

Finally new cores. We waited about 9.5 months.

DELTA BEING -> RE: RE:Epic Duel Questions (9/17/2015 21:36:55)

except the problem is it's only available through promo packages, not unless they release it in the shops as well

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: RE:Epic Duel Questions (9/17/2015 22:26:45)

@Delta Being promos weapons are released to a shop in game. Torgan is currently selling the Frozen Fury gear and has for nine months now

No clue who is going to sell the BioBeasts gear but someone is going to sell it

If the cores didn't cost cash, they could just add them in, upturn the balance and just see how it works, then adjust it after if needed.
Because they cost cash, people will be upset if they add one, buy it, and then it gets heavily nerfed.
