Just incase anyone doesn't know:
F2p means free to play so you dont spend money on the game.
P2w means pay to win so you pay real money for in game advantages.

If you haven't played this game in Alpha/Beta/Gamma/Delta, you will not how much it is a heaven for F2P players.
The game now has changed it's logic from Pay to win to Play to win, the more time you invest in the game the more you earn advantage.
Sadly players are using illegal programs (bots) to advance in-game. Leaving the computer on all night while the bot doing the 100 NPC wins for them. 2.4k Exp per day, almost 7.5k per 3 days = 1 rank, for
30 days that's 10 ranks. Without playing PVP, which would me 15 ranks.

Back in the old times (2010-11-12) it was very F2P (Varium items costed around 40-50 instead of 500 for a low level item now)

I have a character from '11 (low level cus inactive)

Now it's more of, grind duels, pvp and missions for money to buy new items...

lots of grinding to get an advantage.

Varium doesn't really do anything for you in particular. If anything it's just a luxury that barely offers any benefits in battle aside from the instance where a promo core is very unbalanced and broken.

Its well playable as F2P. New promo item sets (weapons, armor, robots) can only
be bought with real money (Cash -> Artix Points -> Varium / Promo Sets) and
can give the user an advantage. After a year they get accessible for ingame
currency (credits). Most if not all of them are Seasonal-Rare which means that
they can only be bought during a special time of year which has a duration of
a few weeks. There are alot of such events now that give access to old promo
items that have unique powerfull cores bound on them.
