Static smash should have a rage gain. It is a direct hit with your primary weapon. It does not deal damage but it is, indeed, a hit. Under that reasoning I believe it should deal damage

He wants the move to give the user rage along with energy not rage, damage and energy.

On the note of getting rage from this move, while static smash never gave rage, back when atom smasher was blockable I remember it used to give rage whenever it was indeed blocked back when blocks negated everything and atom smasher was blockable, however now because it is 100% granteed to work unless the energy drain or gain was nerfed I couldn't support this.

Basically. I wish i could go more in depth/provide more reasoning i was planning on doing so later) but pvp is getting intense in EpicDuel! But for now, yes. Static Smash, if anythinig, should even deal damage. At its best ive personally never seen it drain above 270 so the argument "Static smash doesnt deal damage because it drains a ton" seems a bit invalid to me. If need be, a slight nerf in energy drain should be no problem given the fact that the skill increases with strength and Mercs have a skill that buffs their strength.

So, in bullets, my point for static smash should deal damage and gain rage is:

-Primary connects with opponent
- Energy gain isnt that large now compared to previous phases
- It could use a little nerf because of blood commander which indirectly buffs the skill

I certainly cannot support Static Smash dealing any significant amount of damage while scaling with primary damage and still stay unblockable. Since it being unblockable is central to Merc's viability as a class, it shouldn't be dealing damage. I do think that Static Smash needs a buff, possibly by slightly increasing the drain amount and at the very least make it unaffected by Katherax, but making it deal damage seems to me a bad idea.

If theres any way for it to increase rage, as mother stated, WITHOUT dealing damage then thats ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! As far as a buff for static smash, it really is underpowered in terms of its energy drain and the fact that its affected by kartherax.

Since energy skills probably aren't going to get fixed despite being probably the biggest problem in PvP right now, I would just say the base values on static/atom smash need to get buffed. Making them too reliant on strength scaling as a buff would make it harder for the classes to find flexible build paths. If anything, it would be really cool if they buffed the base values a little and the scaling by a lot to make strength mercs have an interesting choice between doing no damage and draining massive energy or simply attacking.
